I vote having a Bigwallet retirement community, so that there's a place to send the older Bigwallets to all be together once they get older and are no longer the focus of a Let's Play
Yes, but after the Blue goes a while, then a Rose Period, then African, then Primitive, then Cubism, Surrealism, and on until he is 91! Seriously tho, the only kit I've bought so far is the Maximalist one, so bring it on.
I dunno what you were worried about, I love all the colours! I love that dark blue flowery wallpaper. I was actually trying to take a note of what pack or kit it was in the other day. Such good use of space in all the builds as well.
@@RachaelTheRed Glad to get confirmation I got the kit right! I was squinting at the squiggle in the tiny icon in the corner of the wallpaper preview box in the menu on the video and then looking at all the pack icons on James' website trying to figure out which one it most looked like xD
Ok but I actually LOVE the maximilast house. It has a bit of fun. I love the mix of kids play room and old stuff like the tv in the basement area. Love how he got all those bedrooms in there even a nursery and they are more toned down but the main floor is loud. I just love that. Looks fantastic.
Yeah and neither of them followed the usual structure of their videos. Kayla too. None of them said these were sponsored by EA but they must have been encouraged or suggested...
That's really cool! And also, I can't believe that Hazel from Dream Home Decorator will finally be fully functional!!!! I would love a mini let's play with her children moving to those houses! Or at least one of the kids, to not leave the farm un-Bigwalleted lol
Oh man I really hope this pack functions correctly, there are so many ideas buzzing in my head. I'd love to add it to my collection based on what we know about it.
There's some pretty iconic row houses where I come from. It's called Jellybean Row in St. John's, Newfoundland if you wanna check it out for more townhouse inspo for the pack!
I love the idea of a bunch of Bigwallets living on the same lot together! I'd be super interested to see how that build would turn out as well, you're always so creative.
I actually love the blue house. The simple color combo, just blue and white with a bit of yellow, makes the patterns seem less busy. And it feels a bit like a French or English country style, but dialed up a bit.
As someone who has had to apartment-hunt in san francisco twice now, you absolutely nailed the floorplans and decorating styles! i know you said you would have wanted them bigger, but trust me every house in this city is a tight squeeze (and accessibility nightmare tbh). it's authentic!
I think you outdid yourself on this built! Never ever shall there be mentioned you only do grayscale. Especially the heavy blue, absolute chef's kiss what you did with that kitchen!
I can really imagine who would live in these: 1-a single mum who ran out of money renovating/repairing after a burst pipe, 2- an eccentric young family maybe the parents are in art/fashion, 3- an older couple who have lived there for many years and have recently updated their decor and have their grandkids to stay often, 4-the high-flying career couple who have expensive taste in holidays, fashion and interiors. Love the builds James, it must have been a lot of work😮😊
Do you think you want to make a tiny house community as a for rent lot? Just a bunch of tiny houses next to each other X) Imagine how many diagonal ones we could get ;P
Units with the "rental residential" type will not be able to simultaneously have the "tiny home" type with its associated bonuses. But in terms of just a collection of tiny houses together on one lot, that will absolutely work.
I absolutely love all of these! They all have their own unique personality, which is always really fun to see. You could almost imagine the kinds of people who live in each one!
I love that you built these! I was born in San Francisco and I can’t tell you how many times I’ve driven by these houses. It’s very sad in a way to watch this too though because the city is just not what it used to be. It’s not the kind of place you want to go hang out at anymore which breaks my heart. Both my parents were raised in San Francisco as well so we have a lot of family history there. Anyway, thank you for the great video! ❤❤❤
I knew someone would be making the Painted Ladies asap after the trailer dropped. 😂 I was not disappointed. A version of this was available for Sims 2 back in the day, and I have it downloaded somewhere still.
Just watched a pixelade video and he made a good point and I think we're starting to see this happen. The sims has been unchallenged for years, so the quality of the games has gone down because we didn't have options before. Now we have new games that can and will challenge the sims and the competition means that the quality of their games has to be worth the price. Were seeing this play out because if you notice, lately we've been getting what we've asked for. They've improved old game play, added new game play, and added stuff we've wanted for years. Cars might be too much to ask for this new ep but I wouldn't be surprised if they were right around the corner given there's at least 3 new life sims coming out within the next few years (this excludes project Renea as I still consider that part of sims and less of a competition).
