The Star Wars Fanbase Is Incredibly Frustrating

  • I have grown increasingly frustrated with Star Wars fans recently. I can't believe how many people actually dislike Ahsoka. Disliking the show is one thing, but some fans are just being flat out haters. It has also been difficult to have conversations with some of them. Some fans have the highest expectations I have ever seen. The fandom needs to get back to having fun again because there is always something cool or memorable you can find in these shows.

This is the main reason why i always enjoyed Star Wars alone
with my family and my friends.
Cause i as a normal, fair, honest and most very well balanced fan of Star Wars has always liked what i liked, enjoyed what i enjoyed and just ignore it any annoying fan or fanboy and tell them to either go away, piss off or else their will be some serious trouble and they won't even like it.
Cause i just do not care of what they think of anymore and all that i want is to be in peace, harmony and serenity from all the stress.

I genuinely enjoy the show. My only complaint is that they leaned too much into the "wise Jedi" trope with Ahsoka. Yes she is older than she was in the Clone wars/ Rebels era but she doesn't feel like the Ahsoka we know until Dave directed episode 5 and then we start to see a little crack in her armor and she feels a bit more like herself. Perhaps that was by design with the events that transpired in episode 5, but I think that might be why some people don't like it, which I get, but I think it offers so much more than that. I like the characters and the new lore they are presenting, and all the little details that give characters a bit more meaning that a lot of people might not get. It's a cool little addition.

They could have leaned more into her doubts, insecurities and fears and it would have made that moment more impactful. They could have shown more about how shaken she was by Anakin's fall and fear of the dark side and it would have made episode 5 a bit more impactful

This is like a doctor complaining that only sick people come to see her. Or a casino owner complaining that all their visitors are obsessed with gambling.
Stars Wars was a valuable property, worthy of paying $4 billion for, because it had an audience that was irrationally committed to it. It had an audience of people would buy the toy, read the book, by the comic book because they were so committed to the idea. The absurd nonsense is to be surprised that a group of people whose primary distinguishing characteristic is irrational commitment to the “ universe” should be bothered when the producer of their content shows zero commitment to the” universe”.
The casuals don’t care, but they’re not the ones who stand in line to see the next movie or spend their last dollar buying books and merch.

Everything in this video is very well put. I think that, at the end of the day, this really comes down to the live and let live philosophy. It is impossible for everyone to like and feel the same about everything, but, to me, it's common decency and frankly a matter of respect that if you don't particularly like something the way someone else does and you feel strongly about it, just let them be. No one should be forcing their opinions down the throats of others; it shouldn't bother anyone so much that another person likes something they don't. A debate is fine, that's healthy. But, there's no point at all in the extremism and trying to bring others down or belittling or bullying them for having a differing opinion. It doesn't even validate your own, it just makes you seem less secure about your own standpoint. Unfortunately, this is a common toxic theme with any hardcore fandom. Painfully annoying.
If you dislike something slightly, sure, have a debate, have at it so long as you're respectful. If you dislike something so much that you feel an incessant need to belittle, bully, or make fun of people for liking this simply because you don't, then just... move on to something else. I'll never understand the want to waste time and energy on something you hold such a heavy dislike for.

    Good video.
The main problem with the fandom is the same as other hardcore fandoms … “if it isn’t what I think it should be, it is bad. If you like it, you are wrong”.
Everyone is entitled to an opinion but that is all it will ever be … hardcore fans, generalist fans, barely fans, only fans (🙃)… all just opinions in the end with no more weight given to one over the other. Not nowadays.
I didn’t watch the animated stuff because … I just didn’t. Sorry if that makes me a bad fan, I guess.
However, it’s kind of a moot point considering I love Ahsoka, and I don’t care what other fans say. I think the show has a lot of charm that had been missing … and it’s well made. It has good pacing. It has good characters. The story is nuanced but still exciting. It is objectively a good show … which I think should honestly be enough at this point.
Toxic fandoms are worse than the entertainment they complain about.
I will never understand what old fans want. Would you rather them leave Star Wars be and never make anything else or do you just want things made exactly how you think it should be? One of those is at least realistic.
I’d rather them throw some spaghetti at the wall to see what sticks with the most people instead of just never getting anything else from the universe we all love. I’m easy to please though and I would rather enjoy things for what they are instead of constantly living with the angst that things aren’t as I think they should be. Shrug.

