- Travel Vlog #96 | Jungfraujoch, Switzerland
We're back in Switzerland's Jungfrau region, and today we're visiting the HIGHEST railway in all of Europe - Jungfraujoch! This impressive railway station is 3,454 m above sea level and takes over two hours to reach from Interlaken.
We start our journey to Jungfraujoch by riding the train from Interlaken to Grindelwald, where we switch over to the new (and very impressive) Eiger Express. This cable car opened in 2021 and is 6,483 m long. It only takes 15 minutes to reach the Eigergletscher station, instead of 45 minutes, which is how long it takes to ride the train from Grindelwald to Eigergletscher.
This cable car is extremely nice and offers outstanding views of the area, but we also love the nostalgia and experience of taking the train. You can't go wrong either way!
After arriving in Eigergletscher, we boarded the Jungfraubahn to the top of Europe!! This train is the gateway to Jungfraujoch and is only accessible with a special ticket or the Top of Europe pass (which is what we have). To do this entire trip from Interlaken will cost over $200 per person, so we recommend buying a Swiss travel pass to help with costs.
Once at the top, there's plenty of activities! We visited the ice palace, Alpine sensation, chocolate heaven, and more!
You could easily spend all day here, so plan on this being a full day excursion, especially if there's nice weather out.
Our route down was a bit different than on the way up. We went down via Grindelwald Terminal, but then connected on to Mannlichen and Wengen again - this time for giant chess.
For dinner tonight we had our favorite budget meal - pasta! Swiss grocery store prices are similar to other cities, so this is the most affordable option for food.
Stick around until the end to see some chocolate tasting and bloopers :)
thanks for watching!

What I LOVE and what is helping me, is the fact that they included in detail their journey and transportation to their destinations… HUGE help especially for first timers to these places!!!
Thank you so much! We try so hard to explain how to explore the places we travel to!
@@AshleyandChristian You guys are doing a great job at it and I’m sure others appreciate it as well ☺️
Wonderful Switzerland trip experience and useful detailed information congratulations thanks for sharing very beautiful video 👌👌👌
Switzerland is seriously so beautiful!
Thanks a lot for the Amazing Video !!! I'm sooooo Happy !! That's the best Day in my Life !!! Ever !!!
Love you Guys !!!!
Fabian and Familie
It was so great meeting you Fabian! I hope you and your family are doing well 😊 you made our day!
Switzerland looks straight out of a movie.
Wonderful Swiss videos. Bravo!
Visiting Switzerland this late April through early May 2024 for about 12 days all in all.
We'll have 3 night stays at Interlaken (first week of May)
Have yet to decide if overall should go with the Swiss Half Fare Pass (CHF 120), a Swiss Travel Pass or a Jungfrau Travel Pass.
Unclear for now what works best without breaking the bank
Any advise is sincerely appreciated.
The half fare card may be the best deal! I’d compare pricing with all the trains you want to do. We did about a 12 day trip and ended up doing the half fare card as well as the Jungfrau pass. After adding up all the trains, that made the most sense
The views are just stunning from everywhere you show us.
Fabien was so lovely!
We have a lindt lindor store near us and have to resist whenever we go near it haha
Thanks for showing us the sights xx
He was the sweetest! So glad we have the mug to remember him by! The views are 360 everywhere in Switzerland 😍
A fantastic video!
Thank you!!
Another great video! I can only wink with my right eye too! lol
Thank you! 😊 i’m glad someone else struggles with it haha
Awww Fabian!! What a nice boy!
He really made our day!
Hello, ok I see you have walking shoes (thumbs up just for that 👍). Rivella, a typical Swiss drink, the description of the taste is interesting (I can't get that right with Rivella) and I think it would also be interesting that the drink is made from milk serum,
Great video, great mountain scenery, you can see how you enjoyed it.
Haha yes thank you! Have you had the US version of smarties? It tastes very similar! Thank you for your comments ☺
Thank you!
Thank you so much for your lovely video about swis. My family will go to interlaken,Grindelwald and Lauterbrenn august 2022. We got so many useful information from your video. Thanks a lot.
What a wonderful trip, I hope you have great weather! We really love this area and know quite a bit about it, so feel free to let us know if you have any questions!
