      @javion, my city, Virginia Beach, had a mass shooting in a city building. Four floors and a basement. They went immediately not knowing where the shooter was at the time of entry. They saved many lives and victims were immediately treated. Once was treated in an ambulance which drove to meet up with the medical helicopter, Nightengale, from the trauma one hospital, the medics have whole blood in hand for immediate transfusions, special injectable bullet tourniquets, pressure bandages. Some of those children bled out waiting for help.

      The fact that she was trying her best to keep calm just broke my heart. My generation and generation Alpha have grown up with this constant fear in school, and many have become desensitized to the grief. We had a bomb threat one year, a shooting threat the next, and then a lockdown the next year because someone brought a gun on campus and he was arrested. The doors were always locked, the classroom windows were covered and replaced with thick glass, and we were given "run, hide, fight" style training in homeroom class. I am at the point where I don't want to have kids, unless I move to another country. Lawmakers need to WAKE UP and realize this has been going on for TWENTY YEARS. We need to crack down on gun control. We need to ban assault-style weapons. I am absolutely disgusted and have so much hate in my heart for the politicians who have done NOTHING to stop this.

America has the best armed mass murderers in the world. That crazy kid was able to buy two AR 15 assault style semi automatic rifles on his birthday. He came armed with 1,600 rounds of ammunition, the nice large type that when it hits the body, tumbles through it since it’s shot at such high velocity. But stay focused on that door. Like he couldn’t have walked up to a window and shot out the glass and just stand outside and kill children through the windows.

    I am a retired LEO from TX. Hung it up in 2020. I started my career in the FD. I was also a licensed paramedic. I was not a SWAT operator but was on our local multi-agency active shooter response team because I was a paramedic and LEO. I worked in central TX in a town about the same size as Uvalde. I obviously don't know the facts or circumstance those initial responding officers faced but they are going to have to answer some tough questions why they waited an hour for the tac team. I have trained many hours for a scenario like this and thankfully never had to experience it for real. I am trying real hard not to armchair coach but I, along with many others have some serious questions on the actions of law enforcement with the timeline provided so far.

I, too, have gone through so many drills to be prepared for worst if all situations fires, earthquakes, hard lockdown, soft lockdown, etc). The shooter's location should have easily been determined and then somehow ambushed. I have always had respect for LEOs but I'm struggling right now.

    • @E_Designs
      @E_Designs Год назад +13

      If you were a LEO, than you know what the officers are doing right now: they're contriving an excuse for their pathetic actions just like they did in Broward County Florida. In that case, the school resource officer, Scott Peterson, now know as the Coward of Broward, ran and hide while he listened to the sounds of students dying. Subsequent officers from BSO also took cover and refused to enter. Officers from Coral Springs arrived and admonished the BSO deputies for their cowardice. The Coral Springs officers entered while BSO watched, but it was too late: the shooter had already walked away to get a snack.
      This incident is just another example of why people should take measure to defend themselves. When seconds count, it will take LEO's an hour to do anything.
