It was in perfect condition with over 220k and I expected to get at least another 100k if an accident hadn't taken her from me. Mine did have the spare on the back so it had amazing under storage in the cargo area. Yes agreed !! I have the Nx turbo, and apparently the manual says there is a cool Down period of any where between 20-5O seconds depending on driving . The fuck, I’ve been shutting off my engine after parking the car for over a year now . I’m hoping I didn’t fuck the car too much.
Don't worry, Shit-UVs will eventually die. With the amount of energy these things require to transport their lazy suburban ass from their kids' school to Walmart, we will run out crude oil in no time.
@That Guy From Legendary Axe i wishthey brought back the old body on frame suvs with the spare wheel stuck on the tailgate which were actually meant for off roading... Those were REAL SUVS
A gas, XSE V6 trim level would’ve been perfect. Thanks a lot Toyota, now I have to either wait and see if this will be offered in the 2020 models or go weigh my options elsewhere.
I went from a 2010 V6 to a 2017 XLE Hybrid. I test drove both gas and hybrid, and the hybrid has more power and is more superior in terms of acceleration. If you haven’t compared the gas with hybrid personally, I’d recommend giving it a try. Nothing beats the V6 but the hybrid engine was enough of a compromise to win me over.
I literally thought those two guys were the same person until they sat right next to each other in the same car. I’ve seen many of their vids and they have so many similarities. It’s kinda cool to see them together.
Toyota uses vinyl in the premium RAV4s. Funny sniglet, in the Tundra cloth is standard, and Toyota reduces the price $285 if you choose the work truck option, which only comes in vinyl upholstery. But yes, the Toyota vinyl upholstery is nicer than the Toyota mouse-fur cloth upholstery. The Toyota vinyl never shows wear or gets an odor. The Tundra vinyl came in a beautiful light gray color, woulda been great in the Ruby red RAV4.
Never buy the top model unless you have the big bucks to live, pay mortgage, credit card bill, take vacations, go to the movies (Avengers Endgame). The hybrid looks so awesome in white with the black roof. I'll buy the base model, thank you.
I personally test drove 2019 RAV4 two weeks ago to buy the XLE-premium trim just to get the blind spot monitoring system. Just few seconds after we started, I got disappointed! The engine noise was so horrible that I asked the dealer guy whether or not we could go back to the dealership right then ! I have no idea why the new RAV4 engine is screaming so loud during the initial acceleration. Also, the driver seat cushion was slightly short for me as a 6’ tall man. On the positive side however, the suspension was great. It could dampen the bumps even better than 2018 Cadillac XT5 I had some experience with earlier. At the end I ended up in another SUV, mainly because of the aforementioned noisy 2.5L engine and slow acceleration. My final word: make sure you test drive it carefully before making up your minds. Don’t spend ~ $ 30k of your money without test driving 2019 RAV4.
According to a Facebook page I’m on a lot of people are having issues with this car already...battery dead...gas mileage incorrect...electronic issues... Such a beautiful car I want to get it but alittle scared of what their experiencing
I have the 2007 RAV4 with the 3.5 v6 4wd sport. It is pretty quick for a cross over. 269 horse power gets you going. Do wish the new adventure came with this 3.5 engine.
My friend has a 2001 model with nearly 500,000 miles, original motor and tranny, new rear end though, leaks oil a bit but other than that still runs great to this day, good vehicles.

@꧁Wesley꧂ that makes no sense. Android can compromise privacy more, but not if you're savvy enough to stop it and it's not like having android auto in a vehicle changes the privacy equation. the truth is its far easier to implement car play due to no fragmentation, but you're shafting a far larger segment of the population - many of which won't consider a car purchase because of that.
Could be normal. I think reverse works off the rear axle and it’s totally electric back there. I have noticed some different noises also. Some of them they went over with us at the dealership.
The RAV-4 in general has always been a great car in Toyota's lineup. I have a 2017 RAV-4 LE and it's a great car to have. Very reliable, fuel efficient, and overall it lasts a long time. Technology is not the most ground-breaking, at least in the 2017 model, but it gets the job done, and for me, that's all I care about.
Sometimes too much tech leads to a ton of expensive repair costs requiring you to get extended warranties. Technology always breaks or needs to be fixed, and it ain't cheap to fix.