Thank you for at least understanding the points I am trying to make. Everyone is going to enjoy and consume these shows and movies differently. It’s better when people have your mindset….just be easy going and check out the things that interest you.
It’s fun to talk about these shows and debate the good and bad stuff, but people take it way too far. I understand why people are upset with Disney because their track record with Star Wars has not been great. But what’s the point of sticking around the franchise if you are just going to hate and argue with people all the time. It’s the whole reason why I made this video and you get it. Take care.

As hard as it can seem form people who liked the sequel trilogy, it's better to assume that someone isn't going to attack you or is brainless, though with he world we're in it's hard to not be defensive as most people just attack out of defense, and it just makes a mess

I enjoyed the show myself. Nothing really stood out to me as egregious in the story, tho I do question the shift towards the Nightsisters and the "magic" of the force slowly creeping in, as it feels off. Or maybe it's just the fact that I grew up with the first movies making the force feel weaker, more enigmatic, and less like 'magic' to me. That said, I also went back to watch all of the Clone Wars, which solidified how cool Ahsoka could be (seriously, that fight with Maul in the last season? *chef's kiss*). On a whim, I watched Rebels end to end... And it weirdly gave me an appreciation when Ahsoka (the show, not the character) came out a few months later. I think really my biggest complaint with Ahsoka was that Hera in live action looked 'off' to me in a way I couldn't properly define. Unlike Sabine and Ezra, in live action she felt weirdly cartoony (visually, the acting was solid). That said, for only 8 episodes, the series told a surprisingly compelling story that makes me wonder if it's going to split into 2 stories going forward (One with Thrawn, and one on the planet). It really is a shame Ray Stevenson passed away, as he was killer as Baylon Skoll. Absolutely knocked it out of the park. The fact we'll never get to see another Skoll/Ahsoka battle really pains me. At least Shin Hati is still around, and can hopefully pick up the mantle, because I think Filoni really had a lot weighing on Ray's performance in continuing the series. Best laid plans of mice and men, as the saying goes.

The reason "Why" is simple, people have been disappointment too much. They expect to be disappointed. They go into a new show with the expectation and when you expect it, you usually find it. I can only count myself fortunate that i am capable of not being disappointed though it came close when it started with another McGuffin chase to find the magical map to show the way to someone who was lost. Fortunately it worked this time because in hindsight, after seeing several episodes, it actually made sense but some people probably didn't stay around for that. Anyways, the biggest problem with Star Wars is the baggage of failure that it has which condemns some really good shows such as "Andor" which i felt was amazing.

LOL. Star Wars should be well beyond "Emmy Worthy". We're talking about one of the most beloved Film Franchises of all time. Had the original trilogy been released as episodes on TV it would have been the greatest achievement in Television history and probably won a record number of Emmy's. Are mediocre television shows dressed up with big CGI budgets the new bar for Star Wars success?

Andor was amazing, the Mandalorian was great, and Ahsoka may turn out to be very good but there have been other series that have been "Meh" to outright bad and following the sequels, Star Wars really needed to be great for a few series in a row without the "Meh" and the bad spoiling it.

