The way you talked about Mario and Link. . . Link is just a Hylian peasant with a sword and shield Mario is just a plumber . . . and the fact that the two of them "fought for others who can't fight for themselves", and that they rescued others who couldn't get themselves out of peril. . . This, to me, sounds A LOT like Batman and Spider-Man.
With the Legend of Zelda series, most games take place hundreds of years apart. Each Link, Zelda, and Ganondorf is a different incarnation, so each Zelda only gets rescued once. As for Link’s species, it’s called “Hylian”.
And many incarnations of Zelda have proven themselves to be stronger characters: - The original: Just before she's captured by Ganon, she manages to split the Triforce of Wisdom into pieces and scattering them across Hyrule, allowing Link to find them before Ganon could (this is in the very first game as well!). - Ocarina of Time: She works together with Link (either as herself or as a Sheikah ninja), helping him progress in his quest. - The Wind Waker: She starts off as a fierce pirate captain. True, she doesn't contribute much as a princess, at least until the final battle, where she helps to incapacitate Ganondorf so Link can kill him. - Twilight Princess: Like in Wind Waker, she helps incapacitate Ganondorf so Link can hit him. She also surrenders to Zant in order to spare her people (the mark of a true leader, right there!). She later sacrifices herself to save Midna so the latter and Link could continue in their quest to stop Zant. That's a few examples, but it does prove that several incarnations of Zelda are clearly much stronger characters than Peach. Hell, they also acknowledge Link's prowess as a hero better (at the end of OoT, she returns Link to his original timeline so he could return to his normal life); a much better reward than...a measly cake (like, thanks a bloody bunch, Peach. It's not like I risked life and limb and faced multiple dangers while being constantly told that you were in another castle...OH, WAIT).
Yeah, I mean I never thought or assumed that Zelda was weak in any sense, It just made more sense in my mine that after all the adventures, trials, quests, enduring death, going through time and stuff that he should've been deemed worthy to lead hyrule as their new King.
STILL, Zelda is not a pushover or someone to be taken likely, She can hold her own and show leadership. Tho that began the question.....If she also has these qualities that Hyrule Wants as their leader WHY NOT MAKE HER QUEEN ALREADY INSTEAD OF ALWAYS KEEPING HER A PRINCESS?! (I'm asking Zelda's world's own logic here not anyone else's lol) just a random thought that came in my head.
The Ryo Sakurai if I had to guess, maybe princesses held captive are deemed unworthy to be Queen, but with not other leader, they need to take up the responsibility of one? I don’t know how monarchy works.
20:20 To be fair, in the Legend of Zelda games, Link is multi-incarnate and Zelda is a name passed down through the royal family, they're actually different people from game to game with only direct sequels being the exceptions.

To sum up this video:
1: All Hail King Mario!
2: All Hail King Link!
3: Fuck Jar-Jar!
4: Fuck Peach!

Thane Dynamo Spirit Tracks is one of my favorites just because Zelda is your travel companion. You’re on a quest with Zelda to rescue...Zelda!

Gadget is as smart as a penny, the coin not his niece.

You should react to Nostalgia Critic's top 11 tv themes.
Some heroes rather stay humble than abuse powers of leadership
React to Nostalgia Critic Son of the Mask : this movie is PURE SHIT !!!!!
Jar Jar is the ultimate sith.
28:14 Maybe she's from a state where 17 is legal?
I don't agree with him about Short Round or Jubilee.
Watch his temple of doom review
I'd also ADD *Sophie Turner/Sansa Stark* from G.o.T. to this list...... LOL
Jar Jar was supposed to be a sith lord. Lucas changed Ep:2 after the backlash.
