I agree about the skin tones. I know it's literally a re-release of the original versions but if they bothered to update the graphics the LEAST they could've done was added some more skin tones. I understand not adding new hairs because that would require making new meshes, but they couldn't add in some more skin tone textures? I hope they consider adding some in a patch in the future
It's true, but they need to update themselves to how the world is today. Children nowadays are taught about genders, binary, non-binary, and everything in between, they know it better than you and me, race inclusion is also a big thing today. This new release should have included those things to appeal to the new generation, not just us, the grow-ups that played this game back in the day
@@Eventide215 I don’t think that’s an adult problem. Kids should be able to „rebuild“ themselves in such games as well. It teaches them that every skin color is normal and nothing to be ashamed of.

Kayla! You can use smaller blocks to fill in areas normally designated for larger blocks! Like, you can use four small squares to make a tabletop instead of the one large square! This is how you can get 5 of something on a piece that normally only has 3 blocks!
@@Nightfire613 omg thank you so much i kept adding other pieces once i had it built cause i didn’t know you could use different blocks to actually build the item.
one thing i love that they added to mysims kingdom is the free construction mode, you can now clip items through each other and free-place items, kind of like the move objects cheat in the sims! it’s a game changer for building houses, there’s so much more creative freedom with it now ♡
MySims can be very repetitive most of the time (since the general loop is move in a sim and then just keep doing their tasks until it stops) but the furniture customization is so fun specially a little bit into the game where it opens up a lot
These games were my WHOOOLLEEE childhood. I still have the Wii versions and boot up the Wii to play them all the time! I can't WAIT to get my hands on this!
@claireshugart1295 i think bc it's called cozy bundle their gonna go an "action" bundle with agents and the other one that I can't remember but also was more action based
I loved this game as a teen-- thanks for playing it! It's definitely not for everyone; as I recall, it's a bit more open and less task-oriented than MySims Kingdom. However, you're really only limited by the extent of your own creativity and patience. In build mode, you only have to touch the starred areas with a single block to proceed, but the design of the item around those starred spaces is entirely up to you. I remember making mirrors with snakes wrapped around them and full skeletons integrated into furniture. The controls were always frustrating, but if you could overlook that, the game can be really rewarding and hours of fun. Of course, you can't get married and relationships with villagers aren't super important or anything unless you want to 100% blueprints, which is disappointing. I hope this helps!
yeah once you find out these things you get so much more creative freedom! i always find myself going back and remodelling houses etc. in the new kingdom release they introduced free construction mode where you can freely place things so they don’t have to be snapped into a certain position and they can clip through each other now. it’s so much more liberating
Just got it for $34.99 at GameStop physically. I’m so happy. This series was my Animal Crossing. I love the remaster so far, even if there’s a couple of graphical glitches now and then.
I was OBSESSED with both these games when I was a kid. I had the guide books for both of these games and would spend hours playing them trying to 100% them. I do have to agree that MySims Kingdom is way more fun but the original MySims is still really charming and cute.
My Sims was technically speaking my first sims game ever. I have so many fond memories of it and I'm so glad of seeing it coming back now for switch, my inner child is so happy right now!