As someone who has felt the way you're expressing since Episode 7 came out and suddenly was finding myself surrounded by hordes of "THe PrEQueLS weRE GoOD, actUALLy" after being one of few prequel defenders that I knew for years, I really appreciate hearing you say "the fun is having normal and respectful discussions, regardless of whether we agree or not". For most of my life, the fun of Star Wars has been the sandbox that it presents, "imagine if this happened" or "what if they did this"; imagining you are the director and writer and saying "this is what I would have done" and other self-inserting was a lot of the fun, and it seems like this has evolved to an absolutely wretched entitlement (and I'll fuckin say it, I don't give a fuck anymore) where these total losers will wield their nostalgia as a toxic blade ready to hurt anyone and everyone, regardless of the consequences.
(Not for you, but for the toxic assholes that might read my comment and feel the need to say something to me: The fundamental reality at play here is that Star Wars is not now nor has it ever been ours. It exists because other people make it, not because of the fans and the people that make it don't owe us anything no matter how you rationalise it. Take every single "StAR wars woULDN't EXiST IF IT WAsn't FOr THE FAns" take you have and for real, shove it. We don't own it. Lucasfilm owned it at first, and now Disney owns it. If you don't like that basic fundamental truth, go join your local Communist Party and lets get to work on abolishing copyright. In the meantime, pound sand.)
I'll be honest and say that I pretty much love every piece of Star Wars media I've ever watched, read, or played, regardless of the quality ("hey Tom, want to watch the Holiday Special?" "yes idgaf it's Star Wars"). I used to be open to being critical, but since all this has started happening my public opinion is that "Star Wars is great and did you see that it was a fuckin lightsaber that shit is sick". I hadn't seen Rebels yet and all the hype around Ahsoka and the fact that Hayden is back for it has me now in the middle of season 2 and I'm loving it. The world of Star Wars is just such a fun place to be, it shouldn't matter that Rebels is a little bit for 8 year olds and I'm nearly 35, I'm loving the vibes. Plus seeing Freddie Prinze Jr's voice coming from a guy that looks like he plays bass in a nu-metal band. So much fun. I'm really excited to get into Ahsoka once I'm done (or sooner if I can't resist it anymore) and discuss with my normal friends all the things that are cool about it and all the stuff we would do differently.

I, like you, have my issues with the way Disney had handled Star Wars lately. Lots of missteps, horrible plotlines, and movies that were just insulting to the fans (last three trilogies). However, my criticisms don't come to the point of religious zealotry and narcissism.
I also like the Ashoka Tano series. Mainly because the show, like you said, is more "Star Wars" than most series that preceded it. But also, this one gives us NONDOGMATIC force users who are neither Jedi nor Sith specifically. In my opinion, such an approach presents a more exciting and "human" element to those characters because they have goals or means to ends. Not just an altruistic sense of justice like the Jedi or blind lust for power like the Sith. I do believe we got our first glimpse of this with Count Dooku in the prequels. He too, although working directly with the Sith, did not fully become one. I believe it was due to his disillusionment with the Jedi order and seeking to right their wrongs. Also, his eyes never turned Sith yellow so I would assume that meant he had a "means to an end" and not just filled with a lust for power like I stated earlier.
I also wish the fanbase would just calm down and, while having their opinions and critiques, look at the shows and movies as interpretive artwork and not strict story lines than cannot be deviated from.

Book of Boba I wasn't a fan of the punk kids purely due to the setting they were in. Put them on Nar Shadda and I'd have no complaints, and Mando jacking the whole damn show at the end was my complaints. They're not the greatest thing out there and that's fine. I haven't seen all of Star Wars Rebels and what I have seen of it (aside from the stuff with Vader and Maul), I didn't care for. Hence why I haven't watched Ahsoka and don't plan to anytime soon because I'm not interested in live-action Star Wars Rebels season 5. I've seen the Anakin stuff, which was pretty good.
I loved the Kenobi show. Yes it had flaws, but overall, I think they got more right than wrong. I've never been a huge fan of The Mandalorian. The first two seasons were good, but I think they're overrated and I agree that Book of Boba Fett and Mandalorian season 3 weren't that great. Haven't watched Andor because I have no interest in it. I liked The Bad Batch though.
Even in regards to the films, my opinions of them aren't exactly popular ones. I like the prequels (mainly Revenge of the Sith, which is hands down my favorite Star Wars film. I agree with some of the criticisms of The Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones, the latter being my least favorite of the original six, but they still had plenty of things about them that I enjoyed.), I like the original trilogy but I don't think they're the Holy Grail of cinema like many say. I didn't love or hate the sequel trilogy. I thought Rogue One was boring outside of Vader and Tarkin's scenes. And I really liked the Solo movie, it's definitely the best Star Wars movie made since Disney bought the franchise IMO.
Honestly, I get sick of hearing fans bitch about every new piece of Star Wars content even if they have a good reason to, and you can't avoid it because it's everywhere, even if it has nothing to do with Star Wars. Maybe it's a vocal minority, or maybe it's a vocal majority. Either way, it's incredibly frustrating.
I'm to the point where I just keep my love of Star Wars to myself because no matter what opinions you have, someone will attack you for it.