For Rent idea. It would be cool if Laird started off as a Tenant and worked up to being a landloard. That way it is not breaking the BigWallet tradition of sending Sims off with nothing. Also it would then give us a larger variety of gameplay. Cant wait.
honestly? i would not even think twice if i saw that blue interior in any house in san francisco. it'd fit right in with the city aesthetic so i think it was such a great addition to this build!
As someone from San Francisco who was sooo disappointed by San Sequoia, this new pack and shared houses will be perfect to renovate San Sequoia. Love these builds, James!
I strongly suspect this expansion is going to break the game - or at least produce tons of bugs I can't even imagine how 48 Sims on a lot would work (properly). Looking forward to seeing what chaos this pack introduces. Lovely build, as always!
if i had to guess the apartments are gonna work like in sims 2 where they become rabbitholes and the room looks blank (like in the san myshuno apartments) if you're not on it. I just hope there's no loadscreen if you visit them which seems plausible for sims 4 😅
I love that James can give a real feel to these houses, apartments, townhomes with the random construction clutter and mess that often happens. And it gives those of us downloading them the opportunity to combine our vision with James' creativity, which is very cool. The blue lady needs to have really bold, eccentric, charismatic folk living there.
Ever since the new pack got announced, I couldn’t stop thinking of your duplex/apartments from rags to repayment! They were built perfectly, and I remember the mess of locking all the doors and getting the roommates to work properly. Finally that build can be utilized properly.
This is soooo good! As someone who lives in the Bay Area, I think its so fun how you take inspiration from architecture here (in your last Cities Skylines city as well). I can't wait to see how you use the pack!
Never apologize for fabulousness! I love the blue house and I really appreciate the attempt to try different interior decor styles. I'd love to see this apartment/townhouse series to also experiment more with different decor.
i'm absolutely obsessed with the maximalist blue! it's nice to bave builds that can be customised to your sims but the personality in that house makes me want to do it the other way.
I have to say, that first blue floor tile in the kitchen made me cackle and say "oh my gosh" out loud when you said you had entered your blue era hahaha but I am loving the bold colors and patterns of your blue era! Please keep it for a little while!
I'm thinking the assigned units will most likely blank out once they are lived in like it does in the apartments in the current version. I'm also guessing they'll probably still use the requirement list system like they do for the type of venue. Letting us know what items are required for a unit to be functional.
The fact that James and Deli BOTH posted townhouses back to back today makes me SO happy! I love both of their builds and they're so different some times so me getting to see EIGHT townhouses is great!!!
This reminds me of a lot that was in the sims 2. Same concept and gameplay too. You can choose one house to live in on the lot and the others are bought by others
Honestly, the second floor of the blue house is my favorite! I love the maximalism with all the crazy patterns and Decor to the Max is probably my favorite kit. It's so fun!
I remember back in the day, I used to get frustrated with your choice of interior and color and stuff.. But you've gotten so good at this! I truly enjoy what you do now. You've done a rags to riches, when it comes to sims building! 😆👍 Keep it up, dude!!❤🔥
I remember building row townhouses in Sims 2 when apartment life released, so glad we'll be able to do it in 4 now! I expected it to come with city living but FINALLY we'll be able to!
Have you considered the pink palace from coralline? Deli kind of did that “mansion into apartments” treatment to the Goth house and it’s all I could think of
This build is so good! I love the differences between them and the history of the original homes. I appreciate the education mixed in with entertaining delivery. ❤
I really wish San Francisco still looked like San Sequoia.😞 One design I was thinking of building is a set of townhouses that surround a green. This is common near universities I've worked near. It's really cool because the footprint is small. Also, colorful Venitian apartment buildings and the round-walled ones in Rome. They are very cool. James, will you consider doing a Sydney-style apartment building? BTY, I usually place the fence section manually to avoid that problem with the railings.
