Chris,may you also make a video where you carry out the monouvre on the right hand side of the road? I mean the very reverse parallel parking. I think this one can be a little bit tricky as I have no idea where the reference points will be.

This was the only thing I was afraid of on the test, but I got out of this one because there was an old lady just sitting behind me, blocking the space. She could see that I was about to reverse, I waited for her to go around me, the examiner even tried to tell her to just go around... yet she just sat there, with a completely blank expression. We waited for ages to see if she would get the point, but she just continued to sit there like an NPC stuck on a collidable object, and then we gave up and decided to just drive on. Later on in the test I got to do a forward bay park instead, which was much easier. She'll never know how much she has improved my quality of life just by sitting in her car.
First driving test Failed yesterday got 30 minutes in and clipped the curb doing a paralell park 😢 had email saying one serious fault and no minors after my test ughhh knowing i could have passed first time with no minors was gutted but next time I’m gunna do it and pass

I passed my test last year but still watch this videos because I still avoid things that are out of my comfort zone like parallel parking, I don't think there's any one right or wrong way of doing it because all cars are different, only way to get good at it is just keep doing it
For anyone out there who’s just passed keep at your manoeuvres! I was a master at parallel parking when I first passed years and years ago then I stopped doing it as I didn’t really need to and now years later I need to do it and I suck at it! 😂
Hi buy blind spot mirrors of Amazon basics cos you can adjust them. How I teach it is line up mirror to mirror. 1 turn to the left If you think of a clock you start facing 12 o'clock when at 1 o'clock position 1 turn to right. So road wheels are straight look at the blind spot mirror when the front door handle just about touches kerb go full right lock. Keep it slow Look behind you Anticipate and straighten up as you come around. Been teaching 22 years before the test pupils have to do 6 parallel parks independently one after another. I never fail on manouvers
The way my instructor taught me is to just try and stop with my left wing mirror near the middle of the parked vehicle before steering. The rest is the same.
I usually do full lock left/right and then full lock the other way back in. Should I just use this method instead? I have tried the 121 method before but just find it hard and even with the full lock method I just turn too early or late sometimes
At what point can i put the side mirror down on my test? Will it be a fail if i put it down straight away as i wont be able to see what is happening behind me as it will be pointed to the kerb?
I'm really struggling with this manoeuvre even with the reference points. Can't seem to get it right at all. Almost gave up on driving today because of it.
I know how to do this, but I struggle using both hands on the wheel while looking backward. Would I get a minor for steering with one hand, or is it considered dangerous? This is the only issue I have left.

You should be checking your mirrors in plenty of time. If they're right behind you, then brake gently so they can see your brake lights and then progressively brake firmer until you come to a controlled stop at the lights. There's nothing you can do out with this as you will have to stop if the lights at red
How do I drive slow and controlled without stalling? Cus I feel it starting to stall so I add more revs but it just goes to fast. I can't controll it, does anyone have tips?
you should signal left in plenty of time so the car knows what you intend to do and can slow down accordingly. however, be careful not to indicate to early as there may be roads before your turning that the car behind may think you are about to turn into instead.
The 'save the planet' by not using indicators if nobody is around nearly cost both my children to fail. They were so anxious about it l told them to use their indicators as if someone was there. Any examiner who 'fails' a test taker for over cautious use of indicators is an idiot.

I usually do full lock left/right and then full lock the other way back in. Should I just use this method instead? I have tried the 121 method before but just find it hard and even with the full lock method I just turn too early or late sometimes

At what point can i put the side mirror down on my test? Will it be a fail if i put it down straight away as i wont be able to see what is happening behind me as it will be pointed to the kerb?
You can move the mirror down before you start if you wanted.
I'm really struggling with this manoeuvre even with the reference points. Can't seem to get it right at all. Almost gave up on driving today because of it.

I know how to do this, but I struggle using both hands on the wheel while looking backward. Would I get a minor for steering with one hand, or is it considered dangerous? This is the only issue I have left.
You can reverse with one hand as long as you're in control.

You should be checking your mirrors in plenty of time. If they're right behind you, then brake gently so they can see your brake lights and then progressively brake firmer until you come to a controlled stop at the lights. There's nothing you can do out with this as you will have to stop if the lights at red

you should signal left in plenty of time so the car knows what you intend to do and can slow down accordingly. however, be careful not to indicate to early as there may be roads before your turning that the car behind may think you are about to turn into instead.

The 'save the planet' by not using indicators if nobody is around nearly cost both my children to fail. They were so anxious about it l told them to use their indicators as if someone was there. Any examiner who 'fails' a test taker for over cautious use of indicators is an idiot.
