Yes I noticed the fence... in the last 30 seconds of the video
I was LITERALLY dying when you didn’t notice it
Thank god. I was screaming
Wondered if you did xD
James, you said that you would make a treehouse for Rye and a secret entrance from his room to the treehouse. Did you forget? :(
The fact you missed it so much turn into frustration to funny for me ahahahahaha ...but thank god you noticed it 😭😂
If you play this as a house, I think you'll need to put a regular door out somewhere to be set as the front door, or else visiting Sims will wander in and knock on the bathroom door. And if you visit the house, you won't be able to knock. I built a tiny home with an archway for the front door, so I thought I would share.
kind of related, i also have to lock my back door because otherwise they knock on the front door and then walk around the house to watch tv 💀
I think a 1x1 building with a door hidden in a debug tree with a thick trunk would work.
@@ILuvAyeAye That sounds like a really fun idea, I'm imagining a child knocking on the trunk for permission to climb up, so cute!
A fence gate with move objects could be put in the door to use as a door.
You know when you click doors they can be set as front doors right??
Add a grill to avoid the negative buff from microwaved foods 😁 love this build
Yesss! I was thinking this too and if he put it in the square behind the house it would make the back window look a lot less award
I kept wondering why he didn't do this and just make an ourdoor area for both kitchen and dining so the inside would have more space for something else and not need that table.
@@nskyegazer James likes making his sims struggle and work for their upgrades haha, it’s more fun!
@@jessjessjess222 I do like the challenge aspect. But it would look really cute out there :D
@@nskyegazer I agree! Could probably put a few sleeping bags up there too and pretend your sims are stargazing from them and fell asleep lol
I highly doubt that James will ever read this but for everyone else's information:
If you give your Sim a music type to like, and then play that type while they do boring things like reading Herbilism books or doing homework, they will gain a massive fun boost from the music.
Thank you for continuing to make extra content for those of us who can't afford to be members. I appreciate that very much.
me too. living in a country without dollars, is just way too expensive.
Members videos are always extras that I wouldn’t normally create as a regular video, it’s a way to thank those that support the channel.
I really appreciate you enjoying and watching my videos no matter what of course!
@@maarthabethI think you completely missed the point of the person's comment. They are just being grateful to James for the videos :)
@@iaralinharesmotta oops, thank you for pointing that out. 😊
I was about to say this, I'm on a moment where I cannot afford it and I appreciate we still get regular content. I hope sooner than later I'll be able to support the channel becoming a member
You used snowy escape for the sign, so you could add the snowy escape plants back if you wanted.
And I believe he used a Laundry Day sink in the bathroom! I do appreciate him putting in effort to limit packs on certain builds though 😊
The only thing I would recommend adding is a workbench, so you can increase your handiness and then upgrade the bed and appliances. It also would explain where all the “handmade” stuff came from.
It would be cool to see this fully off grid. It would be annoying but cool for story telling
Oooh yeah! It'd be cool to use palm trees and turn it into an off-the-grid island build with a BBQ pit outside! 😊
I love playing off the grid stories. Currently playing one now of a family on the run.
I usually add the generators from Eco Lifestyle when off-the-grid
Most of the time you're out of power anyway so it stays fun
I wish Growing Together added the slide and pole as separate objects that you could attach to builds in addition to having them as upgrades. Then we could slide from the first floor to the second! And make our own playground equipment.
A house with slides inside would be so fun!
I wonder if we can find it in debug. 🤔
I actually think the s-bend tree could have been good. If you used two of them and positioned the house part on the curved bit...
I am pretty sure I’ve used that exact tree for a tree house. I sized it up, and made the house part very high up, it took two ladders to get there. It looked more like a tree blind (like one used for hunting or photography) than a tree house for a child, but it was perfect for my runaway tree.
The most frustrating part - if you were viewing up at it from the ground, the white “ceiling” really stood out. I wish you could customize ceiling colors in the Sims.
@@ILuvAyeAyeyou can now lol
I like how James shows how to put his builds into the game. So in case somebody doesn´t know, they get to see how with one of his builds.
You could always put a grill outside. To avoid the quick meal problem
My mom had a boyfriend who was an architect. And when he was a teenager he had a treehouse with plumbing and electricity, which I imagine looked a lot like this.
The fact he never noticed the one fence piece that was darker wood!!
