It's upsetting that Alan thinks he shouldn't complain just because he's an actor, but first and foremost he's a human being deserving of respect. He worked so hard on those films, same with his TMNT actor counterparts. He has every right to critique everyone involved in this disrespect towards him. Not cool.
It’s really sad that he didn’t get work after blue mountain. He was an amazing comedic actor. He reminds me of John cenas comedic roles. If more studios would’ve given Alan a chance he could’ve had an amazing career. He’s great as teacher tho but most people haven’t watched that show
Bear in mind, though, that this is his version of events. If you ever hear an actor complain that the crew was treated better than him, like he just did, it’s a good sign to be skeptical. And he didn’t say he thought he shouldn’t complain, he said he thought people weren’t going to take his complaining seriously. That’s not so much self-deprecating as arrogant.

This is kinda sad to hear because I think all the actors who played the Turtles in the 2014 and 2016 TMNT movies did a great job despite how badly they were treated.
It's so funny how Megan Fox and Will Arnett were treated so much better when their characters were really bland and forgettable.

Absolutely love Alan as an actor. He's got integrity, passion and drive. I've loved every role he's played that I've seen so far and I hope he gets the recognition he deserves. As someone else mentioned, Reacher is amazing and a good test of his acting prowess. He is very entertaining to watch and that's the point.
If you haven't seen TITANS it's a bit slow to start but it does get better eventually, he does great in that show

Add onto that--conservatively--a $70m marketing and distribution budget (it was probably higher, as is usual for such films, but I'm low-balling). Let's say total budget was roughly $200m then, with budget + marketing + distribution. Studios take roughly HALF the box office and the theaters take the other half. At the LOW END the movie needed $400m JUST TO BREAK EVEN. It only received $245m in its worldwide run, meaning it lost a good $150m or more for the studio.

What I liked about Roxy’s style of interviewing that I couldn’t appreciate at the time of watching this is she’s so serious and inquisitive and she gives the person time to talk. And when she asks a question, she follows up for details.

As someone who's trying to get into acting and writing and stuff, this is a very helpful insight as to what kind of behavior can be expected from certain companies and directors and whatnot.
When entering this industry, you need to mind your surroundings.
Make no mistake about it. That's in every industry.
It's just more public in this specific case.

It wasn't just Michael Bay (or probably not at all). It was probably all of the other producers involved with both films (Form, Fuller, Walker, and Mednick).
I didn’t know Hawk was also a TMNT and hearing his side of the story is so heartbreaking, and he’s a really good actor too that’s a shame, we appreciate the honesty, honestly.

@@Ishbikes they were similar, but not cussing. The animals were cool but way to large to be ninja at that point. And some of the cgi did last too. The story sucked, the plot ripped off spiderman, and most of the actors.. Fox especially.. were bad. And the Casey Jones in this was not Casey Jones we loved in the 90s film. Totally lacking and opposite.

Seems like he valued himself more than they did simple as that. Notice how he hesitated when they asked if everyone else had the same experience. Then he went on to back track and say Will and Megan got better treatment cuz they had "real writers" and yada yada. No, they had better agents. And those things he is complaining about get negotiated in contracts. Of course the studio is going to try to keep costs as low as possible. Those perks usually come out of the actors pay, cuz they usually have a full entourage they pay for and that will be stipulated in the contract. So he needs to he mad at his agent. He screwed himself.

But this is business and you gotta fight and take it because nobody in that biz is going to take money out of their pockets to put it in yours to give you amenities (if every single employee got every amenities they want production costs would just get out of control, tjat is why these things are negotiated up front! And He knows this he's just using this as a platform to be a victim since it pays so well these days. He shoulda had a better agent or listened to his instincts. So don't take a contract and then make the other person look like a piece of shit because you were willing to do it and now you want more. That's just being entitled.

The more time goes on the more we realize how incredible and special the first ninja turtles movie by Jim Henson was. A true masterpiece. The sacrifices those actors made. The genius of the writing and special effects. Staying true to the comic. Absolutely incredible and truly magical and special.

@@kiwisoup the suits were incredible. There's never been a better turtles film. Jim Hensons genius was a huge part of that. He brought those turtles to life...we haven't seen them since.
Some of us have known that and maintained that knowledge since seeing it in the theater in 1990. That said, the original movie was also plagued with production woes, but it happened to have a director who wanted to be as true to the source material as possible with commercial pressures, and of course the incredible creature effects of the Jim Henson studios. They captured lightning in a bottle and made the 2nd best comic book movie of all time.

I 100% believe him. Sometimes he goes on rants and his delivery is a bit unhinged but Alan is not a liar. He has no reason to lie. He gains nothing from lying. If you haven't seen Blue Mountain State, you have to, he's hilarious in it. Even if you don't like sports or football, the show isn't even about that it's about all the partying and hilarity. It's kind of like Community meets Always Sunny with a sprinkle of Jackass.

Wow, I’m so impressed by his transparency and overall awareness of the situation. He admits that he and his colleagues were treated poorly within this part of the industry but he’s also humble over the knowledge that ppl r going through much worse.
I love this actor, he's fantastic in Titans. He also seems very honest, genuine and straight forward but agreeable. It's a shame a production company allowed for that to happen to actors though, motion capture actors are no less actors, that's insane to think it slipped through the system. Imagine if that was done to Brolin as Thanos or what ever else. Disgusting studio.

Seeing this many years after seeing the first two TMNT movies makes me feel sorry for Alan and anyone else that was treated this way. It really showed me that some studios are only in it for the money and don't actually care about the projects or the fans.
You should go back and watch the 90s films. They aren't as flashy but those are more grounded and with good fight choreography and heart.

The first time I heard about Alan as a child was through his role as Raphael, but that was because I was curious about who played the Turtles and chose to google it. I didn’t see him, or any of the other Turtle actors, for that matter, in ads for the movies. They all deserved more recognition.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is a HUGE part of my life and honestly might have saved me from doing something rash. When I was younger, school was horrible for me I’d get bullied not just by students but by teachers, I’m autistic and they treated me like a monster. When this came out, I finally found my people, my friends, my heroes, my second family. I know the ninja turtles aren’t real, but you guys brought them to life and saved me. I know this probably isn’t what you want to hear after all the bullshit these scumbags put you through, but you guys saved my life and I can’t be more grateful to you. Thank you, I love you guys.
It's such a shame that he didn't like working on those movies at all. Those were my favorite movies towards all high school and I loved his performance the best. It was especially painful hearing that he tried so hard not to be in the second one, it's the one I like the most because it was more focused on the turtles than it was on April.

I've been rooting for Alan to play He-Man in a live-action movie for years now. Hearing these stories, I'd totally understand if starring in another big-budget action movie based on an 80's cartoon/toyline wouldn't be all that appealing for him.

I feel even worse for Johnny Knoxville who wasn't even asked to come back for the second one to dub Leonardo again. I mean not really but what was the thought process behind that? First dub the original actor and give him his own voice back in the sequel? With Splinter they dubbed the character with the same voice actor but the motion actor changed between films. This production was a mess.

Confessions Of A Movie Freak it’s okay. It has a lot of flaws but if you can look past them it’s pretty enjoyable. He’s a great edition to the show probably one of the best written on the show. Just be ready to be harassed by the blue tinted light in each scene.
