My instructor teaches this way. Park alongside car, reverse until the back of the car is visible from the passenger side window, then left full lock and reverse till your about 45 degrees, then right full lock until you are straight
Thanks for this, Pin. My driving instructor has taught me something similar and both have helped me but I still feel a bit nervous when practicing my reverse parking. This makes me feel a bit more at ease and will definitely help whenever my lessons resume.
This would be a great tip if there’s always a huge gap like in the test but that’s really not the case! Please can you show us a video of how to Parallel park in small gap... that would be really helpful but thank you for all the other tips xxx
Hi Pin , thank you for This video! It will really help me as I failed before corona because of the reverse bay parking ☹️I failed before leaving the test center when he asked me to park in the test car park ! I will never forget that feeling leaving the test center the first 7 mints when knowing that I failed ! But I carried on the driving and I had only 4 Minor and it was my 1 test driving test ☹️ such a horrible feeling but any way .. good luck to everyone one
Anyone can reverse park with such a massive gap. You need to show us a video that has a small gap between two cars.. that’s what is a more realistic scenario and requires far more effort
In your test your required to do a parallel park within 2 spaces. That means the gap the examiner will choose is 2 cars long. It’s not realistic, I agree but he is teaching people how to pass their test which is his job!
You won’t have to do that on the driving test. If you want to learn how to park in tight spaces, you can teach your self and learn on your own when you have a licence, a car and plenty of free time so you can practice.
Most of the time, examiners won’t make you park in tight spaces. No worries. If you encounter an examiner that tells you to park in a very tight space then he/she must want you to fail. Lol
this video was really helpful can you also do a video on forward bay parking and reverse bay parking with the clutch control camera angle too, that’s really helpful - I get so confused on trying to remember when to turn when I’m reverse bay parking because most of the times I get it confused with the forward bay parking references
Good to see you doing RUclips videos of how to drive Pin Binning. Another few online instructors did videos similar too but the first RUclips channel I ever started watching, which was World Driving UK with Chris an instructor, he hasn't been brave enough to show his face on camera like you😅. My new car, a big SUV I've got a little more used to parking it, of course larger cars can be a little different to park than a city car. It's good to have more videos 😉
Show how to reverse into a residential carpark with fencing on both side on a small road with cars parked on both sides of the road and a van parked in front of the drop curb because haha I just ripped the front bumper off lol
I’ve had my license for a couple of years now, I feel like this technique wouldn’t be that good in the modern world. I feel as if this would only be beneficial for a test where you’d do it with adequate space. But I suppose it’ll be a good base to practice from until you get your own technique.
I get what you’re saying but realistically no one would be reverse parallel parking with a space like that. I know it’s good for a learner to practice for the test because that’s the sort of gap you get but certainly where I live you won’t ever see a gap like that.
If possible, can you please do a tutorial parking in tight spaces. I passed I think in February, but I used this same method 1-2-1 that I was taught in lessons doesn't really help with tight spaces. I don't know any other method
The video at 3:20 shows him turning very wide and then all of a sudden at 3:50 he is a lot closer. Magic system. And what is with leaving the massive gap between cars.
TheTubeDudeRulz Yeah he would have been wid a bit hit and miss this manoeuvre depends how your mirror is adjusted too i normally tell them to wait for the road to dissapear then do 2 turns right or full lock if needed.
Please could you show us a video of reversing in between two parked cars? Realistically this is what we’d encounter in the real world and I struggle.. Much appreciated as your videos are well informative!
Good technique my instructor taught me to make sure my vechile is 1 metre from the parked vechile then you turn the wheel halfway anticlock wise. Then you start reversing and stop until there is a small gap from the kerb and the back wheel then you fully turn the wheel the clockwise then you reverse until your car is touches the curve.
You'll be fine then, I believe they're on hold until the fourth of July and as the social distance has gone down to one meter i think it's more than likely that it'll resume.

Hi Pin, I have been watching your videos for a long time now, I passed my test in April 21. I live in Guernsey. I can reverse parallel park my car perfectly but I have a problem. Around my house there is a road where only two cars next to each other can fit, so on the left side of the road, there are parked cars and on the right we drive. When I want to par between two cars on that road, I can never manage, because on the right side of the road there is a wall. I don’t know how others car park. Is there a way to parallel park without swinging the car much to the right? Thanks.
Hi guys! Have anyone one here did use the course? It is helpful? I’m already had 20 lessons so far don’t know when I will be ready for the final test also the system booking a bit busy at the moment so I just keep learning until be ready . I’m sorry but how much is cost for the course?
motorway driving is easy. The speed limit is 70 most people do 80, 90. Stay in the left lane unless you need to overtake then use the middle or right lane when needed, don't hog the overtaking lanes as this annoys drivers behind. when emerging on the motorway match the speed of traffic already on the motorway by doing 60-70mph. A good example how good lane discipline increases road safety here is a video of the German autobahn which has no speed limit and undertaking is strictly forbidden ruclips.net/video/j3d72LWXOwQ/видео.html

It's almost impossible to fail this manoeuvre if you have reference points that work. When you pull up next to the car, reverse until you're level or a bit further back. Steer one turn to the left, if you look in the side mirror as you're reversing a triangle will appear between the kerb and the car door, keep reversing until this triangle is very small, and then full lock right. There are other reference points but this one worked best for me
Yes as soon as your side mirror is in line with the middle of the car your next to then you turn the wheel once then twice the opposite way then back the first way to straighten up, just keep trying youll get there practice makes perfect.good luck
This is Good for the test not for real life, this way of parking is good when you have a lot of space to park, in real life it's a tiny space with ten cars screaming behind you
Yes you can do it your own way, no need to feed the wheel. As long as steering is safe then no issues. You can also steer whilst stationary. Dry steering isn't a fault on test.
Emma Whitehead it is a minor fault. i watched one of dgn driving school’s videos and a learner driver was dry steering while doing a parallel parking manoeuvre and pin clarified that it was a driving fault. so yes, dry steering is a minor
You should never park a car and set it in neutral. Always put it in first gear because it will work as a break if the other breakes fail while the car is parked.
Pretty sure u were reading my mind as I need to perfect my parking and I’ve been panicking thank you!
