Angelina Jolie has had plenty of plastic surgeries but she is considered to be one of the most beautiful women in the world (which i think she is). just stop body shaming women it’s literally 2022 it’s embarrassing. and you literally found a way to talk about this stuff on a sims house build video 😂

Sims take for ever to walk everywhere. puts in lots of bathrooms around to help. Sims goes to bathroom on one side. Walks to other side of house to wash hands.
Yeah, ala the experience Reginald had at the original high school lot lol. I honestly wonder why Sims have that issue in the first place when it's the exact same sink? It's not as if one is broadcasting as the better option; they're the same specs. Very weird. Of course, that's why as soon as he started adding counters into the garage I was like "oh no, don't... they'll go in there to chop up food for some inexplicable reason!" 😂

admittedly, the timing problem isn't that it takes sims a long time to go anywhere/do anything, but that time passes at an accelerated rate.
GAME: "Work starts in 1 hour."
TRANSLATION: You got 60 seconds to get going.
That walking to t he other bathroom to wash up, tho, is pretty wonk. What a weird bug.
@@ScooterBond1970 It's a combination of both these things in Sims 4 though (plus in a lot of cases multi-tasking, hitches before noticing routing hang-ups, and general simulation lag lol.) Prior games also have accelerated time and they're still faster than Sims 4. In fact, they actually have FASTER 3x speeds on top of Sims taking less time to do stuff and usually have multiple ways to speed up their travel progress (running and cars for example.) Add to this that in prior games 3x speed doesn't get halted if any Sim is awake on the lot, it just GOES the second you click that button.
I don't recall what the video is called but Plumbella checked how good the Sims AI was in each game 1-4 (and in other videos how fast kids get taken away... and how long it takes a Sim to drown lol.) I'm referencing the AI one though because she had enough evidence to notice that Sims 4 3x speed is slower and she points this out. This was without leaving the lot each time, just staying inside of the house, and she wasn't checking how fast things went, she was trying to test how smart the AI was when Sims are left to fend for themselves. (Sims 4 AI wasn't awful, even in bad circumstances they *can* survive, but they aren't particularly good at it either. I think she had to nudge once or twice, maybe to cook food, and other videos have also proven that in general they have really slow, basic reactions to certain items. Of course, it's also been proven that the more Sims on a lot, the worse the AI gets.)
Sims 4 is legitimately slowed down, purposefully and unintentionally. Add to this the newer towns with more sprawling maps full of set-dressing within the neighborhood and suddenly travel time is a major factor. Bikes aren't even that great either and there are no cars, ala Sims 3. Literally one of the best things about all of the newer occults people love is different forms of fast travel and teleportation. I'm also surprised more people don't tackle Meditation, introduced in Spa Day, but it requires an item and before the refresh it probably got overlooked a lot, I guess. Also I keep meaning to do it but I've never unlocked that option myself so it's probably the fact we regularly forget or find other skills slightly more interesting/initially useful. XD
Normally I think the double island thing looks dumb, like a science classroom or something, but somehow the inspiration house makes it look beautiful and rational. I think that translates well in your version as well.
Much prefer this speed for a speed build ! I usually dislike speed builds because of the motion sickness and this was a perfect balance for me !

That circular spot the car is on rotates and probably raises and lowers too. Common in high end garages for safely maneuvering the crazy expensive vehicles without scratching the paint 😄

You are correct that curved fences have been in the basegame since launch. The Willow Creek library has curved fences.
it was a huuuuge marketing point and in so much of the promotional material and everyone thought we were getting basegame curved walls which is hilarious in retrospect because it took them 8 years to get around to that...