Since 2015 Star Wars has used Nostalgia from original Trilogy, while providing nothing new. The Force Awakens retcons The Original Trilogy, Fall of Skywalker was horrible, Rogue one was nostalgia fuel bait, The Mandlorian's biggest selling point was Yoda as a baby, Kenobi was a pointless show that relyed on nostalgia while having Vader and Obi-wan in a slap boxing match, Book of Boba did nothing to expand the story, Andor is a useless character who's gonna die. His story is already set. now Ahoska has taken the Heir to the Empire and replaced Luke with Ahoska. To even watch Ahoska you gotta do a ton of homework. Rebels is boring. I gotta watch a boring ass show to get into a new show? We're still in the era of the Empire, we're still talking about Vader, Luke isn't the master jedi fans wanted to see we're still gonna get to the Force Awakens. When do we get something new? Where do we get a new adventure? New enemies? New Star Wars? We're stuck in between Ep 3-4, Ep6-7. I never thought I'd see the day that Star Wars is boring. It doesn't matter who is in charge, what matter is who can write a new story that honors the original. Nostalgia has been run into the ground. Where is the fun? Where is the excitement? Where's the sense of adventure? The feeling of exploring something new?

For example my favorite SW movie is Rogue One a Disney era project. Fans hold on the the EU as if it was this untouchable golden age. But the truth is that it was just as messy with ups and downs! I feel like many fans see an idealized version of SW that never existed. SW is ever evolving and people just can't seem to accept change. There have been lots of great projects in the past few years. To your point i very much agree David needs to be given the reigns and they need less cooks in the kitchen. The biggest issue is they had to many creatives involved trying to guide it not one steady hand. People need to think a little more ciritcally and let these projects cook 2 eps in and already "STAR WARS IS RUINED ILL NEVER TRUST DISNEY AGAIN!!" , like calm down how about judge a project in full and if you still don't like it thats fine. But don't speak for all fans many of us still have a love for SW. I just want more stories in the universe I love without being harassed for liking the stories we're getting. I hope one day the fandom will find a balance and we can all just keep enjoyong this world we are all so passionate about.

