I got an bit of an example that only gets on my nerves a little bit, but I still don't like in comparison to the other characters: Tweety Bird. I know he's cute and can come up a good one liner here and there, but in comparison to the other Looney Tunes characters, he doesn't really hold his all that much. I mean, there have been the occasional short where he fights back against Sylvester, but most of the time, he just sits back, makes a comment, and waits for Granny and/or the occasional bulldog to stop him. You may argue that Roadrunner's the same way, when he knows Wile E Coyote is after him, he does everything he can to get away (even if it's very easy for him). This can make it pretty easy to route for Sylvester, because he's at least more interesting. I know a lot of people argue that the "villains" of Looney Tunes are more sympathetic, but because everyone here is just trying to survive each other, and at the very are able to do it on their own, I find myself routing for the protagonists and the antagonists. With Tweety and Sylvester, it feels Sylvester is the only one carrying the weight and comedy. Heck, Granny is more interesting than Tweety! If anything, we should see HER as the hero! As a person who of course loves the shorts that the guys at Termite Terrace better than the new Looney Tunes projects, but still respects and enjoys a lot of the projects that WB made and will continue to make to follow in their footsteps and keep the Looney Legacy alive (except Baby Looney Tunes, we don't speak of that), one of the things I think those projects actually do better is that they actually do make Tweety a lot more capable and interesting than back in the day. I know I'm going to get a lot of angry comments for saying that the new stuff did something better than the old stuff, but I like to acknowledge when something later in an ongoing franchise improved on something.
