I would love to see a male character just stand up to the female character in general. Equality means taking accountability for your own actions, but it seems writers are afraid to do that with their female characters. If I'm going to follow this character's journey, and especially if I'm going to have to play as them if it's a game, then there should be a reason I want them to succeed. You *can* have a purposefully unlikable protag who gets better but most of the time you should probably just avoid that cause it's very hard to do well. (And even the good ones tend to get mixed reception. See Luke from Tales of the Abyss.) And with Korra I doubt her being unlikable was even the initial intent. They likely just realised they made an oopsie and tried their best to course correct.

Here my opinion of each character on the list; Amber (Invincible): I don't have much to say that hasn't already been said. Amber started out well until she complained about Mark not going to dates because he was a superhero. But just throw all that to shit with the reveal that she knew all along that Mark was Invincible. Fortunately she broke up with Mark in the second season when she was almost killed by a Viltrumite in front of Mark. Korra (Legend of Korra): I'll be honest, Korra has always been one of my favorite characters in Avatar. But, yeah...I can even admit that there were moments where I said, "damn it Korra...". Now her behavior is half reasonable in the first season, well, it was the first time she went to other places, since she spent most of her time training three elements. But yes, the second season did the character no favors. It was a relief that she became humble in the third season. She went from being an arrogant brat to a warrior, who, despite all the traumas she went through, still stands tall, moving forward. Side note, Korra has a video game a thousand times better than Aang had so far. And the legend of Korra game is almost 10 Years old since it's release Date is aparently October 21, 2014. Sakura Haruno (Naruto): Oh my god, Sakura. Now let's go with one of the main dishes in more ways than one. I don't hate Sakura though... yeah, the first part of Naruto's story, yeah, she was useless. I'm not even going to sugarcoat it. But at least she had an improvement in Shippuden. The studio Pierrot adapted the manga to the anime, adding scenes and removed details, such as Sasuke blushing when close to Sakura. And in the manga when they were looking for Sasuske, Sakura intended to protect both Naruto and Sasuke in Shippuden. Despite some improvements in some combats scenes and trying to add scenes for characters like kaguya, the studio made Sakura unlikable in the anime. Karai (TMNT 2012): I already expressed my opinion towards her, so, short version; She wasn't a bad character, but she was made dirty, even worse than Karai in TMNT 2003 with the fourth Season. April O'neil (TMNT 2012): I'm a bit neutral with this version of April, she's probably not gonna be the worse version of the character. ('Cause I'm sure there's gonna be an April more annoying than 2012), but, yeah, she has similar issues with Karai. It was because of this love triangle between April, Casey and Donnie, one of the reasons why I despise love triangles, specially those that were made horrificly. GT Pan: Absolute Waste of potential and the only thing I like from her is Feint Shot in Xenoverse games. Thank God we have better versions of Pan, both Fanmade and Official versions like Super.
What makes GT pan worse is super pan in the movie faking being captured, part of me feels that was an inside joke while writing, heck her only issue was being shot at which was more funny and the main villain attack

In the first game she's kinda the typical "save the princess character" but in that game as well as in her next appearance she plays a very emotional role for our main lead. She even has enough of being on the sidelines and starts fighting, even follows in the lead's footsteps and begins learning to defend herself. The issue is that she literally doesn't get that many chances to prove herself, is written _abit_ stupid sometimes and still manages to be the damsel in destress even when she tries. They are starting to shift gear abit lately, in the DLC especially, so we'll just have to see where that goes.

Like, let's forget his own elder brother massacred his entire clan and family when Sasuke was like, 6 or 7? Then, still shows up multiple times through the series, to keep terrorizing little Sasuke and remind him that "he has to get stronger." Cause Itachi is a suicidal maniac, who wants his brother to kill him. On top of that, add the fact that the creepy snake guy who is literally a predator, put his eye on Sasuke cause he's so strong, and basically manipulated him by selling him a fantasy of power that would let him take revenge on his brother. So, Sasuke just wants justice for his clan at any cost, which he's justified in wanting. And people still call him a terrorist. Nope, he's not. He was even nice to Sakura, saving her life on multiple occasions and making it clear he does not want her. The one time he tried to kill her was in self defense, and the other during the war arc, I think wasn't real but an illusion. It's not his fault the girl is a creep, and can't take a hint. Everything Sasuke did was a result of trauma, manipulation and brain-washing. Everything Sakura did, was because she was a dumbass. Plain and simple.