SW fans can be the worst fans out there bar none, they will insult, berate, belittle and do worse for not agreeing with them, for not living in their head canon. Lucas never set a standard canon, he set tiers that he changed his mind over them over 20 years just like he did when it came to how many films would be in the now called Skywalker Saga. Not only did he change his mind when it came to the amount of films but also to what the prequel and sequel trilogies were going to be, the man is a walking contradiction that pissed off the fans so much that WE were the ones that wanted him to step away from SW and let someone else take the reins. He sells to Disney and now "fans" hate everything Disney does with SW and want Lucas back or someone else to take over. A new trilogy comes out and they flock to the theatre then complain why was Han killed (Ford hated his role) but say nothing that it was a rehash of the original and that it was obvious it was going nowhere good. When it comes to the shows they act as if they are forced to watch them and pretend to be offended of what they are watching. I feel like there are numerous contradictory comments in this video. Kinda a "I'm not gonna practice what I preach" deal. Example - "Don't critique Ahsoka if you haven't watched Rebels". Ok, I completely disagree, but I get it. I don't believe you can understand elements of Ahsoka without watching Rebels.
But flip that, those of us who have read Heir to the Empire, Dark Force Rising and The Last Command can't say Dave Filoni got Thrawn wrong because Filoni had a chat with Zahn at a Con? This video creator admits he hasn't read the books but feels it necessary to offer critique towards those that have read them, studied them, loved them.
I'm sorry but if peoples opinions about Ahsoka are invalid because they didn't watch Rebels then your opinion on Thrawn is invalid because you didn't read the books. That door swings both ways. Fair is fair.
For some reason there is a significant part of the modern fan base that can accept zero criticism of Dave Filoni. For everything he does well, his creativity, my belief that he actually cares about Star Wars - he is not a strong writer, he is not good at dialog - he needs to work more within a team with others helping him where he is lacking. Ahsoka hilights this as its Filoni's most ambitious foray into writing Star Wars thus far.
But some will say, " wait, didn't he write The Clone Wars". No, by and large he didn't. Writers were hired to put the ideas to paper and the series was better off for it.
Interestingly these is also a critique that would apply to George Lucas, so the apple might not fall too far from the tree :p But even with that said I do think Lucas is a better writer than Filoni.
Personally, I'd rather gives the keys over to Favreau, with Filoni advising.
And Andor is brilliant for all the reasons mentioned in the video. It is far more Star Wars than you give it credit for being. Star Wars pre 1999 was never really about non stop lightsaber duels znd action scenes driving story telling, it was more nuanced, delved into more different aspects of the universe.
Han Solo at Stars End is a brilliant example, not a Jedi in sight, but an brilliant story none the less. The Ewok films, both guilty pleasures of mine, despite their faults are another couple great examples of how varied Star Wars stories can and should be. Droids cartoon, same idea.
Stories can stand on their own. You don't need big name cameos every thirty minutes to try and pull on nostalgia strings. Filoni is over the top with that. Mandalorian Season 1 worked brilliantly because it directly avoided that tendency. Same with Andor. The Mandalorian Season 2 started to slide due to precisely that, which I credit to Filoni. We suddenly had to have a new, pre existing name appearance in almost every single episode. Bo Katan, Ahsoka, The Marshal, Boba Fett, Luke Skywalker, R2 D2. It was very Dave Filoni.
Yes, I like fun too. But the story has to come before the character drops. Disney+ Star Wars loses sight of that a lot.
Anyway, I'm trying to be fair here. I find the over the top critiques of the Nerdrotics and RK Outpost squads preposterous as well. There is a ton of hate for the sake of hating. But there are also a ton of legit reasons for fans to be critical of the direction this franchise has gone.

    • @Analyze_This54
      @Analyze_This54  9 месяцев назад

You make a lot of good points. I think they wrote this show to build off of Rebels more than the Thrawn books. Part of that is due to Disney’s stupid decision to mess with what is Canon and what is Legends. So, we won’t get a story based entirely off of that.
You have to at least know the summary of Rebels to have an understanding on why characters are acting the way they are and why the situation is what it is. Not trying to gate keep. It’s the honest truth.
My issues with Thrawn is from what I said in the video. I’ve literally heard people complain that he is too fat or acts like a Moron. So, his non-fat body in the books is better? I just think people go to far sometimes with the complaints.
We have to accept the fact that they aren’t going to make what we want to see. It sucks, but it doesn’t mean the content the make is all bad.
Again, I appreciated reading your thoughts.

@@Analyze_This54 I don't particularly have anything against Lars - good actor - but I find him miscast in the role. My envisioning of Thrawn is not of a sixty year old man with Lars physique. Voice is great, everything else doesn't fit.
One thing Zahn always gave Thrawn is that the character had layered plans, layered strategies. Even in set backs he was three steps ahead of the heroes. Zahn crafted scenes so that it appeared the heroes were gonna win, made the audience think the heroes won, only to have Thrawn pull out the carpet from beneath their feet.
As you mention in your latest video, the conclusion was all kinda predictable. It bugged me that Thrawn had no tactical answer to three characters making a direct assault on the front door of his fortress beyond "we will throw a few troopers at them". Its a very Clone Wars like style of writing. To me Thrawn should have had answers, Ahsoka and crew should have had a more complex plan than bashing down the front door. And they wasted so much time travelling with the extremely slow moving turtle folk on a time sensitive mission. Nothing about it worked for me.
I did enjoy elements. Baylan is an interesting character. The scene with Ahsoka & Huyang lightsaber training Sabine was the single best presentation of Jedi training I think I've ever seen in any format. Its Luke with the remote made modern and more interesting. But to me, overall, the series set up some interesting paths it could have gone, but lacked execution in pretty severe ways.
I'm glad you enjoyed it. I just want them to do better - Andor level writing and dialog with some Ahsoka styled action, larger scale battle scenes, would likely be a great point of convergence that would make a lot of fans very happy.

