Cops don't want to die for someone else, they are not hardcore operators. These aren't navy seals. People like that go to war, they don't become town cops.
Everyone needs to adjust their expectations. Cops never saved people from threats. Self defense is the only way. It always was. Why would cops get in front of a bullet for your child? It doesn't make sense. They aren't paid anywhere near enough for that...they spend most of their time giving traffic tickets.

@@hasinai Only within a narrow set of circumstances, such as an individual in police custody. Warren vs District of Colombia(1981), which involved police not protecting three women during a home invasion, ruled that 'a government and it's agents are under no general duty to provide public services, such as police protection, to any particular citizen.
In the above mentioned Castlerock vs Gonzales(2005), a court ruled that police are under no obligation to enforce a restraining order.
The Supreme Court has upheld similar rulings.
The Police have NO duty to protect any one of the general public. Police are Law Enforcement. They enforce laws, that's it. If a person is under threat of harm, the police are under no obligation to step in and help the potential victim. They are only obligated to stop the criminal after the fact.
This was made clear during an altercation on a New York subway, in which a knife-wielding attacker went after some people. A good samaritan stepped in and stopped him, getting wounded in the process. Two NYPD officers were watching the whole thing through the window of the door to the next subway car. After it was all over and the attacker was under control, the officers stepped in and took over. The good samaritan had to get his knife wounds stitched, and brought the cops to court for failing to 'protect and serve'.
The judge overseeing the case ruled that the two NYPD officers acted well within their sworn duties.
      That ruling has been affirmed.
Cops are not your protector. They are enforcers. If they happen to protect you or others in the course of their duty, that's because the cop in question decided to do more than is legally required of him.

Training my ass, the Uvalde police department had all just completed active shooter training not long before this incident happened. So to say they did nothing wrong is absolutely bullshit. They stood at the door for what seemed like an eternity.
    This is disgusting

Ironically it was an american prosecutor at the Nuremberg trials that established "following orders" is not a valid defense. Now we have an American invesigator here arguing that some cops ahould be exonerated because they were following orders.

As a Ex Marine, every Marine MOS starts with 03! That designate infantry "Grunts" meaning that when crap hits the fan! And It makes the sound M-A-R-I-N-E! that means everyone is thought basic fire team formations and rules! so everyone is picking up a firearm! If caught in a ambush! You don't run from enemy fire but charge the postion of the enemy making him stand or run as you approach a person in a prone posture firing up! Running away is only going to get you back shot!
Are you telling me the initial 5 officers on the scene! couldn't have had one officer hold open the classroom door from behind the door while the other 4 with weapons locked, cocked and ready to rock! Enter the breached door at double time speed firing at the single suspect, killing him instantly?
WTF? The person sitting down even if behind objects or other people would've been at a disadvantage as a 4 officers enter the room almost simultaneously firing at the subject! Yes they might've been wounded or killed? But I guarantee one thing the subject would've been dispatched instantly? And maybe some? Maybe all would not have bleed out on the floor?
Waiting while 376 officers, who were Cowards and playing rock, paper scissors to figure who would breech the door!
As the other coward on the other side was still firing into a pile of bodies! Begging for officers to enter and put an end to his miserable existence!
This fact finding mission only adds to the misery of the Children and Teacher's families! This is just a CYA for cowardly officers and the City itself just like Governor Abbott's initial statement of how quickly the Law Enforcement Officers responded to the scene risking life and limb!
Bullshit! Every Law Enforcement Officer at the Scene should've resigned just out respect of the dead! COWARDS !!
I wish these Families Peace and Justice for their losses!

Law enforcement is not required by law to protect you from anything. So why do we need them and what do we need them for?

Elected officials need pawns to protect buildings and act as a distraction when the officials need to hide. They’re just pawns and flesh barriers for the wealthy and nothing more than property being used. Without them elected officials would fear the public and face accountability for their actions. The police are the true societal slaves and just want to make the public feel the fear and lack of free will that they feel every waking moment.
