  • The caregiver of Alex Murdaugh’s mother took the stand and recalled conversations she had with the disgraced lawyer around the time his family was murdered. Shelley Smith testified the disbarred South Carolina attorney told her he was at his mother’s house for 30-40 minutes the night his wife and son were killed. Smith claims Murdaugh was at his mother’s, where she was, for about 15-20 minutes.

Im starting to think this was a mercy killing. Paul was a liability and an embarrassment to the family legacy.
Alex knew Paul's 🚤boating trial was coming up, and he didn't want Paul nor his wife to go through what he'd put others through as a prosecutor, and Alex also knew his improprieties would be exposed. Thinking back, Alex planned 🤔 the murders all along, but he just didn't know when he'd go through with them. Remember when Alex said he and Paul rode the property for two hours spending time together looking at the sunflowers 🌻? Well, that was Alex's last goodbye to "PauPau". Alex had the guns stashed. Alex called his wife to come to the house and 🏠 Maggie called and told her sister about going there. The sister encouraged Maggie to go see Alex. I'm thinking Maggie and Alex weren't on the best of terms at the time because why would Maggie call to tell her sister that Alex asked her to come over. AND, Paul's Blackout got stolen from his truck; I bet Alex stole it.
Alex had noooo idea Paul was recording, and Alex thought he would get away with killing them, but Paul convicted his dad from the grave sight.

The subpoena will state exactly what kind of testimony is needed. If a witness does not cooperate to the satisfaction of the court, they can be held in contempt. The 5th amendment applies to self incrimination, and the witness is not the one accused of a crime here, so there would be no good reason to plead the fifth.
