I did armed security in SC and you're right, SC and GA have the most leeway with armed security as they have the same power up to a duputy sheriff when on property and working. Being security in NYC was tough esp with the liberal laws we had.
Security is security - prevent , observe and report Law enforcement is law enforcement: maintain public order, manage public safety, and enforce laws. When you confuse security with roles traditionally reserved for law enforcement you’ll as an employee or employer get a huge lawsuit and the defendant listed is gonna be in alot trouble both criminally and civilly liable.
Amen. A lot of times were the ones calling the authorities to come and help. But we’re still there to make the call and deal with the situation cause our limits of what we can do end.
@JG-tt4sz, There are some security companies that provide excellent service by providing armed security officers to protect citizens in both private and public venues, including schools and places of worship. They often serve as first responders and work with law enforcement officers, so it is vital that security officers are armed just in case they encounter an active shooter.
If a guard carries a gun in public he needs a uniform. Not just a sport shirt, a tailored shirt with custom enbroidery. This way someone can't fake it.
Yup it’s the law. And in FL we open carry in uniform, and ccw with D/G required in plain clothes. Remember proprietary and contract security are different too.
You are also mandated to have an armed security card by said issuing state body. If not, police can stop you and you can either have your credentials revoked or get arrested esp if you falsely detain someone.
This is all good! However, there is a huge gap when it comes to training, retention, and pay. At the end its all State dependent. States like SC the division of Law Enforcement known as SLED, grants armed private security officers who are sled certified/trained the same arrest authority as a Sheriff’s Deputy on property only.
Security guards are pretty much police officers same as PMC who are soldiers for hire. While they don't hold the same kind of authority and cannot press charges or arrest or any of that, they do play a major role in people's safety
I work in security and law enforcement.. criminals going to do it regardless when they see a security officer because they know there's no arrest coming as long as they can get away quick enough before law enforcement come. There's so much limitation on security and the public know that's why they jump first when they see security but once they realize you can do anything they continue
I agree with you on limitations corresponding with Criminals adapting to the knowledge of the limitations there are methods to assist efficiency in creating a resistance against Criminals. The issue is Clients on what they want us to do. As for arrests Felony in view, and to detain by proof he is a danger to him self and others different after he has been told to leave the property and he is in a physical altercation. Cities in different states have different Laws. And insurance.... need a lot of insurance and Law support what I mean is layers.

Times are changing and people are learning. High level armed security is on its way to be extremely normalized and the new standard. They are just as important and if not more important that government funded police and agencies.
And there's no law against defending yourself from security, ever been to Papua New Guinea? Brazil? South Africa? Security guards get humbled all the time because in those countries there's no law against defending yourself from security like people think there is in the U.S.
If they would make the level 3 test more difficult to pass, it would be better for everyone. There are officers now who have no business carrying a firearm. Even pay, I'm sorry that is incorrect the average pay for a level 3-armed officer in Texas is 18-20 hr.

That "Expert" is full of it, we confront threats on a regular basis, I can't even say how many times someone has threatened to use a gun, tried to attack me or get in my face and I either have to pull my pepper spray out or put my hand on my gun and see if they're going to go for a gun. It all depends on the location and job description, if you're dealing with the public or contractors they can easily cause problems. Police have NO DUTY to save anyone's life, as ruled by the Supreme Court, "The Supreme Court ruled that cops do not have a constitutional duty to protect a citizen from harm, ruling that "[t]he duty to provide public services is owed to the public at large, and, absent a special relationship between the police and an individual, no specific legal duty exists"." Being in Armed Security / PPO for 7 years it needs to be a lot more professional, with equipment and training, it also needs to pay more, every school should have 10 or more Armed Security Officers patrolling outside or inside at all times.

There's no law against defending yourself from security, a lot of armed security guards think they're above the law, but truth is that if Kyle Rittenhouse could resist people trying to stop him, you can also defend yourself from security. No law against "resisting" a citizen's arrest since security guards aren't peace officers
It depends on the laws of whatever state you live in, there are some states where assaulting a security guard is a felony, there are also states where security guards have the same powers as law enforcement or allow security companies to have their own police departments.
Well the rise of crime aslo fallsnunder random mass shootings usually in places with no secuity if not unarmed guards running and calling 911 great. Security can do citizens arrest the company I work for is law enforcement security and security officers we have protocols for supervisors and radios that connect with the police crown Vic’s and impalas an unmarked patrol cars we are a patrol here in my state handcuffs and all not all security companies serve the same protocol and law enforcement but me we are first response on the seen gun and pepper spray bullet proof vest their is no police around in my city who patrol properties are stores not enough even when patrolling their is 2 officers in the squad car in a dangerous area ! We are the new police and police are even join the business more because of pay and discrimination!
I have a chief and major and captain in the ranks on uniforms badge to! I’m a rookie still getting my arms training and handcuff training I cannot drive the police car until I’m approved with my training! But as I’m patrolling I’m in a unmarked vehicle suv all black with lightbar not with marks! The skies the limit as a security officer not just surveillance!
Advanced handcuffing cpr

