Ok my instructor is teaching me x1 full turn to the left, then when the triangle disappears(pavement / road) full right turn to lock and then straighten up when the door handle is parallel to the curb.
@@notifymichael7273nothing different but it takes 1 and a half turn to Straighten your wheels after you park . Rest is same reference points and observations 6 points
Great video. I was taught L R R L and as far as I can see yours is L R L (combining the 2 right turns into a single move). Does this 3 turn method rely on having a wide road and 2 car lengths? I live on a narrow terraced road with cars on both sides, so often don't have much swing room. Also the spaces are often quite small (maybe 1.5 car lengths). I've been parking fine here for years, without really thinking about it. However we have a new car that is slightly bigger, and harder to park. I'm trying to get a method nailed down and I like your use of reference points on the vehicle.
How does work with a 3 door car? Is it a case of trying the method and finding a suitable reference point? Training for an ADI 2 And parallel parking is a nemesis of mine!
What if the parked car is facing the other way?? My sons test tomorrow and he says he can’t remember his fool proof way when his instructor has told home to change it 😢
@@BradleysDrivingSchool there’s a specific road in Forest Hall (north Tyneside) that is known for parallel parking on a slight hill cars are usually parked both ways. Wondered if it was slightly different?
Half left. Door hand hits pavement. One right. When parallel. Half left to straighten? 🤔 This is different and seems like a shorter vers of thete 1.2.1 interesting! Will attempt
My instructor insists on doing the 1.2.1 and to adjust the left mirrow down. It is just too complicated for me. Test is in 2 weeks and I still have not mastered the parallel parking. 😭
Am not keen on that method as some of my pupils find it quite difficult. Just remember if you hit the kerb or finish a little wide, just fix it. Dry steering is not normally marked on the driving test
Lot of instructors use that method. Nothing wrong with it. For some pupils it’s too much information to remember. We like to keep it simple as possible until it becomes muscle memory.
@@BradleysDrivingSchool Is it ok to steer with only one hand on steering and the right had holding the back of the other front seat from driving test perspective? Thanks 2:34
When i have tried this and turned the wheel to 6 , my car ( a golf ) turns to the curb very wide , then when i double lock ( because i am quite close to the car behind because of how i have turned in at such a diagonal angle ) i end up quite a fair distance from the curb. What is the reason for this please ? Hope that makes sense.

Best video explaining parallel parking very simply , especially in terms of turn of steering wheel at each manoeuvre.

Never thought this existed. Everyone pretty much will just say 1-2-1 method.
Thanks for sharing! I will try it out.
This video only finally got me to understand it and I had to do it in my test and passed!
Oh my gosh what a good teaching way and soothing voice , brief instructions.... brilliant and thanks 😊
This is the way I was taught and I’m so glad I found this video on the morning of my test.

I thought it’s when the triangle appears is when you make the full turn right lock?
One full turn to the left, two full slow turns to the right ,one full turn to the left and this will straighten up the car . Easy peasy 😂
Great video, what is this technique called?

About 3 quarters of a car length

It doesn’t make any difference, just use the front of the car. Every time I have seen it done on test, the parked car has always been facing forwards

Wow you make it look so simple
Hi, thank you for watching, it’s just practice, practice makes perfect.
My test come up next month but for Parallel par is too difficult I’m scared of instructor when say do parallel park
With a space that big I would tend to only drive up to the rear passenger door and then reverse

The 1.2.1 method is too much hard work
How do you keep your speed down when doing the reversing manouvere my speed is too fast my instructor says when I’m parking up
Keep your clutch still as you start to move. Be prepared to push it back down the thickness of a pound coin if it goes too fast
wonderful thank u for your help
So nice
Great video thank you 😊
Kindly share the same technique for cone?
I think the start of the video kinda put me off knowing the tyres were just touching the kerb

What if you have a 4-door car? Which door handle should serve as a marker? Back door or front door?
I use the front. Just play about with the reference point until you find the correct spot. Your instructor should be able to tell you where it is
