    I feel like it would make a lot of sense to have Lady’s bedroom be that whole downstairs area with a more generous ensuite (instead of dividing it into two bedrooms) and then have the guest space upstairs since we don’t care how much time the guests spend going up and down the stairs :) love the new ranch!

      Yeah! Or someone else suggested have the kids upstairs!

      Exactly, I miss the colors of the old guest house section. This large house's interior palette is so dark cave.

      Yes I love this idea. The upstairs area could even have that more modern feel that the guest house had which looked so good with the ranch furniture imo. And Lady would also have a respectable master bedroom WHICH SHE EARNED!!!

    Feedback:
    - Put a bar in the dining room so that Lady can enjoy her freshly brewed nectar
    - Decorate using the nectar making items: barrels, crates etc.
    - Turn the upstairs area into guest rooms and put Lady’s bedroom downstairs instead
    - Rooms to fill up a huge house: pantry, laundry room, office, gym, sauna, games room, walking-in wardrobes
    - Add more landscaping: most farms have a “corner of shame” where old tires and parts from broken vehicles and tractors are dumped, add lots of debug grass for a more natural feel

    I would really like to see a bigger pond/lake outside with ducks and swans for more animals on ranch, even though you can't interact with them, previous was nice and it gave really cool vibes. And scatter some fireflies and dragonflies throughout the ranch. Also, I agree with others that you should make a downstairs big master bedroom from those two rooms, and you should put two or three rooms upstairs for future kids and guests. Hope you will read this.😊😊

      I agree with this! If he doesn't want to redo it much just make her room bigger for the infant to come and actually raise the heir. I know the next expansion is soon but he could get the partner to help with the baby while he waits for competitions to end? Also they can help around the ranch I guess!

      Agree! It's increasingly normal to have the master bedroom downstairs in these big houses and all the other bedrooms upstairs. It would be nice to have a big master suite and a nice bathroom for lady downstairs, since she's had the worst furniture/decoration up to this point.

    Agree with others saying switch the bedrooms - then, the bathroom won't feel as crowded either! I really like the little sitting area in the dining room, but originally I was thinking a bar facing the living room would be nice and also doesn't disrupt the walking flow. Or, you could put a staircase going downstairs against the window, with a bar facing the dining table!

    James - with this video I can officially say I am caught up on the entirety of the Bigwallet series. I first started watching you around the cottage living playthrough and quickly felt left out because I didn't know all the references, the family tree, and other characters. So I went back and started from the very beginning. 2 and a half years later, here I am. And I've watched it all - every building video (from the original art warehouse-turned club-turned museum-turned restaurant to the vet clinic, lady bigwallet IIs movie studio, and on). I watched all the Thorne Bailey and Carol Alto I/II spinoff series' and pretty much everything in between!! So excited to finally be able to watch your stuff as it comes out...please keep it coming. Your videos get me through my very boring work-from-home days ❤
    Much love from California.

  • @arjones523
    @arjones523 10 месяцев назад +18

    Love this ranch house!
    Three things: make a 1st level master for Lady and turn the top into a two bedroom 1 bath guest area. I love the idea of making a luxurious wine cellar using all the decorations and if you load it with nectar racks you will go through your funds and have to keep earning.
    Lastly: I think you should rearrange the ranch layout after renovating the barn. Maybe move the cow and llama to the back and have the horse training at the front since you have champion horses. Also maybe including a greenhouse on the ranch house? (Behind the workshop) So you don’t have that garden space outside anymore and just simplify it to nectar ingredients since you don’t have the lot challenges anymore. That way you can just make a two pens. One for the cottage living animals and one for the ranch animals.

    • @berg_ahorn
      @berg_ahorn 10 месяцев назад +1

    You can do the thick roof trims if you do the roof in multiple pieces. The one closest to the walls needs the thin trim and the one closest to the edge needs the thick trim. You still have to add something on the sides to cover the thick trim, but it's a lot less to cover. To get the pitches similar, you have to use alt drag for the slope and make them overlap. It's really hard to describe with words, lol.