This rental pack is exactly the type of pack I need for a large lot I used for a tiny house neighborhood, I made 5 tiny homes on it and i can’t wait to convert it into an actual usable lot for multiple households.
the only thing running through my mind seeing the maximalist one was an extroverted grandma who only wears shades of blue/bright colors raising her three grandchildren
I love how many creators are doing multi family lots right now! Even if the pack is not quite what we expect these builds are amazing. The railing glitch is infuriating though. I haven’t tested it but would placing the fence and then moving it into place work? Or the other option is to use a debug fence.
I just started watching your videos this week and I gotta say, I’m pretty impressed with your decorating and design aesthetics. I’ve played the Sims with a lot of men and they are usually very plain and uninspired. Your builds are so fun!
The overtop one is actually inline with what the inside might have looked like when it was built! That era loved its bold patterns and colors because they were more affordable for the first time due industrialization!
I stayed in a painted lady in SF when I got engaged. The owner lived on the top 2 floors and the entrance level was the rental. The bedroom was in the back down some split level stairs. Behind the garage? I think? It was surprisingly small and cozy. The steepness of the road it was on was crazy!
Just a tip for the brown fences separating the homes. The same fence exists in live edit so you can place it without the block limitations and you wont need to get quite so creative with the landscaping to hide the gap.
James, I live in the SF Bay Area. I pass the Painted Ladies once a week, at least! You did a phenomenal job. These are beautiful. I can't wait to place these in my game. Thank you!
I built painted ladies in this lot a month or so ago but only furnished 1 of 4 , they are on the gallery. I am so sad my computer is in the shop being repaired crossing my fingers I get it back this week! I love how you have done yours this new pack is so exciting
This immediately made me think of the "Gingerbread cottages" or as I remember referring to them as the painted ladies, in Martha Vineyard. Those houses are so beautiful! Absolutely a delight to visit and see in person.
There is a row of houses similar to this in the Sims 2 that you can also live in and rent out. I've played in those houses and I believe Jim PIckens lived there briefly while he had that "toy store" business across the road too.
James! When you’re copying a room you can click shift to copy the whole room with having to click on the room multiple times! That works with everything.
Kind of a missed opportunity to decorate one of them like the Full House Set. Anyone remember that 90's gem? But then again, we have a house for renovating! Let's get to googling pictures of the series!
James, a suggestion.. Would be nice to have a spin off LP or a sub plot in the next one, where one of Hazel and Trenton's children move in to their mum's old house in Del Sol Valley renovate all the houses on the lot and then rent out the other two houses. If I remember correctly the roommates system stopped working when she moved in with the Bigwallets (I maybe wrong here). So, this would be fulfilling one of Hazel's unfulfilled dream.
i adore neutrals but i absolutely love the blue apartment, too! its just fun seeing variety in sims builds and i dont thonk theres ever a shame in switching it up once in a while :D
There is a 40x30 in this neighborhood, on the other side of the park. I love this neighborhood, but do wish we'd got some more, or at least larger lots, especially since they probably knew this pack was being worked on at the time. Beautiful build though, looking forward to what else you have planned with the new tools in mind!
A trailer park, like the one from sims 2, could be really neat to see! With a little communal laundry/office/maintenance building for the new utility stuff coming in the pack.
Honestly, I think I like the blue house best! There's nothing wrong with some color and patterned tiles. It makes it unique, like a family has lived there for many years and made the house their own! (Say, a grandparent who bought the home when they were young and renovated it to be really colorful, and their children and grandchildren kept it that way out of love and admiration for them). Anyway. I like it haha.
I vote having a Bigwallet retirement community, so that there's a place to send the older Bigwallets to all be together once they get older and are no longer the focus of a Let's Play
Could use a big lot and/or a handful of close lots (since there seems to be a limit of 6 households), depending on how many residences are needed
Absolutely love this idea.
I was going to say this! Also for the immortal sims like Column and Brodie so they’ve got pals to hang out with
Omg yes
@@candiedskull9841i forget what its called but the empty world would be perfect for this

That crazy 19 bedroom floor plan house James made a while ago would be a perfect share house for a sleasy landlord at university!!
BLUE HOUSE IS MY FAVORITE!!!
James’ builds are just on another level. Even the maximalist house looked classy.