Hi! Excellent video!! I’m going in February hope isn’t too cold 🥶 when you guys visit? I see the video was uploaded in Feb
Thanks so much! This was in July, so it’ll be colder in February but you should still get some great views!
masha Allah
Good love you 😘😘😘🇩🇿
Thanks for watching 😊
@@AshleyandChristian Yes I know that😘😘😘😘😘🇩🇿🇩🇿
Going to Switzerland is also my dream💚
It’s one of the most beautiful destinations for sure!

Hello i enjoyed your video very much me and my wife are travelling and staying at itsewald we are very much intrrested in the travel pass but cant see the one you got what got you up jungfraujoch
We got the Jungfrau travel pass that included Jungfraujoch! I'm not sure if they still offer it this year
Love your video. The weather is great too. When did you actually go for this trip? I read that it rains over 20 days each month.
Hi! This was in July. We've been very lucky with weather for our trips. Still worth it even during the rain. Our most recent 2 videos from Switzerland were rainy days!
7Back in the day When I was there the
Express was just being talked about
and yes we skied the Glacier And you never saw blue ice like bon the Glacier
Hi! We will be in the region mid-May and praying it’s as green and beautiful as in your video and not snowy still. One question…where was the Lindt store you got all the chocolate?
When I’ve been in May there was still snow on the ground, but it was still beautiful and you could see the green starting to pop out! It was at the top of Jungfraujoch, but there’s also a big store in the Grindelwald Terminal station :)
You guys are going to be sorely disappointed whenever you ride the Skyliner at Disney, especially after THOSE gondolas! 😂 Also…we can both wink with both eyes. Lol
What!! I’ve learned i’m part of the minority haha
In love with all your Swiss videos! We are visiting Switzerland in August 2022, what would you suggest for us,
1. shall we take a Swiss Half Fare Pass (120 CHF) and then Jungfraujoch Pass (159 CHF) or just the Jungfraujoch Pass (249 CHF/3 days)?
2. best budget hotel or stay in Interlaken OST please.
Will you be staying in one area the whole time? That would change which pass I recommend! We've had the best luck with airbnb, try that out! You can't go wrong staying near Ost or West
What an amazing video. What is month in this video?
Thank you! This is July :)
“What’s the taste I’m tasting… I think it’s something specific” 😂😂 my taste buds everytime.
AMERICAN SMARTIES 😂😂 beautiful view NEVER DISAPPOINTS!!
It was so hard remembering 😂
Loved the video, super helpful! I am going to Switzerland in August for 6 days. I will be arriving in Zurich, going to Brienz and Jungfrau/interlaken region. I'm thinking the swiss travel pass is the best option for me. Would I just have to pay the eiger express or are there other rides my pass won't cover in the jungfrau region? Or should I get both the jungfrau and half fare pass?
Are you staying in that area the entire time? If so, I'd stick with the Jungfrau pass! You could also do the math on the half fare card to see if it's worth it. We've used a combo of both before to save money on the trains into the region
@@AshleyandChristianThanks for the reply 🙂 we just got back from Switzerland! We did the math and ended up doing both the half fare and jungfrau pass.
@@yvettearroyo1541 Ah perfect, I hope you had a wonderful time!
MY son has been to AUSTRIA/GERMANY.....His girlfriend lives there.
Is the jungfraujoch train included in the jungfraujoch pass. I read somewhere that all trains in the region are free but you only get a discount on the final main train and still have to pay for it even with the pass.
yes it’s in the Jungfrau pass but not the swiss pass! i’m not sure if they’re offering it again this year or not
6.- for a Rivella is heavy .. normal store price around 2.- greetings from Interlaken
Oh it absolutely is overpriced up there! I usually stock up at the Coop 😂
how long were you guys up in jungfrau?
On the top? About 2 hours! I think we spent 4-5 hours in total on the whole trip
How long approximately did you get to finish the tour from start to end? Going there in a week.
I think we spent about 4-5 hours in total! Depends on the route you take
@@AshleyandChristian thanks 😊
do you have jobs to do this or is content creators.....just your gig.....IMPRESSED either way. LOVE THE CHANNEL.
We do both! We work part time/full time jobs and then travel every chance we get while making videos! Thank you for your support!!
@@AshleyandChristian A.THANK YOU FOR RESPONDING B.YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME!.
Of course!! Thanks for watching our videos :)
Can we use the Swiss pass to go up the jungfraujoch?
No but you can use it to get to Grindelwald, and then you'll get a discount from there to the top!
@@AshleyandChristian thanks so much! I got it now.
I which month did you go there?
July!
What is the temperature up there
It’s cold! About 35 fahrenheit or 1 celsius!