    I also think it would be nice to just bulldoze the rest of the lot and re-build the garden and stables to match everything more and maybe move around the main building
    a nice vineyard connected to the bar/necatr and the outside seating area for event space would be nice
    and then maybe smaller stables with the goats and sheep combined and a little patio area for them to roam outside and then maybe also combine the stables with a living quarter for the ranch hands
    and then just a meadow type area for the horses and the training stuff (and let's maybe get rid of the cow and lama haha and keep the chickens by the garden)

Also I would get rid of the second bedroom downstairs and move the bathroom slightly over so you can extend it too. These are my favorite builds, the ones based on real houses. Not only to build but to watch someone build, especially when the real life interior is pretty unknown or the real life layout doesn't fit the grid or work in a way that is easy for the sims to navigate. The front reminds me of a Bass Pro Shops or L.L. Bean with the wood detailing and big windows. I like the layout you came up with but there are some great suggestions in the comments too!

    Lady's suite should be where the two downstairs bedrooms are with a big suite bathroom. If this is where she plans to live her whole life, she will want to "age in place" and not have to go up and down the stairs as she gets older. The guest space should be all upstairs. You can easily fit two bedrooms and a bathroom up there if not more. Also she should have a proper office, she's a big business women with lots of nectar to sell.
    Also, Would be cute if the fireplaces were on a 1 unit tall platform.

    Ppl are already saying, but definitely make the upstairs a guest “house”. Also, I think maybeeeeee we can have a little color on the walls? Like the living room rug (that you mentioned maybe getting rid of lol) allows for some soft blues or sage green colors? Or even just a little warmer neutral other than white? Just a thought. The white looks clean but when I think of a western or southwest home I think of using a lot of colors from nature.
    Also also. Maybe the string lights can be used on the outer parameter of the outdoor area you’ve got?

    I'm eager to see more of the "ranch party" aspect with the line dancing, etc. Initially, I thought that would be in the "garage" space in this build, but if you're adding a whole cellar, then it could easily be down there.

  • @itribbit
    @itribbit 10 месяцев назад +1

    first time commenter, but here's some possible things you could do to the ranch house, James!
    - try the green swatch on the curtains in the dining area. it may balance out more of the orange/brown tones of all the wood.
    - you could maybe move the big plant by the arm chairs in the dining area. it may work where you wanted a tall plant along the wall. (pot may get in the way though!)
    - for the outside of the house, maybe try out that gray horse ranch brick. would be a nice tie-in to the fireplaces inside, since you used it there!
    - you could change the direction of the bed upstairs and go a little smaller with the platform in that area! it definitely would break the space up like you want, and make the room even more interesting! hopefully the roof cooperates!
    - the outdoor ranch bathroom stalls could be moved to where the dumpster is on that side of the house. not sure if you can change the swatch, but it could look interesting, like it was built as part of it! also, it's outside the fence, so relocation would probably be appreciated by future users lol. and Lady will appreciate them not constantly coming into her house, esp on ranch days!
    - you should swap the counters + sink with the kitchen bathroom with the guest bath! it'll make the guest bathroom look nicer, but your old fixture would probably work better for space/layout of the kitchen bath!
    - you should utilize the space under the guest room awning for something! not sure what, but you could maybe move the wood furniture you placed outside there for a small R&R area for guests. maybe place some hedges or something sectional where they can kind of get some privacy and that area isn't communal, lol.
    - you mentioned a while ago about possibly having a greenhouse for Lady, especially for growing ingredients for nectar making. maybe there could be a smaller greenhouse added on somewhere on the ranch house? maybe along the back of the garage area in some way since you were thinking about Lady nectar making there. or, you could redo the little 2nd housing area for the 2nd ranch hand as a greenhouse, since it's across from the side door into that space! iirc you intended Lady to mostly earn funds from grape nectar, so having grapes + having a constant supply of specialty ingredients would be great! :)
    - obviously you aren't done + haven't gotten to the rest of the lot, but you could swap the building arrangement around the ranch house. while a lot, you could place the barn + stables + the cow / alpaca area to the back area of the lot. possibly, the greenhouse can be combined with / can downsize some of your garden near that front corner where the cow / alpaca are now, and that could be a nice entryway to go through to get to the back part of the ranch (esp for ranch days!), and your goats can be placed in that area and save you some space! it'll open a good portion of the back of your lot to where you can place more of your horse items, like barrels and jumping, as well! :)
    once again, great vid! can't wait to see the finished product and for Lady to continue on with her new ranch! :)

    Ideas for cluttering: some half-strewn about crafts or other projects. Lady's obviously very busy taking care of herself, the farm, the animals, and the nectar, but it makes sense that she would enjoy a creative hobby like piano, painting, or crosstitching every now and again but lose the time to finish and strew some of the materials about: a blank cross-stitch on random tables, a stack of blank canvases next to the used easel, or a half-done woodworking project next to some boxes or barrels.