There was a controversy surrounding Lois Lane discovering Superman's identity and she was compared (unfairly, imo) to Amber.
Saw it, although I don't agree with the fans saying she's the new amber AT ALL I still don't like how she got mad at clark for keeping his identity a secret. I wish Lois was more understanding but she's nowhere NEAR amber's level of bitchiness

In the first episode she does apologizes for tricking Clark and Jimmy and later on she does become a better friend to them. You know in TMNT 2012 I felt bad for Donnie even though he was simping for April over and over again in ONE EPISODE APIRL IS SUPER ADDEICTED TO A ALIEN CRYSTAIL AND KILLS DONNIE well actual scatters him but I don't care. I don't really like Sakura much as a character but I'll always have a issue of how much the anime screwed over her character compared to the manga. She wasn't even really a bitch in the manga compared to Sakura constantly beating the shit out of Naruto every episode. So many cool moments in the manga framed in the anime as Sakura not giving a shit. It's just really disappointing

While I do agree Korra was at her worst in season two, the major reason why she was like that was due to the fact that the creators did not know they were going to get a second season. When they got renewed for a second season, they decided to start again with a clean slate; this included Korra's character as a whole, which is why she was like that. While I do love Korra as a character the writing around her in the beginning was just horrendous at times, especially the whole love triangle and losing the past avatars. I still don't know why the creators went that route, yeah I get that they wanted her to make her journey as the avatar a lot more difficult, but removing the past lives was not the answer

Interesting bit with amber saw someone do a rewrite for her, kept the argument and her knowing but I think they did her side better with some changes, recommend looking it up. Same with sakura in making her very useful and strong heck for a long time in the story, Naruto and saskue had to catch up with her after tsunade started training her and I enjoyed her arc and moments

I got one Riku from DNAngel So there's a scene where Dark, Riku and Risa are falling from the sky and Dark immediately pulls the 2 girls close to him so that he can save them since not only were they falling from an extreme height, but they were literally about to land in a bunch of trees, once they land Riku starts, accusing Dark of grabbing her boob he immediately response to this by telling her that he was wrapping his arm around her in order to pull her close in order to save her and her sister from receiving damage when they fell and that if he did grab her boob, it was an accident, instead of being thankful, she responds to this by accusing him of confessing that he groped her. All this proves. Some changes aren’t for the best we try to improve upon things only to end up making it worse sometimes. I have no problems with strong female characters or female center shows only if it’s done right pretty good. But these Damsels in distress in this video embody everything toxic about female empowerment today. You want things to be equal you want to prove your strong,tough,don’t need anybody else except yourselves. But all your proving is instead guys being problem it’s girls now. And I’m not saying this from irl perspective I’m saying it based off tv shows and stuff. Because that’s the message I get most of the time throughout most shows today. While not every cartoon,anime or tv show is out to make a message some are it’s sad to see how many writers waste potential or don’t utilize characters fully.

Okay so one thing I gotta disagree with you on. Sakura wasn’t mature for lying to Naruto. This was manipulative and cruel. She had JUST found out that he liked her and this gave her the idea to lie to his face. If your crush did that to you, you’d be pretty pissed off wouldn’t you?
Your absolutely correct. The thing about Amber is that the writers do a bad job of actually conveying why she is upset and make her look bad. She is upset because Mark came into the relationship fully aware of what his superheroing would do, and made the decision to 1) actively lie to Amber about everything, and 2) continue the relationship knowing what kind of strain it would be under and expecting everything to just be okay when he did finally tell her. Amber is completely justified in her reaction, she just does a TERRIBLE job explaining it. Or more accurately, the writers do a terrible job explaining it.Amber appears to be upset because Mark ran off and left during the college incident. She is actually upset because she *KNOWS* what he did and he continues to lie to her face about it. She calls him a coward, effectively calling his bluff and forcing him to come clean, where she has a chance to lay into him about her real reasons for being upset, and the writers fell apart and failed. Outside of this failure on the writer's part to adequately convey exactly what Amber intends here, Amber is 100% right and justified in her response and behavior, because she is rightly upset about being lied to and dragged along in a relationship full of risk that she might have not gotten into if she was made aware of the situation before. This is actually a really good plot point that was unfortunately butchered by the writers as a subversion of the traditional story, where the hero comes clean and it's all forgiven because he is a hero, where here he comes clean expecting to be forgiven and gets told that's not how it works and he fucked up in a major way.
Also the time and place where terrible. She was fine until he saved her life and didn't expose himself publicly. And then when he tried to tell her in private, she silenced him everytime.
I know she DIDN’T want to but it’s the result of not listening to anyone that costed her past lives. ESPECIALLY when she was escalating a civil war which isn’t a small mistake, ITS A WAR SHE’S ESCALATING. She does get better after season 2 but we got to see the worst of her in season 2

Saw it, although I don't agree with the fans saying she's the new amber AT ALL I still don't like how she got mad at clark for keeping his identity a secret. I wish Lois was more understanding but she's nowhere NEAR amber's level of bitchiness