It was driving me crazy the whole time!! He noticed it in the last 35 seconds of the video.
He did right before the video end ahahahahaha
I noticed and was sure he'd notice sooner!
Yes! I thought for sure he would notice when he placed the telescope. 🔭 He ran his mouse over it several times!
It killed me the WHOLE time 😭😭
I would love to see a luxe glamping version of this. Maybe with an outside tub. Peak airbnb Insta style. Or a converted van. ❤️
If you used a grill and a table, would you need a fridge? And would you avoid the negative moodlets for eating microwave food?
Interesting idea!
A lot of food would go to waste without a fridge though... not that it matters in the Sims!
@@clarebo You can use a sales table outside to store food in. It's a bit annoying since you have to manually drag the food you want to eat out of its inventory (and it takes up quite a bit of space, too), but it keeps food fresh at least as long as a fridge. I've been using the Jungle Adventure table in off-the-grid houses for a while now since it fits the aesthetic really well.
@@clarebowhy wouldn't you use the mini fridge?
So glad I could finally exhale AT THE LAST 30 SECONDS OF THE VID when you acknowledged the dark fence, Semaj 😤😂
I was thinking adding visible plumbing for the toilet could be a cool addition. For that you could use the vertical pipe from the industrial loft kit by placing it below the toilet. If there's not real plumbing, maybe you could add a compost pile under the treehouse around the bathroom area (and a trash plant for the unpleasant aroma, if you wish to add extra challenge to living in a treehouse).
You can actually upload it as a room without having to remove the walls. This is a trick builders use to upload apartments. You remove the wall, then rebuild the missing piece elsewhere and move it back into place. That way the room doesn't get auto completed and you can trick the game into viewing it as a single room.
Ahh, that's brilliant for apartments.. I don't think it would have worked for this build though since part of it is outside the lighting would be messed up.
I always just delete the wall behind each door. That way, the door stays and it's easiest to find which walls to replace, and they are blank anyways so just clone the wallpaper next to it!!!
You can actually use a mini fridge for cooking, you don't need a full-size fridge :)
Watch carefully! He did use a mini fridge.
He knows, that wouldn't have made any difference to the size of the kitchen though
@@samanthakate2117 I think it would, because when you don't put anything on top of the mini fridge, then your Sims can use it for chopping and you don't need a counter. I didn't use it that way for a while, but I guess it was like that.
@@Cvrcik This is how I have to use it irl 😬
A cozy seating area underneath please! 😁 more planting boxes too can go underneath
Really like you build videos, I learn so much about things I didn't even realize you could do. Was blown away the other day when I watched you free place items off of the grid, mind-blowing. Had to go back and adjust some builds after learning that trick.
I am TOTALLY getting this for both.
I have plans for the complete home lot.
Im thinking off the grid, maybe cloning the park lot in cottage living and plopping this there as a home lot. Planting all the plants from the game there so they grow "organically"
Nope, you know what?... im firing up the game right now.
Such an awesome idea, loved this build 🙌🏼
Love it! 🌴🏠
I HATE how certain things place into walls (like he noticed with the stove). That always irritated me so much!
It’s the reason I never place appliances near the walls! Always a counter between the wall and the stove!
I'm always pulling doors away from the edge for the same reason. The door jams disappear.
@@shesthebethest Same, but even the counters go into the wall! I just don't understand why these just don't place against the wall. Like how does putting it into a wall make any darn sense?!
@@Miluielle Yes, same! Definitely another pet peeve of mine!
@@HeyItsAmyZing It's because the walls take a little bit of the tile space, thus it cuts a piece of furniture visibly when the walls are up. If the furniture didn't have that little part, you wouldn't be able to put them next to each other without problems, as they would be too short to connect*. Pretty easy to understand, really (though sometimes a bit annoying to see).
I do love the treehouse object, but agree that it's lacking in a few areas. Thanks for the build, James! Love it!
Rye, congratulations, you are back in the treehouse!
One of the super cool thing about TOOL is that you can Shift+T to open the mod, click on the tree so it's highlighted green, then click "scale" in the menu, and enter any value you want to size it up or down. That way you could make the smaller tree a tiny bit bigger than it is sized down but still smaller than the big tree. If that makes sense? Super cool to see you using TOOL! I swear it's worth it just to be able to sort the kits lol
20th Century Plumbob has replacements for ceiling tiles. Yes, it will be for all ceilings, but at least its not the plain bright white color. You can choose what the ceiling looks like.