Some people suck ALL of the time, ALL people suck SOME of the time. This saying fits here the same as it does in ANY situation. There are things that can be loved about this entire franchise, and there are things that aren't so great. But that is different for each person that looks at it. That's the point of art. It speaks differently to different people. Just like life has different perspectives for different people. This content creator is exactly right in that people don't have to be ugly to each other. Ever. It just doesn't have to happen.
Personally, I love how with every new episode of any content related to the Star Wars universe, whether it is live action or animated, we see a little more detail of this vast universe. Taken as a whole, even the bad ones add depth to what we know about this galaxy far far away. And even the stupid stuff is way cooler than the one planet we all exist on, with the same species and the same conflicts and wars that we keep repeating generation after generation.

I was disappointed by the new trilogy and the direction Disney set, I have seen a lot of clone wars and quite liked that, I also watched some Rebels and that was not really for me, though I did see one of my all time favourite star wars moments with Maul vs Obi One that was top level for me and a real surprise/treat I am glad I did not miss out due to spite, watching Ashoka is like watching a love letter to those two shows fans and that shines out for me, I think that's why even though it's not my generation I really quite like it and I think the people who did grow up on those shows really deserve this, I think Dave loves the content and fans and I like the bar that sets, that's his his biggest plus for me, much love to all 💙💜❤

As a star wars fan Ahsoka was mediocre. The acting was terible, the pace was all over the place, the logic wasn't there, and it was full of cameos that added little to no substance at all. And i watch Clone wars and Rebels, alongside most of the Disney shows

There are many problems I have with the show, chief among them being Rosario not having a stunt double, she is sooooooo
sluggish compared to the other actor(s) just get her a stunt double and there is one of the things that rips me out of an episode gone.
again other problems but this is the one I've decided to bring up.

Nitpicking is an issue. But you cant ignore the glaring abundance of plotholes, 0 emotion from ahsoka + sabine, thrawn being an idiot, soooo many coincidences. And of course, anakins lesson was redundant and confusing. Filoni is a meh writer. I used to think he was a god, but this show really opened my eyes.

This guy is all about opinion. Ill go with facts about the woke agenda. Go ahead and respond to this? Ahsoka is a feminist propaganda piece. Here is some quotes from Dave Filoni.
“I think of myself as very, I like to think liberal minded, but was I as much in practice as I was in theory for what I thought I was. We have to be diligent to break these types of age old biases.”
“I want dimensional, diverse characters. I want characters that are women of every race, every age, every description, what have you, doing interesting things and being dynamic. That’s what we are dedicated to at Lucasfilm,”
Filoni then outlined Lucasfilm’s vision for Star Wars, “This is what we tried to do with the Star Wars Saga. We tried to create more female characters that can represent so many things. Because what we are trying to do isn’t just create one type of character, we are trying to create a diverse range of characters especially female characters that are strong, that are independent.”

    • @Analyze_This54
      @Analyze_This54  9 месяцев назад +2

There have been important female characters since day 1 - Princess Leia and Padme. Ahsoka has existed since 2008 and have been in numerous shows under Dave and even George before he sold the company. The Ahsoka show literally is the continuation of the Rebels show and it is tied directly into the "Mandoverse".
So what's the problem? Is it because there's a bunch of female characters in the show? The cast has to be male led? Your focus on these quotes distracts you from the whole point of the show.
If Ahsoka was being handled like Rey then I'd be with ya. But I disagree when it comes to Ahsoka. Rey was the one characters that was pushed to unrealistic limits.

