  • The pathologist who performed autopsies on Alex Murdaugh’s slain wife and son testified Monday about her findings. Dr. Ellen Riemer testified that Paul Murdaugh’s death was caused by two shotgun blasts that were fired before he hit the ground. The disgraced lawyer can be seen tearing up throughout the testimony while listening to the gruesome details of his son’s injuries.

    It’s sobering to comprehend that in a 1,000-to-one chance the first shot to the chest was not fatal, and as Paul walked out and looked at his father there was one last opportunity for Alex to fully realize what he was doing, and to stop. But instead, Alex, with his son probably looking directly into his eyes, shot him again, blowing out Paul’s brains. Now that is unadulterated evil, pure and simple.

I am sure she is a lovely and talented medical examiner but to tout her court performance as exceptional is in my opinion unwarranted. I tend to think they were in separate sections of the kennel and if he was first, she came running in to see what happened and froze when she started to register the situation, I don’t think she was crawling anywhere, I think all of this happened very very quickly. Faster than we realize. Her stomach (kidney) wound would have been so painful that it’s unlikely she was able to concentrate on moving anywhere other than to ball up.
      These are the type of people who do all sorts of alterations to their weapons and the rifle that killed Maggie likely had a very sensitive trigger which was easy to engage quickly and repeatedly. Kind of like a spray but he probably did it slower than how people usually like to shoot them.

      @PresleysMom504 Год назад +8

      @@bumblebaa2327 I just pulled a crime scene layout, they were in VERY different areas of kennel, just like I thought. It looks like, from the layout, only Alex could see both of them from where he was standing, I’m trying to figure out from photos exactly what everything looked like-I think Maggie would be able to see Paul. I think there was a shotgun that was always in whatever area he killed Paul. I don’t think he prepared it in advance and if he did, it was probably done to further doubt that it was one person.
      Why did he pick birdshot? I can’t tell you for sure but my cousin was murdered recently and his killer used a shotgun with birdshot. It got the job done, especially at close range.
      He did shoot Paul in the head, though, destroyed his brain stem. His entire head was blown off except for the majority of his face. It’s obvious Paul was cleaning out the kennel or something like that based on the water pooled around him and the running hose.
      It’s hard to say who the intended target was, he may have had to make a quick decision about killing Paul because he was doing stuff in the feed room and he only expected Maggie there. I think he probably started lower on both of them because he was nervous, Paul especially. Maggie’s gunshots were definitely more intentionally placed. I genuinely think he was likely crying and apologizing and probably a bit hysterical.
      Based on the layout, after killing Paul, Maggie was likely coming through or towards the hanger, all he had to do was turn and advance to head towards her. I think he dropped the shotgun and likely had rifle hanging on his shoulder or set nearby. I think all of this happened really really fast. I think he gathered the guns and immediately went back to the house to clean up and compose himself. Got rid of the weapons, changed, and then went back to the scene, fooled with the phone or whatever and then called 911. His reactions were probably real, to a degree, but I think he mentally prepared himself to react as if someone else had done it, if that makes sense? Even as the gunman, the ordeal would still be traumatizing and I can see he does have some kind of PTSD from it. Who wouldn’t, really?
