    from my own experience, carbs are necessary for Vitamin C to do its job. I developed vitamin C deficiency on a keto diet despite the fact that I was jucing greens DAILY. By keto I mean almost zero carbs.

    Is vitamin C used as a food preservative good for me?
    The label of some preserved olives says: (olives, water), salt, citric acid, ascorbic acid. Seems clean to me so should I have a lot of it?
    Similar question but not related to video, other label says: (black olives, water,) salt, iron(II)gluconate. Is this then a healthy way to get iron?

    Can G6PD deficiency be spotted/suspected based on CBC work? Do reticulocytes and bilirubin have to be elevated in a deficient state? Does it only impact the type of erythrocytes circulating ( immature vs mature) or does it also cause low Hgb, MCV and MCHC?

    • @chrismasterjohn
      @chrismasterjohn  Год назад

      G6PDH deficiency doesn’t have any specific manifestation on a CBC. If you are actively suffering from hemolysis your RBCs will be low but that’s not specific to GDPDH deficiency and just because you have the deficiency doesn’t mean you are anemic.

    Glad that you warned about copper deficiency, it’s also vit P and K as well since they are all part of a natural vit C molecule and taking just ascorbic acid can depleye them.

      None of these minerals are part of the vitamin C molecule.

      @@chrismasterjohn Fine, they are not part of the molecule but along with ascorbinogen, bioflavonoids, rutin, tyrosinase and factor J are said to be co-factors that affect absorption/activation; if you ingest just ascorbic acid won't your organism use up existing stores of these co-factors to activate vit C?

    • @chrismasterjohn
      @chrismasterjohn  5 лет назад +3

      @chrismasterjohn  5 лет назад

      Overfeeding on protein has not been well studied. It probably has the least chance of fattening you, especially if you work out, but I'm sure it has the potential to add body fat in many cases.

    • @chrismasterjohn

      Hair growth is biological peacocking. It's what you do with extra energy the way you buy fancy cars with extra money. So, you want to focus on everything related to energy metabolism.

      To answer your question. I take a tablespoon of MSM every day and it makes your hair, nails, eyelashes grow really fast. That's just a side effect of using it. The best part is If you work out, do very physically demanding work, or have arthritis your body will thank you because you will be a lot less stiff and sore, and able to stretch much better.

    I had tried taking Vitamin C before. Did not really feel any use from it. This changed since i went on a ketogenic diet. Now it feels great to take 1-2 Grams of C per day. And i really miss it, if i don´t. I do not understand it. Is it the carnitine, that is being used up while being in ketosis? Could it be, that my histamines went up, like it seems to be the case in people with a keto rash? If the Vitamin C lowers histamine levels i should feel better taking it. I also developed some kind of rash, that i never had before. Not the typical keto rash, that you find on the internet, but very similar. Is it, that my immune system is compromised somehow, through the lack of carbohydrates (under 30 Grams per day)? Could it be, that it fights the light oxidative Stress, that Ketones cause? I don´t get it. Guess there is no way to find out.

    hemacrhomatosis is cured by large amounts of vitamin C , copper, molybden. g6p is not a problem at all with high C, referens Catchart,,, hemolysis cant be under a negative redox potential,,, the problem is vitamin E deficiency. Vitamin C does not cause oxalate stones,, b6 deficiency , magnesium and dha epa deficiency are the cause.