Drastic change I'd say from the previous model, but those millions of old Rav 4s will be excellent used cars. although the resale value never drops...ugh!
Its funny how some expect the Toyota line to compare to the upper luxury makes like for instance he states compared to an Acura?? Its a Toyota, not a Lexus. Goes to show you.
Yeah that people like you know very little about cars and then come here and act as if you speak with authority on the matter. I expect it to compete with a JEEP Cherokee or MAZDA CX, I mean the list goes on. Where is the V6? Toyota's owns loyal customers are begging for it or at least put a Turbo in the weak, under powered little nipper engine. Dual exhaust's, LOL what a joke on a very weak Inline 4.
Test drove the xle non hybrid and I absolutely loved it the dealership lady was kinda clueless about anything I asked but it was awesome definitely getting the xle hybrid the mpg is awesome the one thing I hate about it is how cheap the radio looks and feels
I like the interior, but i have to agree on the infotainment stuff,it really looks 10 years old.But in the other hand,i usually find these infotainment systems slow.Any smartphone outperforms these systems...
I can see the genius of Toyota is in this one too. Window, lock control panel on drivers side is tried and true for 20 years and sits on the Tacoma, tundra, 4runner and this rav. Same with the mirror adjustment controls.
sayem 16.4 unfortunately Toyota has no plans to bring back the 3.5 liter v6 to the RAV4. I wish they would too, I still own a 2007 RAV4 Limited with the v6 and I love its power and acceleration.

I do like the new look better than the old one. I personally miss the old boxy suvs, and the oversized front grill is still super annoying. I am glad they have added ground clearence, but if you live in the mountains, you know you need a powerful enough engine for mountain passes... and a 4-cylinder(non turbo) is a deal breaker! I live in the mountains of colorado and my requirments are: good ground clearence, V6 or turbo engine, AWD/4x4, and doesn't look like a mini van. The Rav4 is getting closer, but still misses the mark for what i'm looking for.

Why no 3.5 V6 option from the Camry or the 2.0 T option from the Lexus NX on this vehicle to live up to its sporty looks? I would gladly pay the extra $ but I am guessing it would be a bad business decision for Toyota because of CAFE regulations and I would be “one of the 5%” in the market who would actually pony up for this option. The recent article from TFL car is right. Toyota is all about reliability and efficiency for the masses and not about driving performance and it has been that way for years
Glad to see the new RAV4 is improved. I seriously thought of getting a RAV4 but after having a 2016 RAV4 as a dealer loaner it seemed tippy and noisy. I traded my 2007 Forester instead on a cert-pre-owned 2015 Camry LE off a 2 year lease with 23k miles w/ included 7yr/100k power train warr. I got it for $15,500 because sedans aren't in demand anymore. An equivalent year & model RAV4 was $3k more. Good to know RAV4 is a better vehicle day.
I like the new looks ! Gives you that rhaaawww first impression. Definately beats the current generation CRV to me. Can you show us how it handles in deep snow? Probably one of the best looking SUVs in that class imo. Good job Toyota.
Toyota has done an awesome job with the styling of some of their new vehicles like the rav4 and the corolla hatch. Oh yea the Camry is gorgeous too. So glad they haven't gone to turbocharged engines yet!
MaxSpeed Also the new Avalon and Corolla sedan too. Don't forget about them either.
How about that Android Auto?!??!
yeah, the corolla hatch totally looks like a mazda and this rav4 totally looks like a hyundai. they've done a great job improving their weak spot: design. they did it by basically copying styles, but whatever... it's a toyota. all is forgiven
V6 for lyfe!!!!!
Yes agreed !! I have the Nx turbo, and apparently the manual says there is a cool Down period of any where between 20-5O seconds depending on driving . The fuck, I’ve been shutting off my engine after parking the car for over a year now . I’m hoping I didn’t fuck the car too much.
Looks nice but it also looks like they completely lifted the design of the Volvo XC40.
@Yuzu Apster I was about to say that. More of a Lexus influence. Especially the back. Looks like the RX
I was thinking the same thing - but the Rav 4 is at a much friendlier price point.
Plus the front end doesn't look ugly as shit like the Lexus does.
Why it doesn't have the projector LED headlights on all trims, but only the hybrid?
If I were a soccer mom with a bad attitude, I'd buy this.
Ed Jones well you got one of those things lol
Wow, someone managed to make the RAV4 into a political argument. People are bored.
