I mean, yes but also beeboxes require quite a bit of atte tion, and if they don't get it, everyone starts getting attacked by bees constantly, and it can get pretty annoying. Endes up getting rid of mine for that reason
You should definitely get a border collie! Or definitely a farm dog breed! I think that really adds that extra layer of realism, plus farm/herding dogs are so cuteeee
This is basically how I play the Sims. I love Eco Lifestyle so much. I live off grid, simple lifestyle & generally in a tiny home. I even did it with a lone servo on the Sulani Island. I realize that sounds dumb, I had an elder make the servo, die & then the servo lived with the ghost & 2 cats.
I never get an outdoor garbage can. I just have an indoor bin/garbage, and play with Reduce & Recycle lot trait. This way, every time my Sims throw stuff away, they can rummage for bits & pieces, as well as upgrade parts. One can fairly quickly get enough to bet going on the fabricator or candle station. Also, I don't sell plants, I have my Sim uproot them. Then they can rummage. It just depends on if you need the cash or the bits & pieces. You can upgrade your chicken coup with a fox alarm on it, as well as locking the gate to keep them out. Before you sell at the garden & grocery stalls, haggle to sell for a higher price. I helps if you chat them up a bit first. Good luck!
I've played a lot like this and a small tip: when you put the burned furniture (that you dumpster dove) on the ground, they become worth of 0 simoleons. So then it's not cheating selling that furniture. Edit: Also, in the beginning of the episode, the NAP "Free Love" was voted, so that's why people are flirting with you.
@@troebeliewoep Using the recycler would also give Simsie money. It's not cheating since it's how the game is designed (and imo feels more earned than getting $4k from a ghost haha), but it's something to consider. If she just wants bits and pieces, she could pick the Reduce and Reuse lot challenge, and choose "sort out recyclables" from her dumpster and/or trashcan.
I respect the hustle, this is the kind of masochistic challenge I'd put myself through. This will inevitably make me want to do this too. This is going to be great! You have to lock the gate or it auto opens and the fox gets in. Make sure you're not selling the water on the bills. Get a fabricator, put the burned furniture in there and you get bits and pieces, selling that burned stuff is exploiting the bug they never fixed.
I did this once when I was feeling out a "commune challenge" (still play with it from time to time) and adding in a pond with fish to the lot in question made a big difference! Allowed me to gather water too. This really makes me want to go back in and play with this part of the game!
I wait until Saturdays and go to the stalls at Finchwick, then haggle. You get the Saturday 10% sales bonus, and a successful haggle will bump that up to 25% bonus for selling your goods
listen, i like simsie's build videos, and i use those builds in my game all the time. i've followed this channel for a long time, and it's genuinely been so much fun seeing her grow as a builder. but there's something special to me about her gameplay videos, they always feel like a treat. basically what i'm saying is i'm really looking forward to this series
Kayla forgetting a setting is so on brand. You can turn your phone off, well more or less can. That should stop a lot of the unwanted calls. (I wonder if she'll ever remember you can also tell vampires to buzz off on the door.)
@@WasabiLuV Open the phone and in the top left IIRC there's a volume button, along with the background and phone case options. It mutes it and turns it the most 'off' you can get. Stops most of the phone calls in game but some are still forced for semi-important reasons.
I believe the cows actually CAN eat prairie grass, and I know you can use it to refill their feed in the barns. I'm not sure if they do eat it off the ground or it just appears that way? Worth testing to be sure!
If you go to the first Finchwick fair of a new save you can get a golden treat and make your chickens golden chickens and then they'll make your plants perfect quality and I think eating something with a golden egg gives you powers (it's been a minute since I did it myself) but I love using the animal treats in this type of gameplay
To kind of balance out the dive for deals you could say that any furniture you get from that has to go be scrapped into bits and pieces. It'd be a good reason to set up a bit of solar/wind power so you could run a recycler.

This is a fun idea, I think it needs a bit more of a challenge though with not buying any stuff at all, you get what you need from the wild. When I do these kinds of things, and L&D kinda helps even more - I usually have them start off they found some run down shack/super old unused house (like, basically some 1800's wooden cottage with like 3 rooms) that someone might actually take shelter in. And because you can't make certain things - but some buyable objects are very much 'hey someone made them' go with those - like the one shower from Outdoor Retreat that's basically some logs and cloth that works off the grid. Which honestly - they need to add a lot more options for some off the grid things to base game, let alone maybe a pack. There needs to be more light choices - preferably ones that don't rack up the industrial score (no pun intended but it kinda burns me up those Sulani torches and the candles from one of the newer kits jack up the industrial score like crazy), like a lot of the ones that are modeled on older types of light need some non-electric versions. A version of the wind turbine that's more home built would be great. Other water collection options like barrels or jugs (which I use that barrel trash can all the time as another 'well they could have built it). And some other things that can take place (that modders have done in cases but not always reliable) like say a typewriter if you want an off the grid person who's writing books, maybe they use a film camera instead of digital (go with instant polaroid type to keep it simple and similar to what's in game), etc. But then again, I also grew up in a house with not a lot of money so we used a lot of older tech if you could even call it that (we had and for a while used the old push mower that you literally push around, no motor or anything), and with how often the apartment we moved to shuts off water we haven't ruled out putting stuff on the balcony to get rain water for when they do - so a lot of this kinda stuff is really familiar to me. I'd say it's probably the #1 thing they need to expand on that's already in game in some form - more off the grid stuff, followed by more occults (at least ones that appeared in previous games and are hinted at here), a hair colouring/dyeing system either in a new ACC slot or something (similar to what Daylife Sims does with their hairs), more/better secret doors ( I mean, as is they have that evil mastermind challenge, witches, and vampires - all people who may want to hide things like say the coffin they sleep in or those of us that want to build some Scooby Doo like villain house), and mirrored versions of a lot of the statues and all cause I hate that if I want to say have two of the staue of the woman from vampires at the front door they both face the same way instead of say each turned so that the outstretched hand points to the door as if to say 'please enter'.

You can also (once she has enough aspiration points) get the marketable items trait, I forget what it's actually called, but the one that makes homemade items worth more money when you sell them.

THANK YOUUU 💚💚
I play this challenge all the time but not by choice, but because I forget about the EcoLifestyle community plans so they cut my power off ❤
I know you generally don't use mods but Littlbowbub has a fireplace you can cook in. Also a sign that leads to rabbit holes where you can forage, hunt & fish (among other things)
You can also (once she has enough aspiration points) get the marketable items trait, I forget what it's actually called, but the one that makes homemade items worth more money when you sell them.
IM SO EXCITED FOR THIS PLAYTHROUGH