    Would love to see some of the lighter color palette from the old guest house worked into this home- it’s looking a little dark rn imo. One suggestion is using the white and brown stripped “cabin” wallpaper in the big living room, rather than just dark wood. Would also suggest adding in a bar to the living room! I would also love to see you make a communal ranch hand building, rather than separate cabins. The ranch is looking great! Excited to see what you do next!

    I agree with having the guest room being only in the upstairs area, with their own bathroom, so that Lady gets a big master bedroom with her on suite bathroom. Later in game the upstairs can be turned in a kids space!
    Also love love love the idea of having the barn only for the ranch hands and a separate space for nectar making in the workshop space + huge cellar with a bar and crates and stuff
    I'm so exited for Lady getting the big fancy modern ranch she deserves!

    You could make guestrooms/future kids rooms upstairs, and extend Lady’s bedroom a few tiles out to make it bigger - making that whole section of the house her private quarters! I’m also curious about turning the entire house 90˚, having the workshop-room facing the barn instead🤔 That would give more room for the pond-hangout space and also allowing the horses to enjoy the pond.
    Love your vids as always James!

    The focus on communal spaces suits Lady. She grew up in a big family and the ranch is always bustling with visitors and staff.
    That said, the guest area upstairs is massive. If you split that into two rooms you could have one big bedroom downstairs or at least a dedicated office space

    Getting caught up with this series...and loving this ranch so far. I am not done with the video, but you just mentioned washing dishes in the bathroom. Scumbumbo has a mod called "Don't Wash Dishes Where You Angry Poop" and you can disable dishwashing anywhere you don't want them to wash them. There's also a food prep version.

    The house is gorgeous James, excellent job as always! I think adding a vinyard would be awesome, as well as a big fancy cellar for the nectar as you mentioned. and as another commenter said, it would be nice to have a horse pen/training area at the front of the lot, and move the cow and llama to the back, since the ranch is famous for its championship horses. would also love a tiny little house/hut for the sheep and goats to have some indoor space

    I agree with the upstairs guest and kids room. And expand Lady’s room downstairs. Give her a nice bathroom with a tub to relax. Make the pond slightly bigger and stock with fish so she and guests or kids can go fishing. Maybe add ducks and dragon flies then some fireflies by the picnic area! On the table by the book nook area add maybe some knitting or cross stitch! Lady definitely needs a nectar saloon 😆

  • @shutterbug8860

    A lower hanging light above the dining table would look better because it’s on a lower platform height than the kitchen. For the front area, some flowers, shrubs and a nice hedge next to the ranch sign would tie it together. I would even move the ranch sign back slightly and have a pathway at the front that splits in two, one goes left to the house and the other goes to the ranch sign on a slight angle to lead up to the gateway. Then the pond could be expanded across the front with more landscaping. Out the back, a set of stairs coming from the balcony into the enclosed area would be useful. The pets can use it but the horses and other farm animals can’t so there could be an upstairs area for Hugo & Bobie if they wanna sleep inside.

  • @hakudoushinumbernine

    The bathroom with the show/tub combo.
    Move the toilet and the sink on the opposite wall of the tub. It opens the room more for if there ars any repairs, the salvage parts will appear there rather than materializing in other parts of the house or in the sim's inventory.
    And you dont always have to have the wall-mounted toilet roll. You can out rolls on the back of the toilet. Irl, its mostly done because some positions of the toilet roll are absolutely ridiculous. But also, in the sims it prevents pathing issues.
    The toilet rolls also take up a slot for sims to potentially put things in those spaces

    As a coloradan I was all "I swear I've seen this house" and I sure have! Evergreen has some crazy huge mansion style houses and was in I think a house and garden or some such type magazine. There's one that literally overhangs on a cliff and looks wild from the cliffside.
    We've got a few rich people winter homes and stuff out here, and they really play with the architecture. In fact right near my own home a rich person moved and built their house INTO the side of the valley, so that when you're driving up the road you can see just a Wall of windows. Pretty interesting stuff.

