Im glad you mention the main thing which is that MOST of the grading for these is how SAFE you are with REVERSING in general, not specifically how accurate you are at parking
Hello, I would like to express my sincere gratitude for your instructional video. After watching it just once, I was able to learn all four maneuvers and follow your instructions precisely. Today, I am pleased to inform you that I passed my driving test with only one minor error. The examiner asked me to perform a forward bay parking maneuver, which I executed flawlessly. I also successfully completed the reverse parking maneuver. I would like to extend my appreciation once again for your valuable guidance.
Thank you so much! This is probably best "how to do maneuvers" video I've seen. Simple, clear & straight to the point. Its given me a ton of confidence before my test next week!
I’ve been driving 7 years, I never have been able to parallel park, I don’t think I ever will be able to parallel park and i absolutely do avoid parallel parking at all costs
Passed my test today and was asked to do forward bay. All thanks to my instructor, for teaching me all 4 maneuvers easily with right references! Also wanted to thankyou for all the video uploads. They are all great learning vids and keep up the good work 😊
True to what you say, examiner doesn’t care if you are good at parallel parking, all he cares is are you doing your all around observation and safe. I was a bit wonky on my parking on my test but as long as I am within the line, not obstructing and most importantly doing your all around observation, it’s a pass.
Not necessarily! I failed even it I parked it with all the observations done correctly. They put it down as a major because I didn’t leave a car lengths space with the car in the front🥲 they said if I reversed at the end it would have been fine.
@@alexandramaria2958I have my test on Monday, I didn’t realise you have to leave a car length in between? Is it just enough room that you can get out again?

Passed my test last month. My instructor exclusively taught me the 90° reverse park. I’ve not had a single opportunity to do that manoeuvre in car parks. Rather, I’ve had to learn 45° which is sooo much easier for me. I don’t know why I wasn’t taught this initially.
Thank you , I literally memorised your parking manoeuvres since weekend😂😂 I passed today with 7minors. My reverse Bay parking was spot on. Just one take. no driving forward or back.
8:12 that person parking in the blue car could do with some lessons on parking 😂 Just kidding. Thanks Francis. I've been really struggling with parking since i passed. Very helpful 👍🏼
this is explained to how i got taught but when im on my next lesson im definitely going to try this method got my test in exactly a week from today i hope i pass
Didn't get to choose which side to park, which my instructor said they've never heard of😅 Saved this video so I can keep reminding myself, hopefully I'll pass next time🙏
Great video, informative and simple to understand. I have an extended driving test in a week's time and I'm told I'll need to do 2 manoeuvres, plus it's an hour. Is there anything else I'll be asked to do that's not in a standard test?
the last parking reverse its not so good because you cross the line with the car... I think you are too forward on the 3 line .. its ok at 3 line to be at your mirror not shoulder
Well this video did give me confidence, I watched it a few times including an hour before my driving test, it’s very practical and simple, gave me a good confidence and I passed the test ! Thank you for this video , and I hope it help others too! Cheers
Forward Bay Parking, how do i know im start and parallel in the bay before i can start straightening the steering? When Reversing out of the bay, are you saying that i can ignore the fact that there's an imaginary car nextbti be and start turning the steering before the wing mirror hits the back edge of the bay?
Good luck everybody looking to pass their test soon. I passed my 2nd test back in 1971 (53 years ago!) but can still benefit from videos such as this to improve my reversing into supermarket/pub parking spaces with vehicles on both sides! The aerial shots are awesome to visualise what is going on, but (unfortunately) won't be available on your test! Observation is key and, if in doubt, reposition to try again! Better safe than sorry!
Random question Francis. How do you check power steering is working? Do you simply turn the car on and move steering wheel to feel how light it is? Or do you have to be in gear once the car has started?
Goood question! That is a show me tell me question and it's on this awesome show me tell me video i made. check it out :) ruclips.net/video/dDjEMW4R_LU/видео.html

I noticed this too. At 6:38 the perspective from inside the car shows it’s the first line of the bay he did go into but from the arial view above it appears a different line because the perspective is different

Revers bay parking when you were reversing to get into the bay, you crossed over Bay Line 1. Surely you shouldn't, especially if another car is present ? Clearly see on dron footage?
On the forward bay parking you said you lined up your mirror with the bay you want to get in to but you entered the bay next to it, not the one with your wing mirror??

I struggle with forward bay parking as my driving position is too far back and too high to line up the mirror ontop the first line of the bay I always end up too far in the space next to the one I was lining up with the mirror and it drives me crazy as I can’t seem to figure out what the fuck I have to do to get it right
My instructor is refusing to teach me to park without cameras. I told him the car I’m getting doesn’t have them and he said “buy some they are only £300” got my test in aug and it’s stressing me out. He also said I don’t need to use handbrake& parking break when doing a parallel park on test. Is this true? I’m learning auto if that makes a difference
The reverse camera should only be used like you used a mirror, so no long viewing of the screen. If you feel the need for the brake, then use it as long as it's safe

Hello Francis, in my car the view from the back window is VERY restricted. I can see more from my rear camera than from my window and yet, the examiner will expect me to use the back window and not look at the screen. How to balance that?
