PLEASE REACT TO DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS OFFICIAL TRAILER. IT'S PURE EPICNESS. GONNA BE THE BEST HORROR/PSYCHOLOGICAL/THRILLER MCU MOVIE EVER!🔥🔥🔥🔥⚡⚡⚡☠☠💀💀💀👹👹👻🧟♂️🧟♂️👽😈😈
There was originally supposed to be a female love interest for Angel. When she was written out, most of her lines were given to Danny with no change, turning the two into the great bromance we see in the final movie.
Yep. That scene late night after they've been drinking is even more hilarious with that context, when Danny's telling him about how he can show him how to turn his brain off, etc.
@ you really only need to cite Shaun of the Dead. Considering it's the same writers and the first follow up to that, it stands to reason when first starting they wanted to try and recreate the "romantic comedy that happens to be during a zombie apocalypse" vibe Shaun of the Dead was given a lot of praise for. It's to their credit they realized the story and presentation made it not work as well. Plus, the real romance is with Danny, bromance or otherwise. The last third of the movie wouldn't work as well if Angel only had a working relationship with Danny.
14:38 One really under-rated funny detail I love is that they couldn't have jumped over that hedge to get away from the sea mine if the farmer hadn't been clipping it illegally.
I doubt it's the same hedge, it was supposed to be the neighbours hedge he was cutting so I doubt the police would be speaking to him from the neighbours field. He probably did all the hedges at the same time tho
@@thefourshowflip I only heard it from CinemaWins video on Hot Fuzz, they point out a lot of fun details while highlighting everything great about films.
"You can't just make people disappear." "Yes I can. I'm the chief inspector." Gave away the ending in the first scene. This is such a good screenplay. It's almost pointless doing a commentary on it, because as soon as you open your mouth, you've alreasy missed at least 3 jokes. Glad you did though, great reaction.
I don’t know if you caught it, but the first two murders when Skinner is driving past he’s playing music that describes the victims: you hear “Lovestruck Romeo” after Martin Blower is discovered, and “Fire, to destroy all you’ve done” when George Merchant is blown up. An even better way of throwing suspicion on him
A popular theory I've heard is that the Council agreed on him making himself as suspicious as possible to draw attention away from whats really going on. Looking at the blast Timothy Dalton clearly had, it almost worked !
Having been to film school, i can verify, it wasn't taught in a lesson, but it was on our recommended viewing list (which was lengthy, and filled with masterpieces)
Completely agree, this and Back to the Future. Great scripts, some great camera work and cuts, and jokes that pay off later. The pacing is just right as well.
Favorite is the callback to Angel's 'this notebook has saved my skin' line, with Danny placing it where he soon after performs the ketchup trick.. 'What are you doing?!' 'Saving your skin.. '
Fun fact: When Skinner first appears, they were planning on having a big neon sign on-screen reading BAD GUY pointed at him, but there was too much movement for it to be possible on the day. I love your videos, they never fail to make me smile. Also if you want another comedy film, I'd recommend JoJo Rabbit. It's directed by and stars Taika Waititi, the same guy that directed Thor: Ragnarok and voiced Korg. It also stars Scarlett Johansson and Stephen Merchant AKA Mr. Staker from this movie has a decent role in it. Keep up the good work, but don't be afraid to take a break if you need one
Finally someone who actually picks up on the joke of the graveyard shift worker in the petrol service station !! Great reaction, love your channel. Best Wishes, Ian
The gag with the performance of Romeo and Juliet is that they are "doing an homage of William Shakespeare's Romeo + Juliet." As in the Leo DiCaprio adaptation which was always stylized that way. Hence the weird costumes, the gun, and the Lovefool song at the end.
16:14 The funny thing about the inviting in for coffee, is that early drafts had a woman love interest, and when they decided to remove that element, they gave all her important lines and actions to Danny! It works beautifully, and this film is a true bromance, as a result.
I loved Shaun of the Dead when it came out and I remember having reservations about Hot Fuzz, worrying that it wouldn't be as good. At this point, I've rewatched Hot Fuzz dozens of times and it moved into my top 3 favorite movies.
Normally I get bored of reaction channels but I’ve genuinely been hooked on your channel for MONTHS. Your channel feels like you should have more subs so it’s shocking you only have 67k. But you’re still great so it doesn’t matter.
One of the great things about this is that once Angel sees the action movies that Danny recommends, when those similar scenes happen in this movie they are filmed in the exact same style as the original. For example, when Danny says later in the movie something to the effect of "this just got real" the camera pivots around Nicholas and Danny in the exact same way it does in Bad Boys II when they said the same thing. There's a ton of detail in this movie too and so many funny lines. Gets funnier with additional viewings.
Edgar Wright and Simon Pegg took a whopping 18 months to work and complete the working script, and it showed! the Aaron A Aaronson brick joke had me laughing so hard, I had to rewind the first time.
Edgar Wright is amazing. It's all the small details that make it for me. Whether it's the editing, the recurring jokes, the foreshadowing, or just the hysterical characters, it always adds up to a good time. I always quote, "the greater good," and hope people around have seen the movie and repeat the quote back to me.
that Deodorant bit took so many shots to film because they would crack up everytime :D Hot Fuzz Bloopers & Gag Reel (2007) if you do that as a bonus that'd be so awesome :)
Fun fact, Edgar Wright filmed most of this movie in Wells, Somerset, his home town. And the Village of The Year judges near the end of the film are his mother, Simon's mother and Edgar's drama teacher.
I love this movie, it's my favourite of the Cornetto Trilogy! It's well worth watching 'the making of hot fuzz' (which is on youtube!) cos they give lots of fun details and the rundown of the writing process for the script is really interesting. Edgar Wright and Simon Pegg basically locked themselves in a cottage for a few months to write it and they kept all the drafts and brainstorming sessions which they explain.
it was so much fun watching someone react to this movie who actually knows all the actors. you were constantly laughing, i remember when i first watched it, i had to stop several times, because i was crying with laughter. one of the best action comedies ever!
I'm so glad you watched this! And I thoroughly enjoyed rewatching it with you!! This movie is so quotable, so much of it lives in my head rent-free. Probably my favorite comedy, ever.
Oh man the Leonardo decaprio Romeo and Juliet version with them singing the soundtrack took me back to 1996 lol awesome , to be fair the soundtrack is awesome.
I love this movie! It's so well done. It's hard for me to pick a favorite part but probably the end walking into the station and gearing up. I don't want to say too much and spoil anything if folks haven't seen it. Incredible cast too.
I've probably watched this film 20 times and never realised its Martin Freeman narrating the opening, I always thought it was Simon Pegg doing a voice!
If you watch the DVD behind the scenes, all of the old, veteran English actors had an absolute blast having a "proper American shootout", literally had so much fun 🤣
I've seen this before but I still get surprised by the cast lol- seeing them in this makes me wanna see Seb watch the other films & franchises they were in tho tbh, i.e.: * Nick Frost - *Tintin* , Huntsman, *Tomb Raider* , Penelope, Monster Family * Simon Pegg - *Ice Age* , Mission Impossible, Narnia * Bill Nighy - I Frankenstein, *PotC* , *Jack the Giant Slayer* , *Arthur Christmas* , Underworld, G Force, Flushed Away, Astro Boy * 12:17 Lucy Punch - *St Trinians* , *Ella Enchanted* , Into the Woods * Jim Broadbent - Robots, *Dolittle* , The Borrowers, Paddington * Stephan Merchant - *Gnomeo & Juliet* , Tooth Fairy * Cate Blanchett - Indiana Jones, The House with a Clock in its Walls, *Ocean's Eight* , LOTR, Cinderella
Seb, you're one of my absolute FAVORITE people to watch reactions of, I love your excitement and wish most times I could mimic it. Just wanna thank you for not making me feel so alone with alot of the things (movies, shows, media etc..) that I love. Much love.
Two things i love about these cornetto movies, 1 the foreshadowing/blatantly telling you whats going to happen later, 2 how much they get better with repeated viewings due to the jokes or references you cant get without seeing them multiple times. For instance, ive seen this movie dozens of times now and i just realized the chief saying yes i can im the chief inspector to angels you cant just make people disappear is foreshadowing that the chief in sanford is making people disappear.
Seb this reaction was fantastic! If you're looking for suggestions I recommend Free Guy (I feel like it's a MUST SEE for you) and The Back To The Future Trilogy kinda reminds me of this movie in the sense of there's no wasted lines much like this one.
Yeah, it's definitely VERY different. I feel like knowing the real life context certainly helps, given what Pegg had been going through and how personal it was to him in battling his alcoholism.
"How did he survive that though" is a question that can be asked a hundred times in any action movie, and the answer is either "action movie logic" or "main character immunity". :-)
I love the entire Cornetto Trilogy but yeah, I think this one takes the Gold :) I assume you've watched SPACED the channel 4 series where Pegg, Frost and Wright first joined forces? 12 half hour episodes that are basically prototypes for the Trilogy and endless homages to everything you can think of. It's shocking to me how many people have no idea about it. There's also Big Train a sketch series with Simon Pegg and others and I THINK Nick Frost's first scene in anything ever, certainly with Simon Pegg that I'm aware of. But it's one shot of him as a Builder or something, cat calling a pink flamingo string puppet that's walking down a street to weird french music. Yes, if you haven't seen either of these series... What are you waiting for?