    I agree with others who have said Lady deserves a big room with an in-suite bathroom. Also since you are moving the “Nectar” room you can change the Barn into a bunkhouse for both the ranch hands and then the other cabin can become the guest house.
    As for the upstairs of the main house, that can be an extra guest place until she has kids then it can be their room(s). Ether that or it could be a display room for all the trophies from all the horse competitions.

    Super cool build! I suggest you move the family/guest bathroom to where Lady's desk currently is in the main living space and then you can have two larger guests' (or possibly kids') rooms in that space on the ground floor like you originally planned :))

    12:35 maybe you could bring that part forward one tile more? i feel like it would look like better with that roof over there
    39:12 you could place a half wall there and place a chimneys inside the half wall, so it kinda would look like built-in

    Loving the new house!! I agree with all the others saying that Lady’s bedroom should be the whole downstairs room area you broke up into the two bedrooms. That way the guests can stay upstairs and since the upstairs is so large, you could even do a mini kitchen etc as well for them to use while staying. I’m loving this series, I had zero interest in the actual pack but between yours and Deli’s Let’s Plays looking so fun, my daughter and I now own this pack!! Looking forward to seeing the new Barn layout too!!

  • @laurengarrison6965
    @laurengarrison6965 10 месяцев назад

    Literally laughed when James made sure to add the scouting trophies and a childhood macaroni picture but not the gold horse show awards Lady has spent her life working towards.
    I agree that lady should have a master suite downstairs and then make the upstairs 2 bedroom/1 bathroom level for guests/kids.
    The dining area should have a bar area/bar cart with the sitting area to show off Lady’s award winning nectar.
    I think it would be nice to move the llama and cow to the back of the lot. Perhaps remove the red barn entirely and build a 2nd ranch hand shack for Agatha.
    Lastly, more a nitpick than anything but the entrance and kitchen area would definitely have stone or tile. It’s a high traffic area for a working ranch, hard wood would be destroyed. I think the step down into the dining room transitioning into hardwood would make perfect sense.
    Really loved this build. 10/10

    The debug fairy lights from Cottage Living might go nice in that under cover eating area. It's also a really cool layout and look, but super dark. The kitchen cabinets being one of the color swatches like green might be nice as a contrast (also absolutely agree about bringing some plants in, the green would make a huge difference). I really liked the windows going from the top level to the bottom level, that brought so much light in!

    The bathroom in the kitchen space would be better in the back of the living room. You can merge the desk space with the library corner. Maybe add a walk-in pantry or bar area in the kitchen. Also, the entrance may look better, leading into the living room and adding a small mud room. Switch Lady's large bedroom to downstairs and place guests' rooms upstairs.

    I don’t know the status of all the crops but I’d LOVE to see a Golden Chicken in this series. I had no idea that they upgrade your crops to “perfect” in the most epic way possible. 😁 I think she’d really add to the chaotic vibes of the ranch.

    Love that Lady’s finally getting the beautiful ranch house she deserves! I love all the wood - the house reminds me of my grandparents’ house.
    I think you should make the whole upstairs the guest space, then open the two downstairs bedrooms into one large one for Lady. Keep guests somewhat separate, but Lady needs more space!
    Can’t say I’m a fan of that metal roof though. Is that inspired by the reference house too? It feels very industrial and out of place among all the wood and stone. I liked the more rustic look of the old house’s roof!

  • @mitali_singh
    @mitali_singh 10 месяцев назад

    James, this build is SO cool!!! I think you should turn the downstairs two bedrooms/one bathroom into one whole suite for Lady since that would be better for gameplay, and turn the upstairs part into a few bedrooms and at least another full bathroom for guests/future kid(s) :) Also, bringing the nectar making stuff into the main house is a great idea because the barn can then be used solely for the ranch hands. It would be super cool to see stairs (instead of a ladder) going down into a basement where you have the nectar stuff and maybe even a bar. Can't wait to see the changes you make to to this house!!

    Also, for the wine cellar, I've found that some swatches of the Werewolves brick archway match decently with the horse ranch stone.
