the room is cute and chaotic in a way that feels like a real teenager decorated it but .. its not cassie ... its a very modern alt teenager bedroom and cassie is not that, shes a black and hot pink 2010's "goth" teen

The build is very good but it doesn’t give off cassandra goth vibes. the light purple doesn’t fit cassie alot it definitely would be better if the room was black and hot pink/magenta not light purple, light pink and black

I agree but even if it was like light pink and black it would look better. The light pink bed with the skulls on it would have been great.
This is a really cute standalone room, but I'm not sure it makes a lot of sense for Cassandra. I think if you'd kept the walls dark, and retained more of the gothic victorian furniture instead of modernising it, it would've suited her more.

I honestly don't think they mind the criticism. I mean, they seem to accept it with grace, overall. When they finally realized how hated their builds were, they pretty much stopped doing them, and began bringing in talented simmers who play the game a lot to do it for them. So builds have only increased in quality since the base game and a lot of the packs released.
Yeah it was just funny to me 🤣. But I’m really happy that they listened to our community and realized how it wasn’t good and unfair that they were slacking with the builds like that.@@jcage1022

Def agree Cassie deserves a makeover… but sucking the Goth out of the Goth family feels so wrong to me. I think the bedroom turned out nice, but it doesn’t feel like Cassie’s anymore. It went from pink to purple & from having a distinct mood to a generic bubblegum teen bedroom.
I’d love to see you redo the Goth’s house but keep the house the same size and just reallocate the space better. Also, Alexander also always seems to get the short end of the stick… shoved up in the attic like an afterthought.

It's not dark enough! The Goth family is supposedly a reference to the Addams Family and Cassandra is meant to be the Wednesday analog. There should have been more use of Vampires, Paranormal Stuff, and just anything old looking and "weird". This is too bright and cheery. Its cute, and a good room, but does not fit Cassie's vibe AT ALL!
If Cassie is supposed to be like Wednesday, then the Sims team did a terrible job honestly. Cassie feels way too preppy with her clothes to be in the Addams Family.

White walls for Cassandra goth feels like a crime. And the curtains don’t match the bed at all tbh, teal and blue are very different colors. The room just needs to be darker, weirder, and less modern. Put some candles in there, make the piano acoustic, take out the string lights and glitter, make it, you know, GOTH
The final product is much brighter than I had imagined. I feel like you put too much of what you wanted and not enough of what a Goth would've wanted. It's a very cute room, all of your builds are super cute, but you got lost in the mismatched swatched and brighter colours again. You made her favorote colours black and hot pink, then you turned the bedroom into a purple and white paradise with black accents. And a nightlight? For a teen? That's the bit that lost me the most, the night light and getting rid of the mess. If you redo this challenge, I want you to make the walls all black and go from there. Maybe that'll help put you in the gothic mood. Anyways 10/10 build, you definitely overthink too much about the little things, but it still looks so great in the end.
When Simsie added a walking closet bc the room was too big for her then said the couch didn't fit because the wasn't enough room LMAO😭btw i think when she said some stuff were "too much" Simsie didn't think through the fact that Cassie is rich, a goth and a teenager, everything would be the opposite of too much

Yes it definitely looks more like a teenager’s room and lived in with more personality, but I feel that this really doesn’t suit Cassie… she lost her goth look and it looks like a room for someone else. Like the fairylights is probably on the extreme opposite end of “goth” :( … which I think defeats the purpose of this video, renovating her room
I was waiting for the moment where the room became more of her style and skipped the video to the end.. only to see the bedroom is not gonna change. Good effort but you can do better Simsie!

In Sims 1, Mortimer's parents had two cats! They weren't black though, they were Siamese. In my games I always make sure the Goths have a cat or two in honor of that.
Oh yes! I played with them a lot, actually. I only remember that both cats in the german Version had really really horrible old people names and that the male Siamese was called Heribert. I have forgotten what the female Siameses cat was called, though. Sadly the german name isn't on the Sims Wiki or ....anywhere, actually
In my personal save file I gave the Goths two black cats- their names are Poe and Shelley!

I usually love your builds but this one isn't it. What translates from black and hot pink to pastels? Also she's got the gloomy trait too it just doesn't feel like it works at all. It'd be a nice room if it wasn't hers though. No shade but it does kinda feel like a parent redecorating a kids room without permission LOL
I feel like there was a good trajectory for pastel goth, but we lost our way somewhere during the process.
And instead we landed in generic pastel prep
I feel like the Goths went to family counseling and Cassie was allowed to re decorate outside of the Goth aesthetic

I love your builds, Kayla, but sometimes I feel like because you decorate with blank walls, it maybe kinda biases you towards lighter wall colours... Loved the end results but I think the darker wallpaper would've looked cooler, especially with the LED lights...

I kinda want simsie to do a big, grand house with a few important rules
1: walls must be medium or tall height, and it's on a 64×64 lot. This is a grand mansion we're talking about, not a cottage or suburban
2: building off the first rule, bedrooms have to be at least as big as Cassandra's. This is a rich person house, they should have large bedrooms.
3: aside from the bedrooms, it can't be particularly cosy.
Basically i want to see her get out of her comfort zone like that

Such as, renovate each room based on the room's owner personality, add what's on their hobby, and such. And for the shared space like living, dining, kitchen you can make it as a combined of the goth family's personalities.

I redesigned her room in my world (she's dating my sim Naomi) and I made sure to reach heavy into the alt style. I made her very clearly a y2k alt girlie to juxtapose her bubblegum girlfriend

It does, but all the renos ive seen take away the Victorian Goth asthetic from it. I'd rather the house stayed the same and keep that then have the asthetic taken away for the sake of an "updated" house

I think the curtains and walls should be darker to fit the Goth name better, but i overall like the room more. It looks more like a teens room, maybe Cassie is having a bit of a moment and is experimenting with a different aesthetic!

As a digital artist who's very particular about colors, I always go insane when Kayla starts describing what she sees. I wonder what her screen calibration is. "Pastel purple" "nice teal color" girl, those are just white with textures/shading on them. 😭

I gave up on alt placing clutter on shelves because in gameplay the most of the stuff doesn't disappear and is in the way. So annoying.

i mean, for good reason of course. room does NOT feel like something for cassie goth and rather feels like another typical simsie build, and i'm not saying that's a bad thing! i love simsie's builds! but if this is a challenge build for a sim with lore and everything i think it'd be best to stick to that.

as a goth person, i feel like this doesn’t do justice.. the entire style revolves around dark colors (especially black obviously), so all of the pastels and light colors are painful for the Goth family 😭

I like the whole concept BUT I HATE THESE CURTAINS. This color doesnt match anything there. And I think first two options for wallpaper with dark grey is much better

I have to be honest I hated the makeover they gave the goths except for Cassie. I feel like she’s the only one they did well on. (compared to the Calientes makeover, which I think they nailed.) I really wish they had just made over their house instead. Also, maybe it’s just me but I love the tall walls in this house I think it shows that it’s like an old house and they have money lol.
