I no longer blame lawmakers in Congress, because we know who the people are and that they will do nothing because they’ve made their positions clear.
I blame the districts, towns, cities and states that continue to elect these people year after year after year. Not holding them accountable at the ballot box.
Here’s the thing, local schools are under local control. The choice not to have any sort of real security at the school, that would have slowed or prevented the scum from getting into the school was a local choice. The choice not to have armed police or security at the school was a local choice. Whoever heads the police department that engaged the suspect prior to this but lost him was a local choice. Any police activity anywhere near our schools and our schools go into lockdown which is immediate and extensive, that is a local choice that doesn’t seem to have been the case in Uvalde. You are right, local people have delegated their duty to protect their children to a bunch of people in DC who don’t care about them and who will happily use the dead bodies of their children to score political points. Local communities need to decide that the lives of their children are worth at least as much as politicians and money are and demand equivocal security.

I am a retired special education teacher so to hear that a special ed teacher was killed caused even more grief. My heart is breaking for the victims and their families. I just want to know when these tragedies are going to end. Enough is enough Sen. Cruz and Gov. Abbott with your backing of the NRA.
NRA is not your problem, women. It was a 18 year old boy who dressed as a women. Do you need anymore clarifications as to what the problem is? All these sheeps keep saying “ gun problem, gun problem” but its politically incorrect to call it what it is, right? It was mentally ill.
This hurts me so much, those kids barley even lived their lives, they died in such a young age! This makes me cry extremely hard. This is highly depressing, This hurts my heart so much. I really hope those kids who were the victims are living a happy, healthy life in heaven. I hope God protects those kids and I hope the 2 teachers live happily as well.
They won’t be living happily or live happily they are dead. Dead means no more life. After life means after you are alive thus dead regardless of your spiritual beliefs. Oh yeah also if you are not related in some way to these poor souls no one cares that this hurt you. This isn’t about you it’s about them and their families and friends.

Usually before a mass shooting occurs, the person displays warning signs and red flags on social media he's about to do something really bad. That happened again in this case. When people see something threatening on social media, they need to contact authorities right away. Don't wait!!!

Just saw an interview with one of the officers who is a spokesperson for the Texas Dept. of Safety.He says that there was a confrontation in front of the school with the armed suspect and local law enforcement just before he entered the school. So he didn't just walk in. What I don;t understand is why wasn't the school immediately locked down while this was occuring? The people inside had to know something was going on outside the school.

It may be that I'm now 42 years old and see the world differently than when I was younger but this is so soul crushing. Those were kids man, baby's! We need to do better and not let our kids grow up to be the 18 year old. Teach your children to have love and compassion for one another. Everyone is talking about guns, and I get it, I really do but it starts at home with parenting. Its just sad man.

WHY weren't the parents of the surviving children given IMMEDIATE access to their traumatized children??!!!! There is NO excuse to withhold them!! Our laws protect minors from being questioned by police WITHOUT PARENTS PERMISSION!!! Why did they keep these parents from their children??? Lawsuits need to be filed against whomever made the decision to not allow parents access to their children as soon as they arrived and were identified as a parent!!! This is horrific!!

Did the news say yesterday that the cops were chasing him before he entered the school? How come the cops didn't stop him knowing he was Armed and wearing body armor? The cops have all the guns in the world and yet he still made it into the school the cops are also at fault here

I agree, the New York Post just reported that witnesses and survivors are saying the police waited 40 minutes until a tactical team arrived before they entered the building. Witnesses say they begged police to enter. They could hear the bullets and the screams all that time.

This was a hit of border patrol. Many of the kids killed had border patrol parents. The shooter was a lib/commie
You do need background checks to get guns already, and it doesn't look like this kid had any previous incidents that would have shown up on a check either. But you keep blaming everyone but the person who's to blame.
It's sad truly but nothing will change, people will mourn and then a month or so later move on and forget. Then another shooting will happen people will call for change and mourn again and so on it is an endless cycle sadly. Thoughts and prayers do nothing and remembering the anniversary will become very familiar as the shootings will just continue to happen

If they just had better security and practiced the lockdowns it woudln't have been as fatal, it is highly irresponsible for a school to just have doors unlocked with no supervisor. You guys have a combination on high rates of bullying in every single school which you do nothing about, high rates of gun ownership which I don't care how much you guys cry about this, it's clearly a problem that should be dealt with, and laxing security in schools.
Gunss ownership is not a problem on its own, but you combine it with the other factors and it's clear what's the problem and how to alleviate it.
You would think after all the shootings throughout all these years schools would be locked and students checked for guns before entry. No one should be allowed to just walk into any school in this country without a security check outside first.
