i love this video. jason has common sense that i dont think us learners are used to eg his opinion of a 6 point check. its nice to see another perspective!!
Jason reminds me of my examiner, mine really put me at ease and we got chatting away and found out we’d worked in the same area and probably met each other in passing. I clarified before I set off if it was ok for me to acknowledge/thank other drivers or if he’d do that (was told to drive safely and control the car) Found him so friendly we even had a few jokes and the test flew by and I was so calm. I think we had more banter as I was an older learner so we were a similar age. I thanked my examiner for being so nice after I’d found out I’d passed🙂
@Kneeyah 15 minors and you are actually passed even on 15, so not a fail until the 16th. It is rare to get that high, though, as repeated minors for the same thing usually escalate it to a serious. Personally I think it is way too high, though. Someone making 15 faults on a 45 minute test is making a fault every 3 minutes. If you can't go 5 minutes without making a mistake then you are a danger on the road 😂
Still feels weird seeing my town on youtube. Not used to it 😂 I'd be interested to know if I'd pass one of your mock tests if youre here again (already had my license a couple of years) Also love the common sense. "Were you intending to drive on the pavement? Well, why do you need to check it then?" Abandoned the 6 point check my instructor made me do long ago. By the time youve checked all 6 on a busy road you'd never get out. In front, road side mirror, road side blind spot and away
Did my test yesterday at Morden only to end it by pulling up in front of you filming a video. Was such a surreal moment passing my test in front of the guy whose videos helped me pass!!
OMG I've laughed so hard at him talking it out whilst doing 19m/h on a 30m/h zone 😅! This was brilliant to watch! I have my test coming up on Friday. Praying all goes well 🙏🏾
I had the same conversation with my driving instructor. She mentioned that if there's no one around, you don't necessarily have to indicate. However, I pointed out that it could be worse if you miss someone and don't signal. We both agreed that it's probably best to indicate every time, especially during the test.
Can we have more of these clips Francis and Jason? I have passed my test many moons ago, I like watching this channel though so I will continue to watch.
I know it was a joke, but I defo did a hill start on my test in Milton Keynes. Watching this after passing hits different! I just want to say that everything Jason said was with me on my test. The examiner really helped me out in a tricky situation with unexpected temporary traffic lights on a busy high street and was very light-hearted, in fact we had a laugh at state of one of the roads and said it was like Off-Roading 😂 I thought I'd failed for doing over the speed limit right at the start on a Dual Carriageway, but he said I corrected it immediately and only got a minor, but because I thought I'd failed I relaxed and just wanted feedback regardless. I did the best reverse bay park of my life back at the test centre and I thought he left it out on the route as I'd failed, but I still wanted good feedback. I didn't notice him once tap the iPad and he wasn't wearing a hi-vis which was so helpful! I definitely did the best driving of my life on the test which I didn't expect as I was absolutely petrified beforehand. Something happened to me once I got in the car to give me a kick in the backside. No idea what, it was surreal! Thanks again, guys ❤
I have had pupils fail for not doing a 6 point check when moving away, it was marked as a serious for accumulation of minors. That would tell me it depends on the examiner and at the end of the day it is safer to do the check than not do it.
id say just do them on the test to please the examiner, casual driving like he said why do you need to check the blindspot on your left when your going right just do what the examiner wants you to do
