Your clutch will feel spongy or soft until you drive it for a few days / weeks. Then the feeling will change completely, same happened when I did a clutch change.

I'm glad you got the car up to the power level it is and that it's running right. As for BMWs turbo cars, it's NOT the first even by a long shot, even if you don't consider diesels. The 2002 turbo was the first production turbo petrol car for BMW and there was also the E23 745i. On top of that, many models tuned by Alpina, etc.
The 2002 turbo was built in mid 70s so more than 40 years ago by now. Also, many BMW engines are built with room for plenty of more power, but there are so many JDM and muscle guys in the states that it's not common knowledge over there I guess. Plenty of boosted BMW builds in Europe though, and many BMW engines can handle double (or more) their stock output with stock internals. Same goes for many Mercedes, Audi and Volvo engines.
You get the compressor surge sound when there isn't enough pressure to open the BOV, so it goes back in to the compressor wheel. This will happen when you let off at low/mid boost depending on how you have your bov set up. Looks like its running nice!
After you install LSD + proper suspensions setup, take it out on road courses! It would be fun to run both 335 and GT350 on the track and compare the lap times.
I have a 2001 BMW 330ci 5 speed, and I am 99% sure this is the car im buying in the next coming months. I want it to be a 6 speed, Black on Black, and under 110k miles. My literal Dream car, other than the e46 m3 and the new m4 of course.

You should get a flex fuel system, so the map adjusts itself given the fuel or mix of fuel you are using :)
magicUse jb4 has the flex fuel sensor nls antilag ect...and aj can run a backend flash on it so it all works together

Turbo sounds👍🏼 also Adam tint the windows in the BMW to prevent fad on the beautiful interior and just to make the car look good with black windows.
