  • @sdd1396
    @sdd1396 Год назад +71

    This build does make sense, but was limited by TS4 capabilities at the time of release. It's supposed to be an old fish products processing factory (you can see a sign on the wall at 4:52), abandoned, of course, which is why half of the second floor doesn't have a roof. The original roofing is the one the first floor has, while the second floor has new, modern shingles. Also, it seems to have been renovated maybe by the Sim that lives here, on a limited budget, hence why you can still see some "beams" coming out of the second story into the walls, and different sets of stairs around the building.
    Overall, whoever built this made a pretty decent job, and had a great idea in mind but lacked the tools to execute it properly. Props to them.

    "I'm not sure about the yellow and green", he says. It actually looks really good together, the soft yellows go well with the mint green and he put down the brown carpet that complements the greens and has some yellow tones that pulls the room together. I wouldn't question it if I saw it in an Architectural Digest.

      I've started doing the same thing, one apartment building in each world. Some of them are conversions of Maxis builds, some are renovations of my own builds. It's become a really fun challenge! Some of my worlds have really nicely designed areas that I don't want to mess with, so it provides me with some hard choices. The main downtown area of Oasis Springs has been redeveloped in adobe & Spanish Revival styles. Each build fits just so. I ended up renovating the old Spanish Revival fire house on the far right corner that comes with a 4 slot parking lot at the back. It's perfect for an apartment build. It's part of the business district, but to the side. It's turned out far better than expected.

    I live in an old Victorian built in the early 1800's, it's three stories and each floor has been turned into an apartment; we live in the second floor apartment. It's super awkward. Weird corners, our bedroom is weirdly long, 4 different kinds of flooring throughout. One very long hallway. It's a two bedroom with a "bonus" room -- basically, one room leads right into the other. We use it as an office. We also have 14 stained glass windows in our apartment alone (on one floor). They are cute but they are old and it is cold.
    You can tell the bathroom used to be much larger. We have an old soaker claw foot tub that's adorable and I hate it lol. So when building older houses converted into apartments, feel free to get a little weird, because they are. I live in Vermont, USA, btw.

    Apparently, there’ll be loading screens between apartments, so if that’s the case, the rooms / objects shouldn’t be visible and not cause too many issues. Having said that, A) decorating is cool, but also would be nice to do it according to the Sims’ likes and dislikes (either decorating once they’ve moved in or making Sims specifically for the particular place) and B) it’s “nice” to pretend the Sims who will move in, will have their own decos.

    I lived in a cute tiny studio that had no TV, so having two TV’s in that studio feels funny yet luxurious.

    I LOVE that you built with this for today 😂 I literally sat up in bed last night and wrote down that brindleton bay could be a good rental/ photography studio for the gameplay I’ve been working on 😂😂

    I just rewatched Devon Bumpkin renovating that house. I never live in the port in my game but I'm always startled at that lot.
    What were they thinking?

    The developers need to add under counter bins. This would be especially handy with tiny builds. Every apartment I have been in had a wire bin under the kitchen sink. And now modern builds have sliding bins in the lower cupboards.

    I’ve literally never seen this lot before and I’ve had cats and dogs since it released.

    I think you should keep decorating them fully for the sake of the video and viewers. Also for people who may do rotation play. Gorgeous decorating!

    Lots of people make single or family homes. It would be neat to make more of a roommate centered apartment. Lots of room for creativity there!

    I thought the reason for the different roof bits etc would be because it's called a 'refurb'? Like with a vibe that the previous owners took an existing building and made a lot of alterations to it, but projects like that aren't necessarily gonna overhaul absolutely everything, they might leave some original elements in.

    I recently turned this lot into a restaurant below and a home upstairs, but the restaurant was actually just some seating, a kitchen and toilet, and I sold the food from the Home Chef Hustle stand for at-home sales 😅
