    Awesome progress! Maybe try the steering wheel from the wreck to see if it’s paddles work first. Just a thought.
    I think your car has a modified LCI wheel, like mine, so some resistors in the paddles have been removed for the paddles to work. Would be a quick test.

    andrew i did a bit of digging around on the net and the paddle shifters in your car are not the same as the dct ones apparantly the resisters in them are different use the dct paddles or pull one apart and check what resistance they have and replace the resistors in your original ones i found it on 1 addict under dct paddle swap hope this helps cheers glenn

    Not sure if this is relevant for E series but I recently upgraded the Kombi in my F series and one of the gauges wasn't displaying. Issue was Zeitkriterium (production date) was not the same as when the new cluster was availble so gauge didn't work as it saw the car as the older version that didn't come with the function. I updated the Zeitkriterium to a newer date when it was available and coded the Kombi and worked. So might fix your DCT not displaying correctly on your cluster.

    Darn 17ts didn’t even seem to hold up a year. DCT swap seemed pretty intense but I’m glad you got it worked. You are brave for even making attempt.

      @@ZeroTo60Tube of course it’s fixable, but are those 17ts worth your time if you have to take the turbo(s) off? I replaced my wastegates and internals on the stock snails with the Turbolabs of America kit and it has been solid but if i had to take them off again I’d rather upgrade to 19ts or something with more flow. Maybe you can do the same on those turbos if you do choose to keep them. I believe the kit runs something like $250 usd

    Chuffed this swap has worked out so well! I’m running JB4, FBO with a DCT, it does some funky shifting when the box is cold with mild boast… but only sometimes. Once you beat a little heat into it she’s golden. Looking forward to the content on the diff and xhp flash!

    Yep, very fast shifting guys! I saw a video about BMW DCT's and the test driver said it shifts in 0,4 sec to the next gear.
    That's quick indeed. Very curious about that XHP tune on this DCT. I actually don't know what to expect... Dutch regards, Nico.

    I had the exact same wastegate rattle randomly one night (i also have 17ts thanks to you 😂) one of the arms was stiff wd40d it instantly went away so i did the same thing for a week and after 4k miles nothing since worth the shot bud and as for the upshift untill you xhp it it will automatically upshift once xhp flash the box can bounce off the limiter 👌🏼

    you really need XHP DCT on Stage 3. A because of the torque and B because simply transforms your DCT
    Congrats to the best transmission ever built! With the new V1.3 XHP you can boost up to 1k Nm of Torque and won´t have any issues. But also the programming was amazing. In D, D Sport, M Sport with DSC off you will have different shift speeds and it is simply amazing.

      Today I recognized that if the car is in Sport Mode and I deactivate the DSC while driving, the throttle behaviour changes (it has less power even at the same throttle position). Is that normal or related to MHD or xHP? Thanks!

    Your beemer looks like it is running great with the DCT. It will interesting to see the difference in the 0 to 60 times when you get similar engine tunes and xhp installed in the DCT. It would be good to compare the time lost with gear changes in your datalogs between the DCT with standard tune, DCT with xhp tune and the 6AT with xhp tune.

    It will shift in manual automatically sometimes with the DSC/ABS fault. My N55 DCT would shift by itself when revving out, but it would do it early (3k rpm)

    Wastegate rattle might be tune related with the move to MSD81. Check the pre-control table as that sets where the wastegates sit off boost.

      Well being jb4 they are controlling the wastegates. I haven’t changed any settings in the jb4 yet. So will see if I can quieten it down. That’s said it’s only one of the wastegates. So it’s a bit strange.

      B58s are dope, but just so much money at the moment. One day they will be a bit more affordable.

      Honestly what is the thought process behind that? Can build the n54 for so much cheaper than you could even source a stock b58 from and let's not ignore the b58 injector issues its not a flawless motor by any means

      @@bimmerfab it’s a way better engine on paper n54 literally had everything break around the engine 😂 , but the aftermarket for b58 is gonna be really big because of the Supra and newer technology, I can upgrade my hpfp and dp and intake and have at 500whp car for like cheap to nothing, me personally am a engine fan so when I see different bore sizes I want it

      @@CycloneXCry yeah exactly ON PAPER , there's not even that many modded b58s over 100k miles making real power, just give it some time the hpfps will be going out the injectors going out and forsure new problems will arise as people start pushing them harder.

    Im on the fence on the XHP flash for 6At. Does it require a trans cooler after flashing it?

      Personally i think you are running anything more than stock power you should have a trans cooler regardless. You wanna keep the trans under 100 degc.

      In Australia a DCT swap will set you back around 10k if you buy the parts seperately second hand from a wrecker. However much cheaper to buy a donar car and get the parts that way.

    Hey mate, I've got a 2008 335i DCT and I've been told my mechatronics unit is buggered... Have you got a spare gearbox or a spare mechatronics unit I could buy? Preferably just the mech unit because I'm in the UK... I've got a baby on the way and this is going to cost over £4,500 to fix. The whole car is only worth about £7,000.

      What was the problem with the car and did a new mechatronics units fix it. So many people end up wasting money on that because mechanics jump to that conclusion

      Right, so the symptoms of my mechatronics failure was the gearbox missing 2nd, 4th and 6th gear if I recall correctly. Reverse definitely worked, and it was either the odd or even gears that were missing. The cause, we think, was that I had incorrect software installed on the gearbox ECU (I wanted to enable launch control as my car didn't have that feature until the software update) and the fix was the mechatronics unit. £4500 direct from a Getrag supplier on eBay. BMW wanted £7000 for the part. I took it to a BMW specialist (not a dealer, but they are ex BMW master techs or whatever they're called and with a new mechatronics unit, transmission oil change, new sump and filter etc, it worked perfectly. All 7 gears again. Hope that helps somebody out there.
