“Mom was a mess. Missy was a dumb teenager I had to look out for both of them.”
I bet the last scene will be sheldon opening the door of his bbt flat, staring at it and then saying "this feels like home"

“Mom was a mess, Missy was a dumb teenager, I had to look out for both of them.” Mad respect for Georgie. He may not be the main character but he certainly is my favorite. ❤️

"Bye son."
Ouch, for those to be the last words your father says to you.
George's last words to the family were "See ya'll later." The way this is shot with the glow behind George makes George look otherworldly or heavenly. I think it is Sheldon remembering his Dad and saying his goodbyes to George Sr. years later. My guess is that after Amy and Sheldon get done talking, Sheldon is going to look at the picture of him and his dad that is on his desk and says good bye to him. Maybe I love you. And then George saying, "Bye son." I think it is the moment when Sheldon finally comes to terms with his dad and truly appreciates him. Whatever the case, the emotions are definitely going to be high next Thursday.
@@sunshinemerlot9790 i knew that when george said " see y'all later " , that would be the last time we saw him . the first season , episode 3 , george had a heart attack . the last season , 3rd from the last he had a heart attack and died . we all knew it was coming . what better episode to do it ....???? i watched it last night , quite a few times , and have been depressed all day . there are some things you just can't prepare yourself for .... hate to see it end .

@@mikebunch3189 Me too. I have watched it several times also. It is definitely a gut punch.
@@randaboy3601 I agree. There will be some sort of conversation where there is closure. The creators said that the series will end on an optimistic note. Let's hope so. Showing them grieving would be more powerful television and I could live with that but I want them to be happy at least for a moment even if they are fictitious.
“This wasn’t supposed to happen.” Man I’m in tears… that’s honestly the most depressing quote in all of Young Sheldon.
I wish they hadn't.
Amazing acting tho
That’s pretty ironic, because we the audience know it WAS supposed to happen.
Especially the “Bye, son” during the flashback, and when the present Sheldon said “Looking back, that was the Ultimate Gift.”
Chuck Lorre talking about how it was a nice way to land the plane.
Pretty sure he pulled a kamakazi right to the teeth in this episode. What, 4 seconds and I am sobbing all over again. I really hoped it'd be an off screen exposition sort of thing so nobody had to experience it but they gut punched everyone and now wrap up the entire series with it.
At least hopefully there will be a little bit of a time jump because the other episode promo where Sheldon has his laptop in church feels like wow, they got over that right quick. lol
Man. They built it up. Everyone was happy. New life in Houston. Missy was excited. Georgie was happy. And then KNOCK KNOCK KNOCk. 😭😭😭
Its life . Nothing lasts
Knock knock knocking on heaven’s door
Life is scary that way.
Just think.... They had to REHEARSE this scene and then PERFORM IT WITH STRAIGHT FACES!!😣😣😣
Life is scary and unpredictable that’s why I can relate to Sheldon sometimes as I too in the past disliked change but I grew to just tolerate it and accept it overtime, even though every now and then I kinda cringe at change
Sheldon sitting down in the chair alone while Memaw ,Mary and Missy embraces each other made me think of what Sheldon said to Howard when his Mom died."When my Dad died,i didn't have friends to help me through it.But you do"
Sheldon made me feel sad.
perfect
I hope we see that Sheldon get support from his family instead of making him all by himself like usual.
@teencritik5512 How is Sheldon all by himself? He was only living alone when he went to college, and he chose to do this. Mary would favour Sheldon and coddle him. That is why he became very selfish as an adult. When Sheldon says he had no one, I think he means he was unable that express his emotions especially when he returned college. At college, he had no one. At home, he would of had his family. George Jr. was even sending him money after their father passed away. George Sr. was even willing to move for him despite this meaning that he would have to get a new job. Mary would attend to most of his needs. Even in TBBT Mary seems to think that Sheldon is her only intelligent child. She refers to George Jr. and Missy as "dumb as soup." Even after George Jr. looked after her and Missy and provided for both of them and his wife and daughter at a very young age. She didn't really seem to acknowledge this or the fact that he set up his own business which became the biggest tire business in Texas. Although, overall, she is very different from in Young Sheldon.
@@magicmonkey1645 I mean, I hope he will not just be sitting alone without anyone to cuddle him. The writers always over exaggerated Sheldon selfishness to make him the most despicable.
@@teencritik5512 He was not all my himself, though. That is just how they wrote up his character to be. He stood out and was unique. His selfishness is exaggerated, but you cannot deny that he was very selfish. I say this despite him being my favourite character in TBBT. George Jr. even mentions that he went off to college after George Sr. passed away. (I do not mean that he did not care about or love his father). He didn't even want Missy to have her own room simply because he did not like change. Even though they had almost the complete opposite personalities of each other and are of opposite genders. He did not want to let Howard have his parking spot even though he did not drive or own a vehicle. It was given to Howard by the university, but he, still did not want to give it up despite it being no use to him. This is the reason that George Jr. and Sheldon had not talked in about a decade before Sheldon invites George Jr. to his wedding only because Mary forced him to do so. Hopefully, he will have someone to comfort, but I think Mary and Missy are too broken to do so. He still has George Jr. and Meemaw to comfort him.

