I love how you break down the instructions and you don’t assume that people know any of the terms. Your camera angle is perfect because the shot is clear and nice and close. The other thing you do great is that you stopped and, with the needle showed where to put the hook. You understand that for beginners all of the holes look the same. To further reach all of your learners you have notes typed on the video. It’s clear how much effort you put into your tutorials. Just an observation from a teacher…and a student of crochet. Thank you!

One very small granny square was the beginning of what started to be a college dorm bed when my daughter was in school.
When it was meant to to be finished for her graduation, I kept on with it and it turned into a wedding gift for when she got married, after school.
At that time it had become a king size blanket.
I made a second one, same size for one of my sons ..
      Very satisfying.
While working on them, the blankets went with me to many Dr appointments for myself....crochet pouch and all 👍👍👍

I think this is easy enough for me too. I've learned the single and double stitches, so far. My biggest regret was not spending more time with my grandmother when I was younger. She lived in another state, and we would only be able to visit for a few days and a lot of family was always around, so it was crazy. She did beautiful work. She was very crafty,, which I believe I've inherited, but I've been afraid to start crocheting. Mainly cause every craft starts out little, then before I know it, I have a room full of yarn. But I'm trying to learn. So far, I've managed to make hanging dishtowels. Getting better.

Hi! I learned knitting first, as a kid, and since my mid 20's I've been trying to wrap my head around crocheting. Over the years, I'd feel inspired to try to learn it, watch a bunch of RUclips videos about it, get frustrated, and eventually forget about it for a few years until the mood would strike again, only for me to get confused and stop, and the pattern would repeat. This is the first video in 17 years to be able to teach me how to do it. I ACTUALLY MADE A GRANNY SQUARE. Thank you so much for your thoughtful, clear, friendly instructions and video! I've managed some keychains and a water bottle holder by now, but I couldn't find a granny square tutorial that didn't end up as a sad, squished, fat oval for me. This one worked perfectly for me. Thank you!!

I love this tutorial, thank you so much!! I’ve tried so many others and kept getting confused but this pattern is so easy. I love that it keeps repeating itself so it’s really easy for a beginner. I started off learning how to crochet a beginner flower so this was perfect for a second task - unfortunately I had to go through so many other videos before I found this. Thanks for being so clear and repetitive!!
Oh and I LOVE that you taught us using the needle to thread in the loose yarns first and then moved on to teach us how to hide it in when you thought we would be able to handle it - SO GOOD. I love love love how thoughtful that was!
I’m left handed but this video was so clear I had no issue at all.

I am so HAPPY I found you! You are exactly the type of content I was looking for to help me get started on my crochet journey! I love how you break down each step including finishing off and not make us look for another video on other steps its all here in one video! I also love that after I make my squares I can make the bag with them and have a finished project not just a bunch of squares lying around lol! Thank you again!

I’ve always wanted to crochet and have never been able to understand because I’ve always been a knitter. You are the reason I was even able to make a proper slip knot! My mental health has been so bad recently so I decided I was finally going to learn how to do this because it would make me happy, and you’ve taught me in less than 5 minutes flawlessly! Thank you so much ❤

I picked up crochet hooks on Sunday night (it's now Tuesday) and am now able to replicate these without instruction. I really struggled with all the other videos I looked at first because I was starting completely from scratch, but this video has enabled me to actually PRODUCE something other than frustration. I now consider myself able to crochet, even though these are the only things I've made, because now when I watch other videos I actually understand them! You've taught me to run before I can walk because even though I can make a granny square I still can't actually just plain crochet (like a scarf), but I'm so so grateful. You're an excellent teacher and I really appreciated you going through the entire process, not skipping around or assuming we knew anything at all. This has been an invaluable resource for me, and I look forward to any future crochet tutorials you might make. Thanks so much 💜🙏

This is a fantastic tutorial. I am an absolute beginner, and was getting frustrated trying to "master" double crochets in a longer row. Making a granny square, with your super detailed and easy-to-understand directions helps to really power through how awkward it can be for newbies. Thank you so much!

The only thing I’m struggling with is to keep finding the center of the circle when doing the double crochets. But all in all I’ve watched this through and it all makes sense! Base color:
    Slip knot
    Chain 4
Insert hook into first chain to join into circle
    Slip stitch
Chain 2 (or 3, depending on height preference) (counts as first double crochet)
    2 double crochet
    Chain 2
    3 double crochet
    Chain 2
    3 double crochet
    Chain 2
    3 double crochet
    Final chain 2
Go into top stitch of original chain 2 and slip stitch
Chain 1 and pull through to end
    Second color:
Go into a front corner hole with hook
Grab new color and pull through to front and yarn over (now joined)
Chain 2 (scoot stitch over to edge to have more room) (counts as first double crochet)
    2 double crochet
    Chain 2
    3 double crochet
Start next set of DC directly in next hole:
    3 double crochet
    Chain 2
    3 double crochet
    3rd corner hole:
    3 double crochet
    Chain 2
    3 double crochet
    4th corner hole:
    3 double crochet
    Chain 2
    3 double crochet
Join at top stitch of initial chain with slip stitch
