      That's pretty easy to do.
      1 - Insert thumb drive
      2 - Format thumb drive
      3 - Download bios to said thumb drive
      Easy Peasy......it can be a little intimidating at first but it is way

    Excellent explanation, thank you.
    The red 1.3 volt SOC setting ~ Way back, months ago, I noticed Michael Larabel, Mr Phoronix, had issues with an AGESA and an early zen-4 16 core + RDNA latest version, and it had something to do with that 1.3 volt SOC setting, and he ended up doing the GPU test on a previous gen Ryzen, and he told us once they fixed it, or they told him how to fix it, he would revisit that test, but so far, he doesn't seem to have done so. I infer ~ I presume ~ that manual 'undervolt' of the SOC would fix the issue he was having. That did seem to be what the issue was all about, but the question just seemed to slide off the back of the workbench because of the stream of new things...
    ? Yes, I'm a Linux-head, and I'm not going to have or use any of the Windows tools to set my next machine up. I will HAVE a Windows install, but that's going to live inside a VirtualBox. That's not relevant to the stuff we're talking about here.
    The issue was that 1.3 volt SOC setting, which was not friendly to the newest latest Radion GPU. If memory serves, it did boot and it did run, but it was getting video scores that were pretty exactly half what they should have been. That SOC voltage was the issue.

    I saw in your build video in the comments you said you had to use a slower ram kit and cpu in order to get the initial boot up and bios updated.

    Hi I just built my first PC a few months ago and have unfortunately been getting nothing but crashes to desktop, blue screens, and even a random shutdown when I play games like baldurs gate on 4k resolution ultra settings (it has even crashed on lower settings as well). I’ve tried reinstalling drivers, replacing gpu, replacing PSU, and still the same issues. I have a b650 wifi, 7900 xtx taichi, 7800 x3d, 6400 32gig ram, 1000 wat phanteks (just replaced to 1200 wat), updated all drivers and windows. I think the only thing I haven't tried yet is disabling xmp and reducing ram speeds. I’ve been reading it’s best to reduce to 6000 but I’m a noob with timings, voltages, etc. Any suggestions would be much appreciated! Thank you!!

      @LEGITSTEEL 5 месяцев назад +1

      Ram issues are sly, they aren't always easily noticeable, I would try and reduce the speed of your ram slowly in iterations until it all appears to work okay. This happened to me, had to lower the speed but everything worked okay

      That means either the USB drive is not FAT32 format or you have downloaded the wrong bios for the motherboard.
