I definitely encourage you to rewatch Hot Fuzz from time to time if you ever get even the slightest urge. You'll notice new details every time you watch it. Such a great movie.
All three Cornetto films have some running motifs. One of the most noticeable being the backyard fence hopping. But you also got the breakup, the pub and, of course, the ice cream. Funny thing about that: The Cornetto in Shaun was because Wright used to eat a Cornetto as a hangover cure, so he wrote that into the film. Wall's, the company that sells Cornetto, liked the free promotion and donated a bunch of ice cream to the film crew. Wright wanted to try his luck again and included a similar scene in Hot Fuzz, but Wall's didn't bite this time. Right before they started filming on World's End, a fan pointed out that Shaun had the red Cornetto and was about zombies, while Hot Fuzz had the blue Cornetto and was about cops and jokingly asked if the green Cornetto was going to be about aliens. So Wright wrote in one more ice cream scene and slightly changed the script of World's End.
I love how Skinner always has some appropriate background music playing, just according to the murder scene he visits. "Love strucken Romeo", "I am the God of Hell Fire", and so on. Rewatch and listen. It's fun. There's tons of such little jokes hidden in the background. Like the hedge that Angel and Danny jump over. Well, they can only jump over because it was clipped illegally, otherwise it would have been too high.
As mentioned, Simon Pegg, Nick Frost and Edgar Wright all worked on a TV show together called Spaced, which is HIGHLY recommended. You can really see them all honing their craft, Shaun was the inevitable next step.
These movies are even better the 2nd and 3rd time as you catch all the little hints of foreshadowing. Sean of the Dead tells you the whole story in the 1st ten minutes this way. The World's End didn't do as well at the box office, but in my opinion is the best of the three. To anyone who liked this movie, watch the other two in the "Trilogy"
You have to watch the series Spaced. Where Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright honed their style. If you like this and Shaun of the dead then you'd love spaced
"These guys have such great chemistry." Simon Pegg and Nick Frost are indeed best friends in real life. They acted together in Shaun of the Dead, Paul, and some others I believe.

26:05 I'm almost positive when the farmer only manages to say, "It's!" before Angel slams into his car, it's a Monty Python reference. Like, it has to be.
This is my favorite of the three, but Worlds End is worth a watch. You might also enjoy Spaced. It’s the sitcom that Pegg Frost and Wright started on. It’s only 12 episodes (that’s 2 seasons on the BBC).
I know Edgar Wright doesn’t direct, but ‘Paul’ is another fun movie with Nick Frost & Simon Pegg. It also has the added benefit of very few reactors having done it yet.

Simon Pegg and Nick Frost has an Amazon Prime called "Truth Seekers" Nick Frost plays a cable guy by day and a ghost hunter by night... He was also in "Into the Bad Lands" where he plays a martial arts master (he's actually pretty good at it)...
Nice work just leaning into the sponsorship at the very start and doing it. Hot Fuzz is one of the best comedy movies of all time, quite possibly. Certainly one of the greatest of the century to date. Nice appreciation and good to see genuine lols and shocks too!
My favorite scene is after Timothy Dalton impales himself through the throat, he's asking for ice cream to sooth it. Such a gruesome moment made hilarious.
Many consider Hot Fuzz, Wright finest movie (tied with Shaun of the Dead). Just like Dead parodied Zombie and Survival horror movies, Hot fuzz parodies the buddy action cop flick. They didn't discover their chemistry in Shaun of the Dead. Pegg & Frost were friends, and roommates, and they already had two seasons of a tv show "Spaced" (which Edgar Wright also directed) together long before the first movie.

A precious tip: The DVD/HDDVD/Blu-ray got a commentary audio track of Edgar Wright and his friend Quentin Tarantino talking about everything but the movie. That's worth a purchase tbh !!!
Simon Pegg and Nick Frost have had chemistry since Spaced, a TV from 1999-2000, 2 seasons directed by Edgar Wright, who directs these cornet to movies. It’s a great show, same style as these movies.

They knew their chemistry way before Shawn of the Dead. They had been friends for some time, when Simon pulled Nick into a TV Project called "Spaced" (there was a shitty US remake a couple of years later, look for the British original!), which was also directed by Edgar Wright, this was before Shawn of the Dead. Definitely watch the World's End! While quite a lot of people rate it as the third best I think it is very good. Personally, I rate them 1. Hot Fuzz 2. The World's End 3 Shaun of the Dead. Anway, certainly worth a watch. I think you'll like it.
I once lived in a small country village... Even the local police would call in the local pub. Ignore the smoking ban, drink until 3 or 4 am even though the pub was only licensed to sell alcohols until 2am. No one cared.
It actually would actually be very easy to survive a shot from that gun if it wasn't loaded properly with enough powder. The Blunderbuss was only used for very close quarters. After about 5-10 ft, the lethality of it drops drastically.
Love this movie, and Shaun of the Dead! Simon Pegg has good movie "RUN, Fat Boy, Run!" and Nick Frost has "Attack on the Block!" Stars the kid that is new lead in New Star Wars! Very entertaining movies...both!
This movie is a love letter to classic action films, and they even got Timothy Dalton (Skinner) who played James Bond twice to play the villain. Also; you should absolutely react to Point Break, the original.
And the doctor(the old man that blew up at the end ) was played by Edward woodwood the lead actor from the movie the Wicker man , he played a cop that went to a small strange village. He was also the original Equalizer in the 80s.
Yarp, whiles making the move nick frost took one of the guns home to practice, later police raided his home after receiving call from neighbours spotted a gun man in the area.
So gald you enjoy this movie, this is one of my favourite films, its one of those movies to can watch over and over and not get sick of watching. I lived not to far away from where they filmed hot fuzz, it's a place called Wells in Somerset England, Worlds end is ok but not the best out of the 3 films. But you will probably love it.😊😊
World's End is great. Also check out Spaced, it was a British TV show directed by Edgar Wrigth starring Simon Pegg. It was pre-Shaun of the Dead and you can see the origins of Wright and a lot of the actors in these movies who are main characters in the show. Nick Frost is a military nut in it. Super funny.

Before Shaun of the Dead, Simon Pegg and Nick Frost were in a comedy series called Spaced. It was only 2 seasons, but it's great. Also but not part of the Cornetto Triolgy is Paul.
Simon Pegg and Nick Frost have been best friends for over 20 years. It figures they'd have good chemistry together.
@@kirstygunn9149 I didn’t know that, thank you for the movie trivia I love that stuff
Yarp, whiles making the move nick frost took one of the guns home to practice, later police raided his home after receiving call from neighbours spotted a gun man in the area.
1.“When’s your birthday?!”
2. “22nd of February”
1. “What year?”
2. “Every year”
1. “Out!”
The Santa Claus that stabbed him in the beginning is Peter Jackson. The director of the Lord of the Rings movies.
I forgot this movie has some Mortal Kombat level fatalities!!! Brilliant MASTERPIECE!!!
Pegg and Frost were friends and roommates before they ever started acting. They are kind of the comic Matt Damon and Ben Affleck of English actors.
That Santa is Peter Jackson
Thanks for reminding me that this is on my own list of movies to watch 🍿🍿
The greater good...
SHUT IT!
One of the greatest comedies of all time.
Are you aware that prior to the movies Simon Pegg and Nick Frost also done a two season T.V show called Spaced that was also directed by Edgar Wright?
Yes, watch The World's End and don't forget the movie "Paul" with these two geniuses. Not an Edgar Wright movie, but definitely worth the watch.
Yooooo them British dudes are funny as heck!!!
The Cornetto trilogy are brilliant comedy movies. Some of my favorites.