I just got it for myself yesterday. In my 30s and still love this series, wish they would bring it back. Spent a lot of my childhood playing these games.
I think the spinoffs were always better because there was more of a goal or theme in mind. The main games are such a sandbox and Sims 4 especially is *completely* unbalanced.. so it gets boring to play the actual gameplay.
Hii, hope to see you play more :) so excited for this to finally be on switch. just a lil tip for when you have tasks that require more essences than blocks in the blueprint. You don't have to use the blocks it tells you to use. you can replace big blocks with smaller blocks. As long as the little white stars are covered, you can be as creative as you want with it. rotating blocks too may make the paint look different Once you get further in the game, you have a lot more freedom too and theres a lot of different sims you can move in. making furniture for sims and decorating their houses and being nice to them boosts their friendship with you. even if it wasn't from a task. if you become best friends they give you rewards like blueprints :)
my sister had the kingdom one for her DS and a few years ago, i remembered it so i looked up the soundtrack and got all weepy bc it was so nostalgic 🥹 i’m so glad it’s back
I played my sims as a kid too (before I learned english properly) and just this video is making me want to pick it up again. I also had a lot of struggles with the blueprints not having enough pieces for the requested essences. But I think that you can put two half pieces in places of the whole pieces and also paint any added parts (like the fridge door)
I honestly am over the moon I played my sims for years on the wii and I was gutted when my wii broke 🥰 can’t wait to buyyyy, it was so fun doing up the houses and collecting all the unique items !!
mysims was my favourite and I really enjoyed this game as a kid. But I think you just gotta see it as that, a kids game. I never played the kingdom one so I can't compare but I have spent hours on this unlocking everything. It's so fun to see it come back though. I may be getting it, just because of the nostalgia
A reMAKE means existing software recreated for modern hardware. A reMASTER means a straight port of existing software to look better on modern hardware. Don't expect any quality of life anything from a remaster. It's basically a new coat of paint on an old house, not a whole new house.
So much nostalgia I loved playing all the my sims franchise games my favourite was my sims agents, loved playing my sims kingdom as well was such a big part of my childhood ❤
I ALSO AM SO BAD AT GETTING AROUND 😂 i have no sense of direction in games; it’s terrible. (i don’t have a sense of direction in real life, either, but i find it more difficult to deal with in games. 😂)
you actually can go back in the clothing cycle in this version!! Press b to go back, a to go forward. My mind was blown when I realized this because I grew up with the Wii version where you had to go aaaaaaaaall the way back around every time 😭
omg i was literally just thinking about my sims kingdom the other day, i didn’t know there was a switch release!!! it would’ve been so good with agents, that was my fav ds game
Oh I was obsessed with this game as a kid. There's actually a difference between the PC version and the Wii version, though and that upsets me so much. The PC version had access to The Garden which was an online area so you could play with friends and had more clothing and hair options and more essences. The Wii version didn't :( Also! a helpful tip: you can tell what type of essence grows on which trees from a glance! Tasty essences grow on the classic oak looking trees. Cute essences are on the little bushes. Fun essences look like the Tasty trees but the leaves are yellow. Studious trees look like multi-tiered chessboards. Geeky essences grow on trees that look like gears and are made of metal. Spooky trees have few leaves and a thick trunk with a spooky face on it.
I am so excited about the Cozy Bundle! I have MySims and MySims Kingdom on the Wii, but I am so psyched to be able to play the games on the go on my Nintendo Switch Lite. These games were so much fun to play growing up and honestly I love the cutesy, chibi art style. ❤
I was so surprised about all of the new players honestly! I was 13 when MySims came out, and I played hundreds of hours and this rerelease is everything I could have wanted.
They need to re-release more of the Sims spin offs. If they re-released the Game Boy Advanced Sims 2 and Urbz; Sims in the City, people would buy those off the shelves! (Virtually) One of my favorite Sims games to ever exist is the Sims 2 PSP RPG esque styled game. If you want something different, play some of the console spin offs. They are weird, wacky and fun!
I needed this so bad. This was my childhood, I also played another sims game I remember that was all wild animals??? I would KILL to play that again lol

A reMAKE means existing software recreated for modern hardware. A reMASTER means a straight port of existing software to look better on modern hardware. Don't expect any quality of life anything from a remaster. It's basically a new coat of paint on an old house, not a whole new house.
This game unlocks so many memories omg!
Kayla! This game is so cute and cozy! Loving it!🥰
I was obsessed with this game when i was a child
I remember playing this game on the Wii it was confusing but super cool and fun 4:30
So much nostalgia I loved playing all the my sims franchise games my favourite was my sims agents, loved playing my sims kingdom as well was such a big part of my childhood ❤
This is unlocking deep memories. My sister and I played soooo much of the mysims games.
I drove to see more MySims content ☺️
My nostalgia!!!!! Im getting it and will probably cry the happiest tears while playing
Mysims kingdom was my favorite game as a kid. I was playing it yesterday and it was so hard to get me off 😂
Oh I was obsessed with this game as a kid.
(Virtually)
One of my favorite Sims games to ever exist is the Sims 2 PSP RPG esque styled game. If you want something different, play some of the console spin offs. They are weird, wacky and fun!
mysims on the ds was my first sims game and i’m so hype for this
Eeek!! I loved/love both of these games, it’s so fun watching you play (and hating it 🤣🤣)! I hope we get MySims Agents next!! 💚💚
I remember loving the first MySims a lot, didn’t play a whole lot of Kingdom as a kid though.
I LOVED these games as a kid and remember being disappointed playing real sims for the first time because it felt so different 😂
i LOVED playing mysims on wii. never played kingdom so i‘m extra excited
MY CHILDHOOD, ive been waiting for this my whole life
I wasn't allowed to play the Sims growing up but we played a lot of my sims and some my sims racing on the wii. The intro is so nostalgic aaaah
omg so nostalgic i used to get this every week at blockbusters and have to start each time haha
WOW this was a throwback. I played it on Wii. I sent so much time in CAS on that game. I was so indecisive on the outfit.
I needed this so bad. This was my childhood, I also played another sims game I remember that was all wild animals??? I would KILL to play that again lol
I LOVED Mysims!! I hope they come out with more! Mysims Kingdom is one of my favorite games
