New here, quick question: Just to confirm, I don’t need to connect a display for this process, right? I just insert the USB into the gray USB port, attach the 24-pin connector, press and hold the Flash button for 3 seconds, and wait until the flashing stops? No need to connect a display or monitor anything on the screen? I’ve been building PCs for over 25 years, but now that I’m diving into servers, I figured it’s time to learn this. If it says it matches the latest, you're good; once you have it power o with CPU, RAM, etc., you can quickly double check what version it says it contains..
i generally update to the newest version at the moment as the platform is new and evolving
@@mdd1963 yeah thats a good idea, i just dont wana risk the slight chance of my power cutting during the update, had a power cut a couple months ago because of bad weather.
Great Video. If I have a 64GB stick with exFAT format will it work the same?
no it can't read exfat file systems
CAN YOU HELP ME PLEAE!!! I've built my first pc for the WiFi version of the board. It won't post and I've tried the bios update and it won't do that either. Should I disconnect all the parts and retry?
does it attempt to post at all? diagnostic leds etc?
Nope, nothing. I've tried taking it apart, remove a stick of ram, removed gpu, ssd everything. Nothing is working. I've got 2 solid red lights on vga and boot

But does it work if my PC with RAMS,CPU and fully built? because mine still stuck on DRAM and CPU led
yes it will, but it is harder to diagnose flash failure if it happens with a fully built system
Hello sir, tk u but my asrock b650m riptide isnt displaying screen, it just loads asrock and then stays blank in the screen when boot up, we still havent install windows, i accidentally turned on the CSM and so if this method would reset my bios right? Bios flashback, but can download any version of bios or latest ?
yes this will reset the bios to defaults which will turn off CSM then you can install windows, get the newest bios you can
@mikesunboxing yes boss tk u, we just set up and installed the windows and reset already
Hello, I have this same motherboard, I want to know if for the Ryzen 5 8600g should I use 2.02 that the CPU list suggests or use 2.10, which is the most recent..
use the most recent one
Thank you, i read manual but still scared ruining my mobo so need to watch someone demonstrate it first
Where can i Download the drivers for this Motherboard and what drivers do i need
Get the asrock driver installer on the motherboard site and it will do them all for you
I ordered a 64 GB USB drive from Newegg when ordering my PC components. I got a bit worried when I realized that anything above 32 gigabytes needed to be partitioned. However after I download it the windows install media to this drive the drive was automatically partition to FAT32 I do not know why/how exactly. I checked the file format prior to installing Windows media it would only let me change to exfat after the Windows media install the drive now reads 32 GB FAT32 format. Or Just figured I would share this information with others.
thanks for the info
7800x32 says validated 1.21 so should I just stay with 1.21 or update to 2.08?
get the newest one
@@mikesunboxing Okay I'll go with 2.08 thanks.
Hi Mike and Kath,i think that i have watched all of your vids on bios flask back seem to pick up a few tidbits on each one i watch.this current rebuild is the second build of the year.I purshed a Asrock B650 Lightning because of it`s ratings not sure it was a good choice.bought a card for Wifi and blue tooth and another riser card for extra sata ports for all sixof my drives.I was wondering what you know about yubikeys and passkeys heard windows is going to passkeys in July.See you on the live stream later this afternoon.
not sure about those really, but seeing it mentioned more and more. lots of the apps are starting to ask if you want to use passkeys. i need to learn more
Is it a must to update the bios before building the whole thing?
not really but a good idea for the new vulnerabilities on the platform, or a necessity if your cpu is not supported
@@mikesunboxing I see. I have the same mobo but the WiFi version and r5 7500f. I don't have to update it first, right? Appreciate the response!
Which usb type do I need to use for this? 2.0 or 3.0 or either is fine
either is possible, the sandisk flair 32gb is the best i have ever used
When flashing the BIOS, I turned off the computer because I had installed the wrong BIOS and now the computer does not turn on, what should I do, only the fans are spinning?
Pls help me pls asrock h610m-hvs/m.2 r2.0
was it in the flash process when you switched it off? if so you might have bricked the bios
@mikesunboxing bro idk my bed
Can i do it while there is a custom windows in the usb /fat32/
never tried it but it is possible i guess
@@mikesunboxing and also if it is ok to ask out of the vid if i build a pc with out a gpu just cpu7600x if i got the gpu can i plug it with no need to do any thing else?
You are the best
thanks
I have the same motherboard and the MOSFET heatsink can be moved if pushed by finger, is this normal? Can someone tell if their Asrock B650M doing the same? I'm freaking out
yeah that is fine, spring tension is all that is needed
Is there a posibility that my pc cant detect the ssd due to outdated version of bios?
Currently Im on version 1.28 and i have a wd_black sn850x.
I have had access to the ssd multiple times by just taking it out of the slot and re-inserting. But now it doesnt work in any of the slots. If you have any suggestions at all Pls let me know. (Btw Im stuck in bios since Windows was on the ssd aswell)
try toggling the BIOS from UEFI to CSM and back. otherwise it sounds like a dead drive to me
@@mikesunboxing problem is that it works right now for example. So the ssd is not dead, it just sometimes doesnt get recognised
when i extracted my file it was a .31 file instead of a .rom file is there anything wrong with that?
you have to rename it as shown in the video
What if in format usb, i dont have fat32, that problem or not?
it won't read it unless it is fat32. we have a video in the description to make a smaller partition on larger drives
I am sure that I am doing everything correctly and according to the instructions, but instead of flashing, the indicator just lights up and does not turn off, no matter how much time has passed, can you help me?
There are a lot of reasons the BIOS update won't work as it should. If you are interested, we have made a video discussing common errors and some sanity checks you can make before considering returning the motherboard or taking it to a professional.