There's no law against defending yourself from security, a lot of armed security guards think they're above the law, but truth is that if Kyle Rittenhouse could resist people trying to stop him, you can also defend yourself from security. No law against "resisting" a citizen's arrest since security guards aren't peace officers
Kyle Rittenhouse was acquitted of self-defense. You don’t do prison time for self-defense.
But from the time you call 911 and the say 3-5 minutes for pilice to respond its gonna be too late im dead.. armed guard already there observing the incident and takes action in .5 seconds, id say its worth it to have secuirty eveeywhere.
Police operate to the exact same rules as any citizen. They get more training but that is all
No, not really guy.
If you saw someone commit a crime, tied them up and put them in a jail. You’d be arrested for kidnap
@@razy7609 DA’s office “arrest the Batman.”
But remember Police are sworn officers, security officers are not.
Everybody talking about pay that's because you don't have the skill set to get paid more 😂
Security guards are not cops. If certain city's want Security to replace police in certain areas then those guards need better training

Nice people who can be bought are always the safer bet…🙄
In Pennsylvania, state agents (commissioned by the Commissioner of the Pennsylvania state police & we dont wanna be confused with an armed security guard/officer although LEGALLY to work ARMED if YOU NOT A COP OR FED you must be Act 235 certified WITH firearms) can carry many firearms as they want, handcuffs & place people in cuffs but let police take them to jail😅. But they must have the correct crendentials🫡
235 is nothing but a cert you are a armed security job and that’s it
@@giovanni2214 If you really believe that statement is true, then you must not know.
@@PBE86 I live in Philadelphia I have a 235 I know what it is. You are just a armed security guard nothing more nothing less. There’s nothing wrong with that I make over 80k a year being a contractor and I am okay with just being a security guard 👍🏻
Is that what that chief that is guarding the gas station? He said he is an agent not security! Idk if u seen the video of him!
@@policeofficer65 yes, thats him & I know him.. he is my boss. We do armed security at multiple gas stations with ar15's & shotguns.

How long is it going to take for legislation to catch up? Who knew Robocop would be art imitating life?
All for this aswell security guards are better
Talk to me when you can carry on LEOSA! Then you’re legit! (No agency will hire me :()
I can see this going the same way as Blackwater all good in theory and a limited successes in the real world but when in comes down to it, it will all go pear shaped once litigation start to come in and prison terms are imposed and who are they accountable to government or private corporations?
Exactly! As they get sued into oblivion and sent to prison they’ll understand this was a really bad idea. The cops are constantly sued and that’s with the barrier of qualified immunity. I can’t wait to see what happens to these lowly security guards. And the FOP won’t be showing up with a team of lawyers and money for their defense either.
@conservitarian1737 They will be Profit orientated with little or no regard to legislation and will overstep the mark. Your right they have no more power than the normal person on the streets so for argument sake they tell some teenager to move who are doing nothing wrong 1 of 2 things will happen the teenagers rights will of been abused or the situation will escalate police will be involved and the teenagers will be the ones that done. What right has my next door neighbour to tell me I cant stand out side his house on a public street and it's going to be the same for these private neighbourhood security firms
Dude private security, vs private military contracting are two entirely different worlds. Ignorant statement to make
I was only making a comparison ie private military firms used in a war as apposed to regular military and private security instead of law enforcement in each case there is deniability and little if no government accountability @@Shieldel
God i wish Allied had this mindset 😂
Allied is worthless.
It’s gonna happen. Cops are literally just security guards that enforce everything besides malls and private areas.
Security Officers. Not guards.

So no qualified immunity?
Security guards are not police but a lot of new security companies are trying to pass off security guards as police
New world as police depts fail time and time again due to this new "woke agenda" more and more private security in a police like format is goign to arise
Not really true but the way security companies are carrying themselves are becoming more professional with name brand uniforms and equipment.
The one guard walks like he has huge muscles.😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 cop wannabes 😂😂😂😂😂
In Florida specifically in South Florida (Miami) they don't even speak English.
That’s not entirely true. Lived and worked there for a very long time. Just because someone choose to speak another language doesn’t discredit their intent or work. In fact being bilingual gets more pay for some.
Same people with even less accountability.
Security is actually extremely more accountable than law enforcement.
😂😂😂😂
Hows the defund, anti police, decriminalization, blm thingy working out for ya Americans?
Majority of Police departments aren't getting defunded. The police are destroying public trust, decriminalization is not doing anything, and blm is just a saying. They have nothing to do with security.
Pound sand .

Also they have little or No authority what so ever
Neither do you, but you’d want someone to listen to you if they were in a negative space. They have training and they have desire to assist …so authority for what
Depends on the crime taking place ..
They do for the site are client they are working for as an fellow officer 👮♂️
Yet, Security Guard still have the right to make authority on citizen arrest of a felony crime.

This guys are only security not cops. So, in case the general public has an encounter with them. They are not cops. They may have a weapon but are not entitled to uphold any law.
Nobody in the video said that they are cops.
A lot of times security guards or officers enforcing the rules and regulations. They can do citizen arrest on people but also if there active shooters and much more.
There’s a difference between hiring just a security company to sit behind a desk all day and the contract just wants them to sit and twiddle there thumbs or there company that go out and are patrolling and making a difference.