I saw this film when I was way too young and obviously the gore scarred me for life - i'm 24 and only now able to watch reactions to this film and see how funny it actually was/wouldve been if I hadn't seen it so young🙈
when you re-watch the film, you will notice that only the bad guys are greeting angel with a "morning sergeant". I just absolutely adore all the foreshadowings in this film
It’s so funny watching this film again because I live in Somerset. Always went to Wells as it’s not too far for me to visit. I always think of Hot Fuzz, I can’t believe this film was filmed over 17 years ago.
Definitely my favourite of the 3, it's relentlessly funny and inventive and just a riot from start to finish. I'd say prepare yourself something a bit more introspective as far as The World's End goes, but you've already seen it by now, interested to see what you think of that.
Fun fact: Hot Fuzz was primarily filmed in the small city of Wells in Somerset! I live near there and it’s pretty amazing to see the church and the market square! My mum even saw them filming Hot Fuzz. 😊
One of my favourite movies of all time. I have seen it a million times and I still laugh. So so good. Definitely prefer this to the other 2 but they are still great
First time I saw this I was sat on the floor of our sports hall at school and I was like 14 and I've been traumatised for like by the sudden gruesome moments in this film 🤣🤣🤣
Janine his ex is played by Cate Blanchett who was Hela in Thor Ragnarok. Jim Broadbent also played a bent copper in Only Fools and Horses called Roy Slater (who along with David Bradley has played the Doctor).
Fun facts: - The man dressed as Father Christmas in the opening was played by Peter Jackson - Janine (Nicholas' ex) was played by Cate Blanchett - The Swear Box at the station has every word censored, except the C word.
Apparently Simon also could not stop from laughing during the scene with Nick spraying the deodorant in that weird way! Many blown takes lol Edit: Also the big storm you guys had recently actually did blow a big piece of that church off! The actor who plays Tim Messenger is fine though.
He was gripping a stress tool. It's a hugely hard resistance medal grip with padding on the handles so you can grip away your stress without hurting yourself.
Great film, definitely my favourite of the trilogy. I'll be interested to see how you feel about The World's End vs Shaun, they're on a similar level for me. Be sure to pay attention to the stuff that's shown but unspoken in Worlds, it's darker than it lets on at times
Also as someone else mentioned, definitely give Paul a watch too. It's not got this directing style, and it's not part of the Trilogy, but it's a great, light-hearted sci-fi comedy with Pegg and Frost, good one if you need an easy-watching pick-me-up, and of course funnier if you're also a nerd and recognise the references.
It's funny. I actually prefer THIS dichotomy of Pegg & Frost compared to their SOTD counterparts. That's one of the reasons why I think Hot Fuzz is the best of the trilogy
Arguably the most quotable movie! You gotta comment your fave quotes here.