They also have great map replacements.
I actually have a treehouse build with the "S" tree. I like that one a lot.
21:10 that's my struggle when downloading houses from the gallery, the decorations are great but I hate when they get in the way of how I view the lot 😭
This is such a cool build! Will you continue building this in the lets play so that Rye can go from the treehouse to the attic? I remember one of the videos you mentioning something about a walkway!
Looks awesome! Personally, I'd have added a little fireplace but that's just because I like the aesthetics of little fireplaces in tiny houses =)
Love this! If you end up using this for Rye, please consider giving him a barbeque grill so that he can make thing other than microwaveable meals. Our king deserves some good food every now and then.
I think Rye would have access to "real meals" through the fridge as they share an inventory
I would like a single size murphy bed not just a double size. Also give them a counter and grill outside that way you can keep the small kitchenette inside.
Dinning could have totally gone on the balcony too. Then you get the free floor space in the treehouse.
I love treehouses. I built mine using 2 of the s-shaped trees and place the house in the middle.
I love how you talk to yourself and you ask us questions, and I’m screaming NO NO NO CHANGE IT BACK!!
Yes! "WE are building this" 😄
great build i was looking forward to it since you mentioned it a while back! I would def add a grill and fairylights ;D
Yeah! I was picturing fairylights in the big window! 😍
Thank you for always thinking outside the box. You inspire my game play.
I was literally searching a video on his channel to watch only to find out a new video is uploaded!
Yes me too!
I need a treehouse cabin for Granite Falls now lol
you could put a small bbq on the outside balcony to have proper meals haha and you can also store those in the fridge
While I like the tiny house fibe you didn't have to limit your outside to skill building items only. On the deck you could have used counters to make it have a full "kitchen" on the lot so the sim doesn't tire of microwave meals or put the dining outside. Overall an awesome build as always. Love your videos and hope you enjoy your day 😊
Your videos always inspire me when I'm in a bit of a sims rut. Gonna try something like this but fully off the grid
love this!! It would be a cool idea to add the debug growing together slide, I don’t know if it’s functional though
This was so fun. And really aestheticly pleasing build, frankly. :)
if you put a column inside the tree and then maybe put spandrels it could look like supports for the tree
This is not a tree house, it's a tree home
James! You now have to try to make a tree house chicken coop because of the sized down treehouse. 😂
(llamaboz) the question from the beginning of time that continues though the ages and through every sims chat "is fishing fun?"
Last time my sim was fishing a lot I noticed that at certain level it IS fun 😂
And there I was thinkng the reason why debug trees specifically are needed for the build would be the fact that your Sims will be able to walk through them unlike real trees so it won't interfere with the functionality of the house. And James is like: "We need a debug tree for this because real trees are ugly in there, lol."
Use move objects to merge the garden planter box into the tree trunk holes to make the deck look as it it hugs the tree closer, just an idea since you mentioned you wish it actually attached to the trees. 😎
Also, you could move the dining table to the deck to give you more internal space.
I'd add a grill (to not be stuck with only quick/microwave meals) and a worktable/flower arranging table for skills/activities to the deck. This is a great playable house!
Such a cool design. Once I get a working pc/laptop again, definitely getting this. Though I'd prolly try to do an outdoor kitchen with some type of cover to add more space on the inside.
you can make an (almost) fully functional kitchen with a fridge and one counter by putting a DHD range on the counter then adding a dishwasher underneath it. you need to use moveobjects but sims will still use the counter and the range without problems. the only downside is that you can't make things that require an oven
If tool mod isn’t acting up, you could add additional diagonal supports underneath, it has a lot of potential I think, but again idk how annoying toolmod is to actually use ahaha
I like this build as a tiny home. I'd use it that way.
I love the vibes of this build. I would totally stay here.
James saying "super thicc bois" was NOT in my today's bingo lol
Funny enough I originally found your channel 5/6 years ago because of the Jan 2, 2015 "The Sims 4 House Building - Treehouse" video popping up in my search results. The build was genius and entertaining, loved all your content since.
