- Let's unbox and discuss the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster collection for the PS4 . I have STRONG thoughts on the latest release by Square Enix and express these in the second half of this video. The FF pixel remaster consists of Final Fantasy 1, Final Fantasy 2, Final Fantasy 3, Final Fantasy 4, Final Fantasy 5 and Final Fantasy 6.
Square Enix need to release more copys of this for the fans! But have the FF fans that did secure been taken for a ride and ripped off? Check out this video and see for yourself when I unbox the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster Collection for the Playstation 4.

The whole physical release has been a debacle. Shadow dropping limited quantities is such an anti consumer practice
Its really atrocious. I still think there's an element of the company wanting to build hype for selling digital copy's and future Square Enix titles such as FFXVI. I wonder how many people have pre ordered the Final Fantasy 16 Collectors Edition in fear that they'll miss out on it like most people have done with this?
Just paid £520 for the switch collectors version! And apparently the ps4 even rarer ! Don’t know how many copies were made but clearly not many!
A shockingly small amount. It's a joke how few were made... Completely unnecessary in my opinion 😔
@@VALUEMYGAMING I think they do that with certain games to keep it prestige! I wasn’t lucky enough to get a pre order but happy to add it to the switch collection, got to say grew up with the nes/snes but really enjoy collecting for the switch , probably my favourite console!
Loved your unboxing. Loved the second part where you share your thoughts. I 100% agree with you. The FF fanbase is strong and everyone should have been able to order one. Its like yo Squeenix dont you want money? Why print 50 copies? Doesnt make any damn sense. I personnally missed the preorder window because it launched out the blue at a ridiculous hour in the US (like 1 am and was sold out at 3 am)... the hell??? Anyway fortunately for me my friend had my back. He ordered 2 and sold me one for MSRP. I still cant believe people cant even buy a regular copy in store? Like man its Final Fantasy, you will sell TONS of copy. Why make it so limited... Square Enix is literally promoting the scalpers community and hitting the fans directly in the face right there...whatever.
My theory is that as all 6 games were originally square titles and not square enix, a large portion of the profits from the pixel remaster collection actually goes to employees of square that no longer work for square enix. It's not as profitable for the company as say FFXVI so they really don't care about it. But by limiting it's release, it also puts fear into those who missed out and will prote future sales of games such as ff7r part 2 and ffxvi. They are hoping it will cause people to hit that pre-order button instantly.

I have the collection digitally but even with the new font, the games are difficult to play in handheld mode on the Switch because the font is too small. This is especially true on the Switch Lite with the game being almost unplayable, I hope they patch this 😢
I hope they patch it too my friend! It's an expensive purchase and we deserve the best experience!

I agree completely! It was most definitely a rip off. I just hope fans that want a standard physical copy can get hold of one soon directly from SE. The sooner they announce there intentions in regards to the "waiting list", the better! People are less likely to pay scaler prices if they know that they'll eventually be able to bag a copy from Square Enix. Thank you for checking out the vid.

If you have a waiting list on the US Square Enix store for this game Dad, I highly recommend listing your name on it as scalpers in the UK are currently trying to get £300 just for the standard version!! Its very hard to get hold of over here buddy. I doubt it will ever be easy to get hold of at this rate.

waiting list is a good thing, lets them calculate the profits and know its lucritive to incentivize them to make more copies.
also these were on steam for a while, ive been playing these for months now. only the console digital people beat us to them.
my collectors edition comes in the mail tomorrow. im in this for almost 400.00 USD because i bought them on steam first, but i love FF6 and i want all the versions physical. The lenticular slip cover is what broke me on getting collectors edition over normal.
the scalpers went full tilt with copies 3 times the retail price before they even have them in hand, seen collectors editions for over 900 USD, so on the bright side, paid a mint for a copy, didnt pay scalpers prices and theres a decent chance the value will go up
The value will almost definitely go up, I agree. I also agree that the waiting lists can be a good thing too. I think the problem a lot of people have got is the lack of communication from Square Enix, they haven't actually confirmed they are making more copy's so I think there's people out there that only feel even more frustrated by the implementation of the waiting list.
Scalpers in the UK are currently trying to get £300 just for a standard copy, I hope SE put out a statement sooner rather than later so people don't feel the need get ripped off and then get the opportunity to buy directly for SE shortly afterwards for retail price.
My issue is similar in regards to Square Enix's lack of communication. They responded to my email by stating that they had issues with there supplier and acknowledged they knew copy's of the game were being shipped late. When were they going to inform the customers? They didn't.
That all being said, I'm looking forward to diving in to 6 amazing games! and I agree, FF6 ROCKS dude!

I’m not in a position to comment on the cost, I buy dollies ffs 😂 but it does seem a lot of money. Release roll out sounds shambolic, I fear with most companies now they just don’t care anywhere near as much as the fans do. Hopefully the plus is you have it and the whole experience doesn’t get tarnished because of the rest
I've drew a line under it now. But for a lot of people they are in a very different position where they are still being messed around completely unnecessarily. It's such a shame. One thing to remember is that Square Enix didn't develop these games, so it's possible they don't get 100% of the profits unlike newer titles. Profits may need to be shared with ex employees. food for though. cheers bro 😃👍
Are the games on cartridge or do you have to download them? If I play it can I resell it?
I completely agree with you,I'm still not over the ridiculous way they released yokai watch 3 in the US ,not only was the game preorder only and few copies,but from release day it was online for 50+ ,I couldn't find it anywhere for a good price, finally had to buy a complete copy for 299 dollars,places and certain people are greedy little F***s and I even messaged the person who sold me the game I love this franchise and have wanted to have and play this game for years and I had to pay your scalpers price just to do it,I hope you choke on it.

Yeah, its disgraceful how some of these big company's are trying to drive sales these days. With big releases such as this they should be trying to cater for the fans but in reality they are not. I still believe that there's an element of trying to build hype around a franchise in the hope it forces fans to pay ridiculous prices for future releases... in this case FFXVI and FFVII Remake part 2, I wonder how many people have pre ordered the collectors edition of FF16 out of fear of missing out due to the release of the FF pixel remaster??

Love Square Enix, but their store is poor. Terrible communication and customer service in my experience. Sadly.
They really do need to do better going forward! this release was an utterly shambles... in some ways it still is because people on the waiting list still don't know if there actually making any more! It sucks mate. I'm a huge square enix fan too... I hope it gets sorted my friend!
