Mars Attacks was Based Upon a set of 1950s trading cards which contain many of the scenes and set pieces shown in the film. Excellent. The Green Slime was a hilariously silly 1950s film. This Island Earth had the Metalunans and the mutant drone both of which are classic 1950s designs. A really great film. The Blob was based upon a 1959 novella called The Clone by Theodore Thomas and the fully as a novel together with Kate Wilhelm which was to all intents and purposes was the Blob itself and tried to explain the chemistry of the eating process. Creepy book. Recommend.

I knew the Deadly Spawn creatures were going to be your number one! And rightly so - it’s a brilliant film and one of the first horrors I hired from a video shop (through an older cousin) back in the early 80s! 👍🏻
Great video. Brought back a lot of memories. The Green Slime was the first movie I saw in a theater. It was a lot of fun then and I still watch it every now and then.
Fantastic list Bryn. I'm glad you included Mars Attacks, a really cool design. I love Monster Zero. Without Warning is a blast. Like you i love Nightbeast. Don Dohler lived about 40 minutes away from me.

Amazing video Bryn. Awesome list mate. I love The Blob. One of my favourite horror films from the 80s. What a remake that is. The practical effects in that film are incredible. I enjoy Mars Attacks as well. That’s a fun film. The aliens look awesome as well. Definitely need to check out Xtro, and The Deadly Spawn. Heard great things about those.👍
@@horrorhands879 no worries Bryn. Yeah The Blob is fantastic mate. Really enjoy it. Definitely looking forward to watching The Deadly Spawn. Glad you enjoy it mate.👍

Fun topic and good list, as usual, Bryn, very glad you included The Green Slime in your list, always loved that movie. Some of my favorite rubber monsters are the aliens in I Married a Monster from Outer Space (really creepy looking), and all the monsters in the movie Inframan, the best of the worst ! I'm such a great and longtime fan of the original Blob movie that I never watched the 80s remake, but you make a good case of it, so I will definitely check it out soon.
Thank you! Had to include The Green Slime. I Married a Monster from Outer Space is a surprisingly creepy. I've never seen Inframan so need to check it out. I can understand avoiding a remake if you like the original so much, but the 80's version of The Blob is really good :)
Xtro is a really odd film, it's so bad it's good. When I was 14 the birthing scene sickened and disturbed me greatly, yeah it was too much for my child brain. Mars Attacks LOL!🤣 The Without Warning Alien looks great. The Blob creature is amazing. I used to own Night Beast, can't remember it? The Deadly Spawn creature is epic! Another Great video!😀👍
I was unnerved by that birthing scene too. Without Warning has a great looking creature. Definitely remind yourself of Nightbeast 👍 thanks for watching!

I watched Xtro for the first time recently and it was too bizarre even for me, I couldn't take to it at all. But I agree with you, the first half is better (that second half is just wierd), and the effects for the alien were pretty cool with (as you mentioned) an incredibly graphic birth sequence. A couple of choices for me would have to be Gort from "The day the earth stood still" and the creatures from "CHUD". Excellent choice on the Metaluna mutant by the way.