Wow did expect a heart thank you,
I had the privilege of studying in the city where this was filmed. This was shown to us on the first evening of our induction course for overseas students. Was entertained and horrified in equal measure. I watch it every September now. What an introduction to life in Great Britain! 😂
I saw this film when I was way too young and obviously the gore scarred me for life - i'm 24 and only now able to watch reactions to this film and see how funny it actually was/wouldve been if I hadn't seen it so young🙈

First one of my favorites enjoy Seb❤️😂

Santa directed Lord of the Rings!
27:03 The pistols hidden in his sleeves reminds me of Moriarty from Sherlock Holmes lol - would love to see Seb watch those films sometime too.
It's always great to see a Brit react to this film, you can pick up on all the more subtle jokes like the accents (e.g. "LonDon")
I bet you would love "Spaced", the comedy TV series that brought Pegg, Frost and director Edgar Wright together as a team for the first time.

"Paul" is also a good movie with the same two leads. It's not one of the cornetto trilogy but I think it's better than "The World's End" personally
Honestly one of my new favourite reactors mate. But if you want a film to pull the heart strings Hacksaw Ridge 2016 is for you.

You must watch the bloopers/outtakes to this, hilarious!
5:26 "how can you make paperwork exciting?" LOL you should see death note 🤣
The “get a look at his arse” echoed near the end of the film with “check out his horse.” One that I missed despite repeated viewings.
I loveloveLOVE Hot Fuzz. It's just so clever. I see some new detail every time! Hilarious and well put together! 😍
"Although we get to see who is is though"
"What? Yarp!?"
🤣 that was good

Thanks for this! Watch "Point Break". Fun fact: The "car chase" (yellow SAAB cab) is the shortest car chase scene in history of film.
british jokes are the best, that why we love the old top gear trio, clarckson , hammond and may
so many awesome actors!!!!!
My favorite cameo was Cate Blanchett! CSI girlfriend

It's funny. I actually prefer THIS dichotomy of Pegg & Frost compared to their SOTD counterparts. That's one of the reasons why I think Hot Fuzz is the best of the trilogy
Edgar Wright is genuinely a genius