43:32 That's a fun new bug where modular items vanish any time you load back into the lot. So far there is now way to fix it, at least to my knowledge🤷♂. Replacing the items will just cause them to disappear again unfortunately.
Oh I'm glad to know it's not just my game lol my super sim has a frog collection I keep in the modular boxes and the frogs kept disappearing, but for some reason only some of the boxes not all the boxes...
@@missDoubleU1 if you use moveobjects to place them, I've noticed the stuff tends to disappear. Check your household inventory to see if it was stashed there.
@@djar5562 MoveObjects isn't really the problem. After the modular shelves disappeared on me the 1st time, I decided to replace them without having MoveObjects enabled and the shelves still disappeared.
Would it be the Sims without random weird bugs like modular items disappearing

I saw an artist drawing build from shapes he found around his house. One example was his USB stick, which turned out sick! Maybe an idea to try out in the Sims? Find different shapes around your house and try to make it work as a house 😊
LilSimsie does this a lot :) with a lot of fun shapes, if James doesn't do it but you want to see it done in the Sims :)

There's also been a lot of things added since the last episode of super sim, so it wouldn't be like replaying something right after doing it in a rags to riches.

That's crazy. I'm working on a huge mall and I've only just now breached $700k. I still have like... 7 stores to fill and landscaping to do. Super proud of it, honestly. It is definitely lagging my computer down though, already.
I built a mall, there's a little bit left to finish but I'm stalling, the annoying thing is that for the food court I used those city living food stalls because that's what, in my opinion, looks better and makes more sense, but unfortunately when the sim goes to the mall, he'll have to hire people to work in the stalls himself
curious to see how your build is going
I’ve been building a giant caste since the wedding pack game out. I went for a realistic size by putting it on the largest lot, 64 x 64, but now i’m thinking a realistic size probably wasn’t the right move lol. I’ve spent so many hours building this and it’s definitely bigger than it needs to be. I built it as a place my sims can get married but now I’m thinking of building a smaller one for my sim’s wedding lol.
@@pqpathy if you don't mind playing with mods, I do believe there are one or two mods that auto-assign vendors/bartenders to such things on community lots. My laptop is currently being repaired so I can't confirm the names, but I use it to just make my community lots both useable and feel more used (alternatively, if you use the Eco lifestyle changing community lot and set it to the Marketplace, I do believe that automatically assigns Sims to those stalls)
This reminds me much of james sims 3 speed builds, the platforms, terrain manipulation all the big windows and warm coloured woods, just screems the thesimsupply
LOVE this! This type of build/video brings me back to the “Sims 3 Sim Supply” Era. I loved your complex build videos with Constrain Floor Elevation and this is giving me that feeling.

This is looking fantastic so far, can't wait for part two! I agree about the hallway needing artwork, or a wall decoration, that blank wall is crying out for a statement piece. I also think that the big ten-seater table needs something in the middle, like a plant or vase, it's a very long space to have nothing on.
Time to bring back Max Powers and give this house to him 😅

I think the worst part of the dirty dishes vs half walls is that they will *walk to a half wall* to put things there instead of putting it on the table they are sitting on or next to. They will choose the half wall over any other surface. I've had Sims walk all the way through their home just to put their dishes on a half wall.
Love this build, can't wait for part two. Even more curious as to the "why" you hinted at? Curious if there is a pack or stuff pack? Idk maybe I'm just hoping. When is the next Let's Play Episode? Reginald goes to college?
18:30 That's why I love Bafroom, it has plain doors of glass and window tiles to make an entire window wall.

This was fun.
In looking at the original garage, it appears that the circle thing is a rotating platform so that you can drive your vehicle in, then the platform rotates so that you can either drive out (without backing out) or drive it into a spot within the garage. Of course, we have nothing like that in the game (and wouldn't even if we had drivable cars in the game.)
I remember there being a rotating car platform in TS2 Open For Business - that was super cool! It's a shame TS4 lacks car stuff 😞
39:20 The cool thing about the halfwalls here is that you can just pick a different trim (as in - not the default flat one) and nothing will ever go on it. I often do that, and I especially like the Dine Out one - it adds a lil pizzaz to the build
As much as I love your builds, Mansions in my game lag really bad, almost unplayable, I can’t enjoy big houses until I can afford a better laptop, so for now I’ll enjoy watching you use it.😊

The dining table in the inspiration is black and I think it would look way better than the white as a little pop of dark! Besides that, it looks amazing and I can’t wait to see you play in this house!
The garage reminds me a lot of GTAV:O. I wanted to recreate one of my GTA properties in TS4. I took a bunch of screenshots and promptly forgot about it, so thanks for reminding me! Now, where did leave my hard hat...?