Lmao, Has that grumpy soccer mom neighbor look right?
i never throught id like a rav4 and youve sold me on this one thinking of buying it hybird to soo dope
RooR CHRISSIE I’m getting more mpg than suggested!
the look on their faces as they floored it!
Nothing beats the V6 but the hybrid engine was enough of a compromise to win me over.
shellyellyo Hmm, I’ll have to give that a try and compare. Thanks for the suggestion.
Miss the V6
Or.....you buy a 2-3 used one a save money on the depreciation.
@@Brazillianboi69 Toyotas hardly depreciate lol...
I want that xse in red interior😍
I literally thought those two guys were the same person until they sat right next to each other in the same car. I’ve seen many of their vids and they have so many similarities. It’s kinda cool to see them together.
I want to see Redline a thank you for this guy who is reviewing the RAV 4. This guy is great very professional. And does an absolutely great review.
Pearl white with Beige or Parchment leather is beautiful. Nice color combo. Lovely review 👍
Just got the Rav 4 Hybrid limited. Was a great overview of the vehicle(s). Keep up the great work.
Damon Broderick what do you think of it?
@@bthojh9849 Great! still on my first tank of gas and i have it @ 34 mpg. The cooled/heated seat come in handy. The 360 camera is great to have.
Thank you for sharing your experience. Have you tried Mazda cx5 2019?
@@vahidoriany6274 Not really. But, i have heard good news about it!
What suv did you end up buying?
GuerreroXBI Prius
So what did you end up purchasing? I am shopping around and looking.
According to a Facebook page I’m on a lot of people are having issues with this car already...battery dead...gas mileage incorrect...electronic issues...
Such a beautiful car I want to get it but alittle scared of what their experiencing
If this had the 3.5 in it... what a monster that would be lol
Bernie on Cars 6.2 liter Corvette Engine! HAHAHA!
My moms '11 rav4 has the v6 fwd with like 260hp. Now thing is fast...
Tina Young no sorry. I meant the looks
Tina Young 4Runner has a 4L v6
I have the 2007 RAV4 with the 3.5 v6 4wd sport. It is pretty quick for a cross over. 269 horse power gets you going. Do wish the new adventure came with this 3.5 engine.
Much better looking than the current rav4 but then again that doesn't mean much
My friend has a 2001 model with nearly 500,000 miles, original motor and tranny, new rear end though, leaks oil a bit but other than that still runs great to this day, good vehicles.
Please test the CX 5 2019 Signature!!
Damnnnn the silver colorway is sick
Your voice is smooth, easy flowing and clear. One tip if I may, please stop saying "actually" at almost EVERY sentence. Otherwise, most professional delivery.
9:03 it sounds like a blender. horrible sound
He's flooring it so it has a rev limiter it's cutting fuel flow to keep the RPM at a max level. So it sounds like it is cutting out. Perfectly normal.
Well, what do you expect from a Rav4? If you want a SUV with good sound get a Land Rover or something, that's not the category for this
But yeah it sounds weird af
Yes the rattling exhaust pipe at 4K rpm doesn’t sound right and all he says is “interesting”. I would say it’s broke and needs to be fixed.
It's fuckin perfect but why no Android auto!? :(
TheDark Knut I just bought one. The engine is very loud.
@꧁Wesley꧂ that makes no sense. Android can compromise privacy more, but not if you're savvy enough to stop it and it's not like having android auto in a vehicle changes the privacy equation. the truth is its far easier to implement car play due to no fragmentation, but you're shafting a far larger segment of the population - many of which won't consider a car purchase because of that.
eugene Why didn’t u get a hybrid then? The 4 cylinder RAV4 shouldn’t be loud.
@Chris Christian Did you drive Xle model? Or the hybrid model?
try one out i bet you change your mind about it being perfect
We tried this the RAV4 Hybrid, RAV4 Prime, Venza, Lexus NX350H and 450h+. Ended up buying the NX350H for my wife.
I miss the old hot rod V6 trims that these used to come in....A new 300hp Rav4 Sport would be nice :D
2021 RAV4 Prime Plug in hybrid over 300hp. 40 miles or more electric range.
I think the new RAV4 will sell very well.
400k sold in 2018, bet half a million in 2019.... next only to Ford F-150 globally...