    • @thetruthispotenza3602
      @thetruthispotenza3602 9 месяцев назад +1

@Analyze_This54 so you're just gonna ignore all the quotes from Dave Filoni that I posted? He literally admits to having an agenda. It's not about being creative. It's not about having a good show. It's about a LGBTQ, feminist, woke agenda. The problem is the woke agenda. Feminism. How are you clueless of my point?
Everything you said is just to dodge my whole point. Disney has literally had whistle blowers who have exposed Disney's agenda to promote LGBTQ, Feminist woke propaganda in children's shows. Star Wars is no different. Their main goal is to implement the woke agenda and narrative into popular shows that normal people enjoy. And that has been a stable of entertainment for many decades. You don't see a problem with that? If you don't have a problem with this agenda. Then, you are considered a shill. And I have no problem with females at all. I have a problem with feminist, LGBTQ woke corporations with an agenda to brainwash kids and force their bs down everyone's throats. Using already established shows, etc, like Star Wars, for example.
If Dave Filoni and all the writers for Star Wars are so great. Why is every show flopping? Why have they lost billions upon billions of dollars? Why was George Lucas successful, but Disney is a failure? You can have an opinion. But it's a fact that the majority of people are against it. I loved Star Wars growing up. And a bunch of other Disney movies. Can you at least admit that these people who are running Lucas Films have an agenda? Can you admit that this is nothing like Star Wars that was created by George Lucas? I mean, it's a fact they ditched everything he created.

A big issue with the Star Wars fandom is most of them (Including EU fans, Cannon fans, and even including some Prequel Trilogy fans and Sequel Trilogy fans) get very upset and butthurt that Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back is not everyone's favorite Star Wars movie or isn't ranked #1.
Here's MY ranking of The Star Wars movie (Mainline Movies To Make It More Straightforward) Best To Worst:
    Great Ones:
    1. Star Wars Episode VI: Return of The Jedi (1984).
    2. Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope (1978).
    3. Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back (1981).
    Bad Ones:
    4. Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of The Sith (2005).
    5. Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace (1999).
    6. Star Wars Episode II: Attack of The Clones (2002).
    7. Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens (2015).
    8. Star Wars Episode IX: Rise of Skywalker (2019).
    9. Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi (2017).
Why I consider to be bad isn't too unpopular, especially with my ranking of the Sequel Trilogy. Yes, I do rank the Original Trilogy as the only ones that I love. However, the way I ranked the Original Trilogy is very unpopular. Yes, A New Hope is ranked #2 like the majority of Star Wars fans. However, unlike the vocal minority of Star Wars fans, most people have Empire Strikes Back as #1 and consider Return of The Jedi to be weakest of the original trilogy. I don't align with that. Return of The Jedi is not only my favorite of the original trilogy but my favorite Star wars movie period and one of my favorite movies of all time. Yes, I love the Ewoks, I love that Luke and Leia are siblings, I love the second Death Star (No it’s not a repeat of A New Hope if you actually pay attention to the movie), and yes I like the Jabba’s Palace arc (No it’s not convoluted if you pay attention to the movie). I love Empire Strikes Back, don't get me wrong, but I do think it's a tad overrated, and it's actually my least favorite of the original. This is something that most Star Wars do not want to hear especially those who think Empire Stikes Back is their favorite and consider Return of The Jedi the weakest of the original trilogy. Not everyone is going to have Empire Strikes Back as their favorite Star Wars movie and not everyone is going to think Return of The Jedi is the weakest. There are going to be people who think A New Hope and Return of The Jedi are better than Empire Strikes Back and they’re going to exist. Some people will have A New Hope as #1, Some people will have Return of The Jedi as #1 and Empire Strikes Back is not going to be #1on every single Star Wars list or ranking. It’s fine if they don’t agree with that but they need to get over it and go outside and touch grass. If Empire Strikes Back is your favorite Star Wars movie, that’s awesome. If you think Return of The Jedi is the weakest of the original trilogy, cool and nothing wrong with that. If you think Empire Strikes Back is better than A New Hope and Return of The Jedi, more power to ya. But you just can’t force that force that on people. I think that’s the biggest problem I’ve noticed with the Star Wars fandom. They just get so butthurt that Empire Strikes Back isn’t #1 on other people’s ranking.

As an original fan from the 70's Star Wars ended with Empire. I hated everything since until Mandalorian began, then it went to shit, Ahsoka is the only one I mildly have enjoyed. Thrawn is a very big deal to me, Zahn's books were all I had when the original trilogy ended so I hold that universe dear. Thrawn's physical appearance is not what I would have done but his manners and attitude are perfect.

I've never been too bothered about physical appearances as long as the performance is good. A perfect example is Mark Addy as Robert Baratheon in GoT. Looks nothing like how Robert is described but his performance was spot-on