@@jaredramirez9233 Thanks
"Mom did. Mom *always* took care of everything."
“Bye son.” Man, that really hits hard to be the last words you hear from your Dad. This is how Sheldon became the person we know in TBBT. I think he was so traumatized by this that he blocked out some details and why he called his father a drunk.
RIP George Cooper, you were a great person and you’d be proud of what your children all became.
he also saw his dad drink beer all the time, seeing that could make you think he was a drunk, even if he wasn't.
Sheldon even started to build up lies like his father spanking Georgie, constantly carrying gun, or his mother trying to poison him because he was such abusive.
@teencritik5512 Yeah, I think that was sheldons hoping mechanism. Just look at how he treated Amy at the beginning of Season 9 when they broke up
@@AlfiesChannelGaming He was in denial, he didn’t wanted to admit that she no longer was his girlfriend, he was truly heartbroken.
However my previous commentary was sarcastic. Obviously, Sheldon wasn’t coming up with lies about his father, it’s juste that the writers decided to rewrite George character even tough he was supposed to be a bad father , originally.
The show obviously toned down his abusiveness for the sake of tbe show. They can't show sheldon being beat by his father on tv.
I want to see Sheldon let it all out. He’s cried before. Especially after that “Bye, son” 🥺
I think Sheldon might either do that when he's with Mary or when he's by himself.

@@omarcogle1965 Sometimes people who appear to be very "under control" emotionally are positively terrified to ever loosen that control even for a second....they fear that once the emotions are "let out" there won't be any way to regain control. (i.e. if they fall apart, there will be no way to put themselves back together again)
@@awesomeRN2006 I think Mary's never taught Sheldon how to deal with his emotions. Such as his first encounter with Paige, he tried suppressing his emotional like Spock, but eventually failed at it. In his adult years he's had several outbursts, when Howard & Raj were arguing in the Comic Book store, it triggered a past memory and he lashed out at them. In the aftermath of his breakup with Amy, Sheldon was barely keeping it together during his interview with Leonard Nimoy's son, when Penny was asking about the ring Sheldon had for Amy, he lashed out, and when he was thinking like Spock, and Penny called him out on it, he lashed out again.

Yeah it’s very well done. It’s a complete subversion of expansion. Since we all knew it was coming I bet a lot of us expected it to be a big deal where we watch the death happen and see his last seconds of life but instead they pulled a 180 and had it happen right of screen at the end of an episode with basically no build up, leaving it feeling very unexpected and realistic and they you have all these other small bits you start realising, wait that seen just before was the last time he interacted with the twins and his wife, wait Georgie just walked out the room he doesn’t know yet. Seeing Georgie taking care of his sister is so wholesome. It really really shows how much he grew up, from that day he didn't even bother when Sheldon choked, to now when he's gonna take care of his mom and sister.
While he already was protective of her, I wish he shows some kind of affection towards his other sibling too, atleast once before he goes away to Caltech.

Adult Sheldon has always talked about his father as a womanizing alcoholic but maybe the whole 7 seasons of Young Sheldon was him, now as a father himself, reflecting about his family with Amy and Howard supporting him along the way, and correcting his perceptions.