yes get the newest bios
Hi mike, after I updated the bios to 3.06 (the latest one), my pc still do nothing, only the rgb on the mobo lighting up. My pc still do nothing beside that rgb

yes i belive so
Спасибо. Все довольно просто и понятно.
Is this the same for a asrock a620m pro rs motherboard?
yes it is
Great video, thank you.
Glad you liked it!
is 32gb sand disk necessary can't i use 8gb ??
yes 32GB or less
IMPORTANT!!! when doing a instant flash in bios it is important to plug the usb drive that has new bios into the back of the motherboard dedicated usb for bios or else it wont work, happend to me. i pluged it into the front of the case and it would just shut off
i have a b650m and am using a 7600x do i need to do a flashback?

hi i have a fully built pc and my RTX 4080 keeps crashing dxgi_error_device_hung but Nvidia ask me to update my bios is it safe to do so is already build
weird? not sure why that would happen, but update the bios seems like a valid thing to do
You can normally update bios instead of flashing it. That means you dont have to disassemble your pc
Just search asrock bios update guide.. im pretty sure mike done it
@@NajiSibin thank you done and dusted just not got time to try it see if it crashes again
@@mikesunboxing will do thanks

I can’t get this board to read my RTX 4060 but it can read my RTX 3050. Do you have any ideas?
no idea why it would do one and not the other? very strange are you plugging in the extra power cord for it
@ yup I just installed the new bios so I will try to install the RTX 4060 back into it. I also researched about the new bios which is currently 3.10 and apparently it also has issues with the RTX 40 series gpus.
From being an angry husband not talking to my wife to exited little kid.. this is how much this video made me and my day once my asrock bios2.1 did not boot x5 9600x… not all good:)
*now all good
glad you got there in the end
very well done ill try that on an older build tks
thanks for watching
Is this motherboard support intel XMP?
it can do but XMP is intel you really want EXPO for AMD or ram that supports both
what do i do if its a solid green light? it blinks for like 2 seconds and then turns straight into a solid green light, I did everything correctly, i have no clue what else to do.
ive also made sure its a mbr and not a gpt and still doesnt work
that means it can't read the USB or the file on the USB
I have a ryzen 7 7700 processor. When updating the BIOS via Instant Flash version 2.10, it showed Invalid file. But after your video I noticed that there is a CPU Support List where it is indicated for my CPU Validated BIOS version 1.18. Is it possible that the Invalid file is due to my Ryzen 7 7700 CPU? Or can I update the BIOS via Flashback to versions 2.10? Currently I have BIOS version 1.28
there seem to be a lot of bios files saying that at the moment, not sure what is causing it. try the USB flashback, it might just be an mflash problem
Wow doing it like that makes it a lot less stressful
Can you recover corrupt bios this way?
yes it is possible
Thankyou so much sir
Most welcome
Thx bro🙌
No problem 👍
Thanks!
No problem!
Does WinRAR work with all this?
it can but there is no need, the windows built in software is easier
Hello all, I recently got this configuration:
Cpu ryzen 5 7500f
Gpu geforce 3060
Ram 2x16gb 6000mhz cl36
Motherboard: Asrock b650m pro rs

check your ram is fully inserted and also try one stick at a time in slot 2

Reading tons of bugs and horror stories with 2.02… think i should just stick with 1.28 to be safe.
bro my board came with 2.02 and my pc I just built wont do anything past the rgb lights. This is my 5th thing im trying, since I never did it at the start, since the 2.02 was past my needs for 78003xd. So im hoping the most recent will be ok >.< Praying to gamer jesus
In my case it's stays green..no flashing ..
I have used different usb and now it works
glad you got it sorted in the end
