    Excellent comparison. Appreciate that there was no music playing in the background while you are talking. Easier for me to focus. No pun intended. 🤣

    I just started with Fujifilm :) Today I have purchased Fujinon 23mm f2 and Sigma 30mm f1.4. My plan was to test them during week, make decision and return one of them back to shop. I cannot be more suprised - I didn't need week, not day, not one hour. After few shoots I can tell you that Sigma for Fujifilm is much more SHARPER, of course it has BETTER BOKEH (I cant compare with fujinon 23 f1.4, but this one has old SLOOOWER AF speed). As bonus - Sigma is cheaper.

    Personally I own both the 56.12 mki from Fuji and the 56 1.4 from Sigma. From my experience the Sigma is way sharper with great autofocus speed. It’s also very compact. I tried the 16.14 from Sigma and it’s also very sharp with fast autofocus. I am planning to get the 30mm 1.4 soon.
    Great review !!!

    you didnt change the name at sample pictures from the 16mm video. Its not that video but the 16mm but i thought the sample of the camera foto, showed a bit of a difference in viewing angle as the camera looked closer in the sigma 16mm. Here i am a bit confused as the 3mm does look a smaller difference as in the 16mm case.

    • @cris_photography
      @cris_photography  Год назад +1

      Thanks Georg, yes that was a mistake - the photos are correct but since I did the 16, 30 and 56 in a raw I forgot to change the writing. Cheers

    Thinking about getting the Sigma 30 again once I switch to Fuji. It's been awesome for my M50 MK II and it's amazing value!
    The Fuji 33 looks gorgeous and if it wasn't much more expensive, I would choose it over the Sigma without a doubt.
    I'm definitely getting the Fuji 70-300 for paid surf photography and video, but I would like to know if an aperture ring is important for professional portrait shoots or events when using a Fuji camera? If not, I'll probably get the Sigma primes because of my budget as well as they're incredible value. Don't get me wrong, I'd LOVE to have the Fuji 23, 33 and 56, but unfortunately they're out of my budget :/.
    Would love to know your thoughts dude and keep up the great work with your videos 🤘

    • @cris_photography
      @cris_photography  Год назад +2

      Hey there, thanks! The aperture ring is important if it is to you. What I mean is that some photographers got so used to not having one that they don’t care. I come from Leica and I love having the ring but you can definitely live without it.
      The sigma lenses are more than enough for anyone - including pro photographers tbh and you really can’t go wrong!
      Hope that helps and all the best with your Photography 😉

      @@cris_photography thanks Cris. In that case, I'll go with the Sigmas in that case 👍 (apart from the Fuji 70-300 and the Viltrox 13mm)

  • @durzog3668
    @durzog3668 2 года назад +2

    It's a neat lens for the price difference . Lack of aperture ring is a bummer, but I can live with that. Sigma 30mm definitely isn't as sharp as the Fuji 33mm lens, being an older model (from 2016, I think), buuut, still not a bad choice if you're on a budget.

    • @cris_photography
      @cris_photography  2 года назад +1

      Hello there, the Fujinon 33mm came out last year and is one of the latest from Fuji and the sigma 30 is starting to be available on the market now (latest lens to date with the 16 and the 56). If you’re an a budget DEFINITELY not a bad choice indeed 😉 take care

    For me, the apature ring is what Fuji is all about. I'm flexible on weight, open to fully manual... But take away the rings and my camera is no longer a Fuji.

    Sigma 30mm1.4 or Fujifilm 35mm f2 which lens produce better image quality?

    • @cris_photography
      @cris_photography  2 года назад +3

      Honestly I find Fuji lenses more contrasty. That been said, hard to tell the difference on the final image, both are great lenses but the sigma lens gives you that extra aperture for lowlight and bokeh purpose. Take care

    Great video and review! The price on Sigma makes me think…until i get to the autofocus part…the Fuji is way better and dont have focus breathing. If i looking for photos only i will pic sigma, but i do mainly video so will end picking Fuji

      I'm also worried about the autofocus, but it's worth considering that AF performance is likely to improve at or after launch when the firmware is finalized; several reviews of the Canon and Sony versions of this lens show it performing on par with first-party lenses, really hoping we get the same here.

    • @cris_photography
      @cris_photography  2 года назад

      I hope it will! Even though I don’t use it for video so I don’t necessarily care that much. If I want good AF I use my Sony A7Siii and that’s it. But for fuji video shooters it might be worth waiting and see if it improves (like you said). Cheers
