    13:13 that’s me. I’m that guy. Will be pulling the trigger on a used M10R. These 3rd party lens’ have helped the barrier to entry.
    My current #1 35mm is my Canon Ef 1.4 II.
    Aside from close focus ability, I think these Simera’s are the ones to get until Leica glass day, allowing me for some time to GAS out for whatever that lens will be.
    The 3rd party lens’ change that calculus as they get better, being so good.

    I see they have a Sony FE mount version. Toying with selling my Voigtander 40mm f1.2 for this lighter lens....

    Simera = Today (in Greek)
    Thypoch also derives at least partly from Greek (think Epoch which in Greek means "period" (as in time) ). I'm not quit sure about the Thy root, it may be English.

      Yes- the thy refers to "you" - so basically, "Your moment" or "your time".

    About the Leica owners, that are interested in this lens.
    Leica bodies tend to lose quite a bit of worth when a newer body is released but then stay at this price for quite some time.
    What this means is, that you still have to put down 5 to 6k, but if you sell it a couple of years later, you will still get good money. Sometimes even more than you put down.
    So the cost of ownership can be quite low in Leica bodies. Combine that with cheaper lenses and it is managable.
    Thanks for the Review!

      There is also the world of M mount film cameras by Voigtlander and Minolta that are relatively affordable and pair nicely with these 3rd party lenses

      I adapted it to a Sony a7RV using multiple adapters.

    No mention of it’s real competition ? That is not a Leica lens but starts with a V…

      I haven't tested the direct Voigtlander counterpart. I do like Voigt glass, though.

    Maybe ask your wife next time not to make noise while you're filming..

      Yep. I ran out of time at the office and had to film at home, but it was better for my marriage for you to listen to a bit of cooking sounds than it would have been for me to ask her to stop ;)

      @@DustinAbbottTWI Davinci Resolve's voice isolation works incredibly well in situations like this. It'd completely remove those sounds with no artifacting.