Interior looks like my 2019 Corolla Hatchback, which I love. Can not wait to get this big brother version.
I'll be getting this one next. It'll be my first SUV/cross over. 😁
You need to be a narrator bro you rock it
Love my Rav. Getting the same mileage I was getting on my old compact. Happy to say the least.
Just bought one and we absolutely love it. We got this exact model. The blizzard pearl paint is very nice.
bkbrown5881 i did bougth one too but my makes a weird sound when i put it in revers.
Could be normal. I think reverse works off the rear axle and it’s totally electric back there. I have noticed some different noises also. Some of them they went over with us at the dealership.
Y’all just can’t stop smiling around each other right 😂👀
how do you like this one compared to Mazda CX5?
The RAV-4 in general has always been a great car in Toyota's lineup. I have a 2017 RAV-4 LE and it's a great car to have. Very reliable, fuel efficient, and overall it lasts a long time. Technology is not the most ground-breaking, at least in the 2017 model, but it gets the job done, and for me, that's all I care about.
Sometimes too much tech leads to a ton of expensive repair costs requiring you to get extended warranties. Technology always breaks or needs to be fixed, and it ain't cheap to fix.
@@acleahcim yeah and the RAV-4 always has tech that is reliable and good to use.
It's just useful comparison info, and how little the difference gaps are
Test drove the xle non hybrid and I absolutely loved it the dealership lady was kinda clueless about anything I asked but it was awesome definitely getting the xle hybrid the mpg is awesome the one thing I hate about it is how cheap the radio looks and feels
Would Toyota ever put the v6 into the new Rav4?
Such a beautiful car on the outside but the interior really lets it down. That SAT NAV/screen looks so outdated! It’s a huge spoiler for me
I like the interior, but i have to agree on the infotainment stuff,it really looks 10 years old.But in the other hand,i usually find these infotainment systems slow.Any smartphone outperforms these systems...
chupacabra20 well, if i want smartphone i'll buy a smartphone not a car
@@SomeThingElseZ that really was a profound statement
chupacabra20 thanks it took me 3 hours to think of it
I agree, Alex!
I can see the genius of Toyota is in this one too. Window, lock control panel on drivers side is tried and true for 20 years and sits on the Tacoma, tundra, 4runner and this rav. Same with the mirror adjustment controls.
I was waiting for Matt to "turn off on this back road right here and see how it does..... teeeeehehehehehehehee!" lol.
I hate crossovers but this thing is impressive. It would be awesome if this thing gets the 3.5l v6.
sayem 16.4 unfortunately Toyota has no plans to bring back the 3.5 liter v6 to the RAV4. I wish they would too, I still own a 2007 RAV4 Limited with the v6 and I love its power and acceleration.
The new 2.5 has pretty much the same hp as the old v6
@@Sicktrickintuner not entirely the old V6 has 269 hp, the new 2.5 at about 220. I won't be able to say how much of a difference it will feel to me until i drive the new Hybrid version.
I hate all these “journalists” keep saying “wish they had this feature like the other high ends would have” This is not a high end car. ugh. He’s the worst car review.
Toyota is all about reliability and efficiency for the masses and not about driving performance and it has been that way for years
ercsan s Day
Glad to see the new RAV4 is improved.
Who else remembers when the RAV4 used to be a compact SUV, this thing is nearly the same size as the 1st gen Highlander!
I like the new looks ! Gives you that rhaaawww first impression. Definately beats the current generation CRV to me. Can you show us how it handles in deep snow? I know for sure the new Forester handles very well(they have a deep snow mode) and i want to compare the two. Reliability/safety are the most important thing for a suv.
Rented one! And it was very nice . Was impressed with the sport mode
It looks like the Litter sister of the 4runner now
WELL THANK YOU FOR YOUR HONESTY AND ADMITTING YOU PREFER THE GAS ONLY MODEL!
This is a great video. I just got a 2012 Toyota RAV4 Limited Edition and I love the 3.5 L V6 mine came with. Thank you for your great work.
FML I just bought an LE!! If I waited a few months I would have been able to get the hybrid 😭
2019 CX-5 Signature is the one to watch out for...
watch out for what? the RAV4 outsells the entire Mazda lineup combined
@@ro0ster648
And?does not mean nothing.
@@ro0ster648 True, but it doesn't mean that RAV4 is a better vehicle; it's a mass market vehicle...