Do not worry ab using random objects. It makes the builds more unique!! Even tho u are amazing even w base game only but I personally love seeing different objects then what most people use
I instantly thought of the treehouse build from 8 years ago. I still remember watching it back then lol
the stove goes into the wall yes it's been bothering me since Sims 2. it's the same with counters and washing machine/dryer... can't believe u just now noticed 😭
Such a fun build and could see so many storyline a made from this. Great job as always and thanks for sharing your talent which inspired all those around you
I think the mini fridge works as a counter and you can use just a fridge and stove
you can place there stuu like cofee machie, icrowave but theey deny to cut on it-tried with salads and sim refused-said no counter
@@kasiabunny8708 damn
You could have a kitchen on the "balcony" with a fridge inside. In an old Soviet "dacha" you often see a kitchen outdoors.
the toaster oven would’ve been nice to stack on top of the mini fridge as well! idk if you need a counter for it though 🤔
I don’t know if there are food items that you can cook in an over without first mixing on a counter….I will have to check that sometime!
Other good places for this tree house could be in any of the wooded worlds or even at a beach area. A beach tree house could be built near the water and use palm trees for support. And have two ladders. One to go into the water and the other to land.
I was wondering if you could put swings under the second support area, that could look super cool!
You could put a grill outside, this way they can "cook" food and not get annoyed by the microwavable stuff
I really like this, too bad I don't have all the pack.
One Major flaw though - There are no woohoo spots!
(I assume it's for Rye, so I kinda expected treehouse babies 😆)
15:30 Everything goes into the wall when it's supposed to potentially connect to a second part 😆 Stoves, counters, islands, cabinets, bars, nearly all modular items from DHD... I'm surprised people didn't notice 😆
I think I know why I keep never being satisfied with the houses I build... its the dang "big objects blocking the view". It literally just hit me 😅 Will try to keep this in mind!!❤
I LOVE it, this is what I was hoping for when treehouses came to the game!
The one off color fence is killing me, and a grill on the deck would be a great addition.
I am haunted by the image of someone throwing themselves/getting thrown onto that couch and flying straight out of the window 🤣
Nooo the sign is from snowy escape you could have kept that plant 😆
You always keep things interesting, that's for sure! I'm enjoying this even though I haven't played Sims for weeks now
I love this build 👏👏 great job
You did an amazing job, can’t wait to download it from the gallery.
Question. Dr. Gluon's community is called the Glubees right? So what are James Turner's called? Turnips?
Yes please
That's an amazing suggestion 👌
Nice treehouse! Might as well make one too.
I spent 22 minutes staring at that one piece of fence waiting for you to fix it and you never did. It was killing me, man.
Ive been waiting for a treehouse build for so long!
i liked the sneak peak of the new reno for the backyard too 🫣❣️
Are you talking about the end? That’s the default house that comes in San Sequoia haha
@@JamesTurnerYT 🥴🥴🥴 hahaha ooops ! i haven’t played the pack/clearly wasn’t paying attention 😅
How creative! Love this build
You should make a fire watch tower!! Terrain, ladders and off the grid!
There is bunk beds that come with a desk underneath. And a couch.
Love this! As usual :) If you built a wall around the whole build, would that have made it a room? Then you could just delete the external walls. Or would that not work because it's technically 2 floors?
You need to add a BBQ so you have another option of cooking
I need this version 😆 you could have a second one on the lot for skill building
I love this whole build but the best part is learning how to add ceilings. I've been just building a room on top and deleting it. 😬
not me screaming "THE FENCEEEE" almost the whole video
I remember when you built a treehouse without the new packs and it still was really cool but love how this one turned out! 😁 I think what would be cool is to make an “abandoned house” with a treehouse and use the treehouse for a rags to riches or runaway teen challenge 😁
I remember seeing the treehouse and having high hopes that it would have faux flooring and walls that could be changed in build mode and would obey the wall toggles. When i heard it was customizable i thought it would be more complex than some upgrades and slots.
Obviously my hopes were too high but would be a cool mod idea.
Also yeah it would be weird because you would lose a lot of space and it would somehow have to not be affected by terrain height and stuff but a boy can dream.
That fence! I was sitting here internally screaming waiting for him to notice and change it, and then he shared it 😮💨
Ahh, yes--I've always wanted a tree house growing up! Now I can do it in Sims instead! 😂 It's so cute!
the internal scream with the one fence being a wrong color just after James changed the rest for the rest of the video. But now laughing that everyone who now downlodes can find this easter egg
You should’ve added a grill outside! It fixes the issue of all quick meals