@@happyhapp6 Exactly, what I do like about this version of Lois is that she still has her typical flaws but she's not afraid to apologize for her flaws too. In the first episode she does apologizes for tricking Clark and Jimmy and later on she does become a better friend to them. I do agree Jimmy did it better though, he was more understanding and calm about it.
You know in TMNT 2012 I felt bad for Donnie even though he was simping for April over and over again in ONE EPISODE APIRL IS SUPER ADDEICTED TO A ALIEN CRYSTAIL AND KILLS DONNIE well actual scatters him but I don't care. Bruh after this episode like it never happen Donnie still goes after April it would been better if Donnie had a bit of character development and no longer likeing April and they did the April and Cassy jones ship or heck April playing with them throughout the whole show, so she really deserves none of them even Cassy was shocked in that episode.
I don't really like Sakura much as a character but I'll always have a issue of how much the anime screwed over her character compared to the manga. She wasn't even really a bitch in the manga compared to Sakura constantly beating the shit out of Naruto every episode. So many cool moments in the manga framed in the anime as Sakura not giving a shit. It's just really disappointing

While I do agree Korra was at her worst in season two, the major reason why she was like that was due to the fact that the creators did not know they were going to get a second season. When they got renewed for a second season, they decided to start again with a clean slate; this included Korra's character as a whole, which is why she was like that.
While I do love Korra as a character the writing around her in the beginning was just horrendous at times, especially the whole love triangle and losing the past avatars. I still don't know why the creators went that route, yeah I get that they wanted her to make her journey as the avatar a lot more difficult, but removing the past lives was not the answer
I have so many friends that who hate Sakura so much oh yeah let's not forget right at the front of the beginning that Naruto and Sakura for kids she decided to talk horrible things to him I made him cry too now that's just beyond evil
Interesting bit with amber saw someone do a rewrite for her, kept the argument and her knowing but I think they did her side better with some changes, recommend looking it up.
Same with sakura in making her very useful and strong heck for a long time in the story, Naruto and saskue had to catch up with her after tsunade started training her and I enjoyed her arc and moments

So there's a scene where Dark, Riku and Risa are falling from the sky and Dark immediately pulls the 2 girls close to him so that he can save them since not only were they falling from an extreme height, but they were literally about to land in a bunch of trees, once they land Riku starts, accusing Dark of grabbing her boob he immediately response to this by telling her that he was wrapping his arm around her in order to pull her close in order to save her and her sister from receiving damage when they fell and that if he did grab her boob, it was an accident, instead of being thankful, she responds to this by accusing him of confessing that he groped her.
Edit: Honestly, I feel like sakura is the type of person where as an adult she would have been embarrassed with the fact that she liked a guy like sasuke, In real life I can't see two people like that ever getting married

All this proves. Some changes aren’t for the best we try to improve upon things only to end up making it worse sometimes. I have no problems with strong female characters or female center shows only if it’s done right pretty good. But these Damsels in distress in this video embody everything toxic about female empowerment today. You want things to be equal you want to prove your strong,tough,don’t need anybody else except yourselves. But all your proving is instead guys being problem it’s girls now. And I’m not saying this from irl perspective I’m saying it based off tv shows and stuff. Because that’s the message I get most of the time throughout most shows today. While not every cartoon,anime or tv show is out to make a message some are it’s sad to see how many writers waste potential or don’t utilize characters fully.

Your close, the creator of Naruto tried to write Sakura “realistically” and was actually confused why people didn’t like her, even little girls. He though maybe it was because Sakura wasn’t pretty enough so he tried drawing her more “beautiful” but in reality he didn’t understand that people didn’t like her because of her CHARACTER, not because she wasn’t “pretty enough.” There’s a few articles online that explains it

Your absolutely correct. The thing about Amber is that the writers do a bad job of actually conveying why she is upset and make her look bad. She is upset because Mark came into the relationship fully aware of what his superheroing would do, and made the decision to 1) actively lie to Amber about everything, and 2) continue the relationship knowing what kind of strain it would be under and expecting everything to just be okay when he did finally tell her. Amber is completely justified in her reaction, she just does a TERRIBLE job explaining it. Or more accurately, the writers do a terrible job explaining it.Amber appears to be upset because Mark ran off and left during the college incident. She is actually upset because she *KNOWS* what he did and he continues to lie to her face about it. She calls him a coward, effectively calling his bluff and forcing him to come clean, where she has a chance to lay into him about her real reasons for being upset, and the writers fell apart and failed. Outside of this failure on the writer's part to adequately convey exactly what Amber intends here, Amber is 100% right and justified in her response and behavior, because she is rightly upset about being lied to and dragged along in a relationship full of risk that she might have not gotten into if she was made aware of the situation before. This is actually a really good plot point that was unfortunately butchered by the writers as a subversion of the traditional story, where the hero comes clean and it's all forgiven because he is a hero, where here he comes clean expecting to be forgiven and gets told that's not how it works and he fucked up in a major way.
Also the time and place where terrible. She was fine until he saved her life and didn't expose himself publicly. And then when he tried to tell her in private, she silenced him everytime.
Korra can be annoying but y'all do too much, as if she wanted to lose all her past lives
I know she DIDN’T want to but it’s the result of not listening to anyone that costed her past lives. ESPECIALLY when she was escalating a civil war which isn’t a small mistake, ITS A WAR SHE’S ESCALATING.
She does get better after season 2 but we got to see the worst of her in season 2
