he must have known the potential backlash this decision would cause, because now the people who gave the game a good review are now counted on a list of people to not trust in the game review space because they took the bribe and shilled for the game.
adversely, people are now going to put their trust in him more than any other streamer because he was willing to speak out on this and what he was unwilling to do, which will give him far more support to his channel, i didn't know about this guy before this statement was released, and now i'm thinking of subbing to him just because of how he handled this situation, much respect.
all these other people who caved to the bribe, they are on a do not trust list, i hope they lose subscribers over this.

I think it's funny that in this case they are trying to excuse the benefits as customary in the industry, in other industries you are already dismissed if you accept a pen from someone outside your own company

Theory has had some bad takes that I disagree with but I 100% respect his integrity. *He is the anti-shill!* They will try to tear him down for being too honest and unwilling to play their games but the real fans will support Theory for this. Much respect.

I wouldn't call him handsome by my metrics, but he absolutely has integrity and a backbone and I certainly respect the dude for it.
I am not really someone who is going to digest his sort of content (I generally don't go in for pundits, regardless of what the context for them is), but the little of his stuff I have seen he seems to have a lot of respect for the Legends stuff, and for me Legends *is* the canon and everything that's come through Disney is bizarre fanfiction.
The weirdest thing for me is that all those people who took the bribe and had photos of themselves with toy lightsabers, went to Disneyland and got armfuls of Star Wars toys and such like, are grown-ups. Adult human beings. I can't imagone being that wrapped up in anything I consume, especially not the really corporate, bland stuff like Disney pimps. Toys are for little children. I had SW toys when I was a kid, but by the time I was about 10 or 11 I was over all that. There's a whole generation in the west who need to grow the fuck up.
100% there's a large number of these people out there. Childless men, obsessed with games, marvel, sw and toys. It's very sad. And when you call them out just watch how upset they get.
I'll disagree on one point. I'd love to have a few lightsabers. Just not from Disney lol. I wish I had the physical ability to LARP again.
But you are correct in mistrusting pay to play 'reviews' . By virtue of the troops and gifts, any statements about the quality and enjoyment factor of the game must be suspect where at the very least taken with the grain of salt.
Bit not just for having/wanting lightsabers and other goodies. It's all about value received for value given - value does not always equal money.

It sounds like this Star Wars Theory guy is in a good position where it would be difficult to tempt him with an offer that might have him compromising himself.
Hopefully everyone else will be able to say NO to what might look like a "great" opportunity to "advance".

People that actually like Disney Star Wars and pay for the content and merch and enjoy it, I can respect even if disagree with them. But Disney shills who are paid to like Disney Star Wars and the only reason they like Disney Star Wars is the clout it brings them; I can't respect that. Access media is beyond anathema to me, because it defeats the purpose of journalism which is to tell the truth. Being paid to be a fan of something makes no sense to me.
