Great video! Being able to manually type in the number update for the color sliders by x+6 (example the first slider starts at 6 and being able to type 12) would be quicker than having to hit the up arrow 6 times. Just a thought!
Interesting idea, I have some other things up my sleeve that makes this a whole lot easier but that wasn't one I'd considered and I'll think on it for sure.
I've done this, but found the layer change numbers are now not correct. I've had to use my slicer to adjust to about 2 layer count to get the image to be like what is shown in HueForge.
all i want to do is have an stl thats 2.35 mm, why is it so complicated, why cant you just have a box that says thickness, and then let me put in how thick i want the whole thing.
How do you get your slicer to stop at the layer heights? I can get my slicer (simplify3D) to stop on layers like 1,2,3 but not .08,1.4, 1.12 so frustrated!
If you notice, you actually begin to automatically begin to move all the sliders together at the same time at 1:40. This means you can adjust all the colors at once. Did you hold shift, ctrl or alt? You even look surprised that you did it.
As you increase the Max Depth, the sliders all adjust down as the new max is set on the sliders but the mm height of the sliders doesn't change. It isn't that the slider handles are moving, the sliders are getting taller while everything else stays put. It took me a moment to work that out in my head.
Just curious but without digging to deep on this awesome app, can you tell me if it's heavy on resources? Like what are the system requirements? Do I have to go out and purchase a gamers type system just to run this app? If I have to, then no biggie. I'm very impressed excited and interested in learning and using this app. One thing I haven't seen yet is a portrait of a regular Joe/Jane, but I'll keep looking. Thanks for your precious time sir!
No you don't need a beefy PC. A modern built in (Intel Iris or AMD equivalent) and even some older ones will work. Any discrete GPU better than a GeForce 600 (about 10 years old) will work as well.
He thickened the min depth by 0.24mm. His layer height is 0.04mm, so divide 0.24/0.04 = 6 extra layers. So he needs to move each slider up 6 layers now that the print is thicker
I think right now the MAX depth is configurable topping out at 40mm by default (in .usersettings.ini). I think the Min Depth isn't configurable and maxes out at 10mm. This doesn't even count STL Painting mode where I like to set my First Layer to the height of the model before any HueForge mesh and the min/max depths aren't adjustable.
You mean the white slider was all the way at the top already? Then you need to increase max depth by 0.24 as well so you have 6 layers for the white slider to move as well.
@@hueforging Yes, exactly the white one was already at the top. That's why I asked myself, if I now raise the other three controls 6 further, how does it work with the white one when it is already at the top.I wanted to make it thicker
@@3iPhones1 As I said - increase your Max Depth by 0.24 as well (assuming you went from 0.24mm on Min Depth to 0.48mm Min Depth). That increase in the Max Depth gives you room to move up your White slider as well.
I can see some uses for this, but really I think it's better to change the way these values are represented - IE Min Thickness and Blending Depth and then have that automatically float on top and have changes in the Min Thickness automatically be reflected in the sliders.
5cm? Like 50mm? You'd need to update your .usersettings.ini to allow higher than 40mm which is the default. But if you meant 5mm with 2 colors like a QR code, then yes.
@@hueforging oooh, then I had a big misunderstanding, I need the change on every layer. But anyways, I bought the personal edition yesterday and I'll find a way what to do with it, the prints look great!
This is true. It is on my feature roadmap. I actually originally had an "extra thickness" option but it caused multiple issues and bugs and I removed it for now. For now, I suggest finding a min depth you like (I like 0.48mm now) and saving that as your default min depth in Options->Save Defaults. Then you won't ever have to adjust future prints like this.
Stephen, I think this will really help some of the new users (including me). I'm looking forward to your updates!
Excited for more updates. Loving this software!
Awesome software with a great tutorial from the Creator!
Can you put a floating comment describing what that particular feature does when passing your cursor over it?
That is on the roadmap for sure. I do have a couple, but it's mostly about figuring out what people need to know, which I'm doing.

Because part of it needs to not be part of the blending or you will get really fragile prints.

In all the Slic3r slicers they list both the layer number and the mm value, I have never used Simplify 3D to know

If i baught hueforge today, will i receive new uodates? If yes how
Yes. You will get them by email notification with a link to download them.
How did you know to increase them each by 6? I missed that part. Thanks in advance

Is it possible to have the border be a specific color? As opposed to the color of the top layer?
You can make it shorter to pick one of the other color layers or add a swap after the mesh is done
can you increase the thickness beneath?
That is what this does.
What would be the max thickness ? Can we get the first initial layer about … say 5mm , then start the actual magic?

There should be a way to select multiple sliders and move them all in sync
