  • Alex Murdaugh’s surviving son took the stand Tuesday and testified in his father’s family murders trial. Buster Murdaugh recalled the moment he learned that his brother, Paul, and mother, Maggie, were shot and killed at their South Carolina home in June 2021. The 26-year-old also detailed various inner workings of the disgraced lawyer’s family, including how they communicated and dealt with disputes, before explaining any knowledge of his father’s struggle with addiction and alleged financial crimes.

    A normal parent wouldn't be smiling at their child, testifying in court. They'd feel horrible that they're absorbed into this, even years after. Alex thinks this is what people would want to see, to see his "innocence" but he doesn't realize, it's extremely out of character for a parent to be happy about seeing their child doing something they shouldn't have to do.

    • @phillisob
      @phillisob Год назад +46

      That's all I could think. I tried with so many losses for years to be a parent, and my family is my whole world, but I don't smile 24/7. I would be crying or even sobbing, guilty or not, involved or not, to see my child in that position. Psychopaths are usually better at reading the room and/or situational societal expectations, but in my opinion, this one got it WAY off base and I don't think it will sit well with all the jurors feet from him.

      its good that buster testified. Because buster shot himself in the foot so many times and his hand gestures and facial expressions he makes every time he lied on the stand says it all. He lied about where they park the car at night because the grass is nice and green and there is no dead grass with no tyre marks or track marks which would have deformed the land the land wouldnt be straight it would have deep grooves in it.
      At start of testimony he said when they go at night they park at back and then go straight into the house through the back door because it is closest to his grandmas room. He never mentioned that he had to call anyone to get into the house from the back door. But when asked again later on, he said that you knock on the door and no one will hear you , so you have to call then walk to the front of the house to get in.
      He also said that he and alex never went back to mossel. But then when asked again later he said that he did go back but not to sleep there.
      Also buster had no idea that paul wasn't being sued for boat accident. Buster thought it was just himself his dad and maggie. Buster plays that they call each other every day all the time even with that example on the day of the murder with 10 phone calls back and forth. But he wasn't that close to his family to know that paul wasn't being sued ? How could he not know that. So to me it isn't normal that they communicate that much during the day everyday because all of those calls where either not answered , a 4 min phone call . So something was going on that day that there was so many calls occuring and being ignored most likely a fight on the phone about money regarding the boat accident case which was going to take place 3 days later. To me buster and alex got fired up enough on the 7the june to coax paul and maggie to the mossel location to get rid of them.

      @@letsbereal9455 I agree with you. He conducted himself extremely well. I’m just talking about the internal torment and dialogue that must be happening inside of him. He will need to face what his dad did and then either stand beside him, which could be deemed a betrayal of his mom and sister. Or he will turn his back on his father for what he has done and thereby lose his dad, as well, in the midst of so much loss and grief. I feel for him.

Also, him and his dad make a lot of the same movements while Buster is on the stand (I’ve already time stamped that in a previous comment) Buster knows something. And I don’t know why Alex looks so proud because, surely, investigators and cops will see how Buster acts during this and I hope will question him further. This is so odd.

Then at 32.16 buster says that when they are at the back door if you knocked no one can hear you knocking so you have to call then walk to the front of the house and enter the front of the house. But in his testimony a few minutes earlier, he said that at night time when they always parked at the back they go to te back door and then walk into the house from the back door without calling anyone. And his end reaction when he finishes this statement he again is unable to look straight at the jury only a quick glance because he knows he isnt honest