What better time to finish Column's house than now when you're playing as Reginald? After making it as a successful businessman, he could go back to renovate his mother's house as a gift since she never got around to fixing it as he grew up.
OMG I literal tried to build this house recently and gave up, love it. also a tip for modern builders who need marble feature wall or like outset for TVs and fire places there is a table in the living room section (the long end tables), the one he used @ 39:41 that you can stack on top of each other and place walls on the side to give you that marble wall look
I absolutely love the dream home decorator furniture but WHY ON GODS EARTH DID THEY MAKE IT UNCOMFORTABLE. My sims can never sit on them because they instantly get uncomfortable and it’s so annoying because that furniture is just gorgeous 😭

@@caroaraujog I played TS3 on a white unibody. I feel your pain! I had to upgrade the hardware and i used a cooling pad, I still had those little streak lines from the heat at the bottom of the screen. 😬

What I'd give to actually have a wine rack wall in my own house, instead I be vibin with a single bottle of yellow tail which takes up half my fridge 😩👌
All these elevation changes and "step downs" is giving me Flabaliki Sims 3 vibes 💚
My main save file has a mansion that I downloaded off the galery and the bills for it are really expensive. (lot taxes are about 20k) I usually get about 2k in utilities for power and water. They do have 300k that has been accumulated through 12 generations so it isn't like it hurts them any.

I've had the same issue with the modular shelves from DHD disappearing. I replace them and they eventually disappear again.

It would be really awesome if they added a new half wall trim that did not function as a shelf and looks similar to the base game trims. Sometimes I want to put stuff on a half wall - but sometimes I don’t want to play hunt for the stinky water cup my sims autonomously hid on them.
My parents have vinyl planking throughout the whole house including bathroom and kitchen. And it looks really good so if anyone is the type of person who doesn’t like to do multiple flooring throughout their house a simple wood. Throughout the whole house looks really good

My first thought was obviously this is Harrison Ford's house since there is a Millennium Falcon and all his movie posters. But then I realized this house must be for Reginald and Sydney after Reginald gets rich running his business and Sydney becomes a famous actor and stars in the 14 millionth Star Wars movie trilogy. I'm actually hoping that now they've aged up to young adults, the mess that is the relationship system will calm down, but I'm not holding my breath. lol
Man, I'd love to see you build every GTA protagonist's house. They're all different styles, from different time periods, all of them are unique. I think it would be pretty cool

I don’t like how my sims are just flipping through all the books in the book cases because I also hate putting a TV or a computer in their house because they just glue themselves to the TV so I always buy one book and put it in their inventory- that way sims will read their book anywhere - usually not autonomously but 🤷🏻♂️

On my laptop I play sims with just base game and CC (all of my packs are on my Xbox because I didn't have a laptop when the sims came out on Xbox so I got it there first) and I have a save where I'm just trying to fill up the world, but I hate building, I'm not good at it, but I love furnishing and I can't wait to turn this into a base game build! It’ll be such a good challenge!

Because of the area I’m from, I grew up seeing rose marble _way_ more often than any other marble, so that’s what I thought most marble looked like, and white marble was the exception.
I love this. I think you should download from the gallery a few fancy paintings, rich people always have plenty of artwork in their houses, and it can help with the emptiness of the walls. Also I know there are some paintings in the gallery that look like marble, if you want normal looking marble walls. It will involve a lot of moveobjects but I think you can do it.
I'm currently playing in a mansion albeit not as large as this, but by far the most annoying thing is the sink glitch, which imo is way worse lately. They use a bathroom and then walk all the way across the house/downstairs to use a completely different sink even though there's one RIGHT THERE and it is infuriating.
I love big builds like this, can't wait for part 2!
08:25 love that you did that. Our house is like that. From the front it looks like a 2 story but when you go to the backyard, it is on a hill so the basement is walk out from the back
