    What is your favorite budget fishing reel?

      Shimano IX. $13 and it works like a charm. It’s a little heavy, but the rear drag keeps it balanced (and intuitive). Only complaint I’ve seen is the fact anti-reverse only engages once per turn. For beginners like me it actually makes sense though. Accidentally reel up to far? Roll it back till it stops in the perfect casting position. Under 20 inches per turn is a little rough for moving baits, but THIRTEEN DOLLARS!!!

      Piscifun Carbon X I have 2 in 1000 and 1 2000 size. I’ve had them for 4 seasons and they have been flawless. The biggest downside is lack of customer support/parts which thankfully I haven’t needed.

      I love my lews speed spin 59.99 at Wal-Mart. I like it much more than my abu Pro max. I think I paid 80, both of which are solid reels, tho.

      Pfleuger President for spinning reels for spool sizes 2000/200/20 and under. Shimano Nasci for spool sizes 2500/250/25 and up to 4500/450/45.

      The Daiwa Revros paired with the AirdX rod & Shimano Nexave paired with the Sellus rod are so hard to beat for budget. Each combo can be put together for around $100. It amazes me how much quality gear can be had these days for under $100. Ten years ago just about everything under that price point was junk.

    Man I love this channel, the Kastking sales are no joke and the customer service is second to none, I got a kastking crixus spinning combo on sale for about $50, caught a ton of fish on it. I also have the revros and it’s been a work horse for me and got me my PB, great video guys!

    Yes!! I was hoping you would pull out the Revros! I've used the same one for 4 years and caught everything from big Red Drum to micro Bluegill. Love it.

    I love my high end gear but I understand most people can’t or don’t want to spend that kind of money on a spinning reel and that’s totally fine. Do whatever makes you happy and if you’re catching fish that is the icing on the cake. Thanks for the great content as usual you guys are always on point. Have a great weekend everyone go catch some giants.

      I put a 500 on my light rod, telling myself I'd replace it someday. Have yet to ever think that thought again. I've been impressed with the little dude for about a year now.

    Personally don't have a Revros. But I do have 2 2500 Regals... the 65-75$ spinjing reel . A bit nicer than the Revros in my experience . But! No problems buying a Revros either. Too many great reviews on that reel. Well done again gentlemen

    i started off with budget spinning reels, but after a while, i decided to splurge on a vanford. it's night and day difference -- COMPLETELY worth it. i would rather have 1 vanford than 10 budget-level spinning reels. that being said, i know many people can't justify spending that much on a single reel.

      @@aaanglers - looking forward to reviews on the new ones-love the old version and the new models feel cheap.
      They also updated the President XT-$99 but BPS shops always marks them down to $59 each spring sale… I have the old red/black version but I was disappointed about the new one not having a back-reel option.
      Landed a 10lb LMB on my older version and the back-reel feature was employed heavily once the fish was close to the boat.
      Last note on the XT-I’ve had two where the drag stopped clicking a little over a year after purchase and I don’t get to fish often nowadays.

    Shimano doesn’t run sales but Bass Pro has a rod/reel trade in every spring-I buy my gear then and during Black Friday sales (various online stores) and save a ton each year!

    Love the content fellas. Best to do it. 100 bucks is the most ill spend on a spinning reel. Don't know what else you'd be looking for. Currently have a lineup of pflugers. Can't say anything bad about them.

    If you want lighter. The kastking Zephyr spinning is super light. Carbon fiber frames. On sale they are in the sub 50 dollar range. If you want fast the kastking Valiant Eagle. Also sub 50. Heavy duty and fast Royal legend Glory. I was Penn. Then Shimano and Abu. I tried one kastking and now have 26. I have been slowly replacing all my reels for kastking. I grab them on sales. I have been using them hard for 4 years. Zero issues. I will say I tried the Brutus spinning. Just to see how cheap they could go and be good. That was 29 bucks. I sold it. It felt cheap. The Centron is 25 bucks. It is actually smooth. I have 2. I wanted the blue color for 2 blue rods I have. It feels just about as good as the 50 Dollar real. I just went kayak fishing with my brother. He buys all high end Shimano. I let him try my Royal legend 2 casting reel. I have it on a Fenwick rod. I could not get him to give it back. He was trying to buy it from me one the water. I don’t love the Kastking rods I have tried. I love the kastking braid, ( the silky 8 ) is the best. The accessories and the reels. Take my money.

    You can get a shimano nasci often on Asian sites for 75 to 80$ on sale. I think it usually runs cheaper on those sites than any US site as well. Haven't found the Skeet Reece on any sites out side the US though. So it's the prices you find on Amazon, kastking or US tackle shops.

    • @blind_eye_fishing
      @blind_eye_fishing 5 дней назад +1

      Handing m1 is a nylon/graphite composite body. And I can't stand a flexy reel lol. But that's what you find in most the under 100$ spinning reels. There's maybe a handful that don't flex horribly imo. Even the daiwa flexes badly imo but I've gotten use to aluminum or magnesium frame spinning reels lol. The okuma ceymar hd surprised me with its frame though and imo is solid.

    • @blind_eye_fishing
      @blind_eye_fishing 5 дней назад +1

      Last comment I swear 😂. Kastking is trash under the 100$ mark lol there metal frame reels and 100$ spinning and 129$ casting starting points they start to get decent to good but...at those price points you can get bigger name brand reels that's more solid.

    • @blind_eye_fishing
      @blind_eye_fishing 5 дней назад +1

      Ok I lied one more comment 😂. Pick up a daiwa in that 99$ range and do a one on one with the nasci. Imo daiwa makes better spinning reels but shimano makes better casting reels lol. But I do like both and use both brands along with others.

  • @MarcusSpjut
    @MarcusSpjut 5 дней назад +1

    I see no reason to get anything else then shimano/daiwa. They are not overpriced in the budget segment, the trickle down I think is if not the most tech for the buck but they are both up there,so many use them so if they were trash we would know and if you looking for upgrade you might even get a few bucks for selling it vs one of the "lesser known" brands. :)
    Just got myself a Shimano miravel 2000 to pair with my expride 610ml, I have not been using it alot as I just got it but my first impression is solid!

    Would you guys be willing to do a “best of travel rods” type vid? I’d be curious about what y’all would think is nice, high value, etc. I know Paul did a vid about one of his vacations saying he only had a BFS rod he could bring to travel with. Didn’t know if y’all have tried to solve that problem or not and done some research on different rods.
    I’ve been hearing great things about the Zodias 5 piece (but can’t find it in stock anywhere) and I’m also interested in the new Daiwa Ardito premium rod 4 piece that came out at icast.
    Anyways, thanks for the awesome content and providing unbiased information so we can make informed decisions.

    • @aaanglers
      @aaanglers  День назад

      I spooled it all the way like I did every reel in this video. It’s fluorocarbon line, that is why you can see partially through it. If I spooled anymore, it would overspool on the first cast.
