If you live in this house, you are definitely going to have at least a maid or a butler or more likely both, they'll take care of those pesky half-wall dishes the sims leave everywhere.

Wait? Can staff pick these up? If they are too high up, they are just stuck on there in my sims houses.

Until they pick up all the plates and place the big dirty pile on the walls/random table and then are like “yo I’m done” 🤦🏻♀️
I shrink down coals from Seasons and put them on the half walls. It works with yarn balls, I've seen Dr Gluon use them.
The reason sims do the weird “use the sink on the other side of the house” thing is because they will always want to use the higher-rated object over the closer object. So, if you have a bladder 10 toilet and a hygiene 2 sink in one bathroom, but a hygiene 10 sink in the other room, they’ll use the bladder 10 toilet and the hygiene 10 sink. Same with unassigned beds, chairs, computers, etc. This is why, if you have a cheap bed but a hot tub outside, the sim will autonomously try to take a nap in the hot tub all of the time when they get tired.

Huh. Well, that does explain a hell of a lot. I got so frustrated by the 3rd floor washing of dishes that I took the sink out with extreme prejudice. I'll tweak the quality of the items and see if that does indeed fix it. Thanks for the heads up.
I have this problem even when using the same sinks/toilets throughout the house so I'm really confused 😅 although I've heard another reason could be how many grid tiles the object is away from the sim, regardless of it being on the same floor or not

Maybe you could add a butler's suite off the hallway to the rocket silo. Since a butler would be almost necessary. Also, I was totally expecting two shower heads in the master bathroom, since that space is SO big
I like how he left a lot of sub basement room to grow. I typically throw my butler in a hole in the ground, and lift him out of the pit with a rope once a day. Gravity is how they get back down. "It puts the lotion on the skin when its told."
All in all, a pretty wholesome experience.

For where the vault is, I feel like you should look up images for the James Bond villain lairs. Some of those old movies have really cool sets and great inspiration. Especially since they have to hide really expensive painting or art work or a rocket ship! One even has a big view of a shark tank.
Perhaps with some aquarium walls, filled with the bigger and pretty fish
Just something that embodies that really rich Bond villain vibe, classy in a ridiculous way.
Maybe some fancy room to display space collectables? I always struggle with making a decent display room for them. They always end up looking like creepy alien labs.

The big white vault stairwell from the house hallway would be an amazing place for a gallery wall of all the space and moon prints that you get from the telescope (or buy debug).
All fancy Sims houses need a secret basement bowling alley, James!! You need to fix it immediately.

Looks great! Search "ring" in debug (tiny wedding ring object - make smaller even) and place a bunch on top of the half walls in the slots so they're "full" and sims can't place stuff there. Or any tiny "free" item (doesn't affect bills then.) I hate when my sims have dumped plates on shelves etc and the walls are down so I don't even know! Wish they weren't such slobs by nature. Definitely would get a butler in this build for my game. Can't wait to see the gameplay you do!
He used to do this with sized down yarn, I actually learned this trick from James originally lol

This build definitely lends itself to the butler mod (which you should be using anyways as it fixes a lot of the ea bugs) which also allows live in maids and gardeners. Nothing says plutarch better than a captive slave community... er... I mean a rich and diverse, well paid and cared for service staff.

For the vault, I think alcoves would add a lot of interest. Kind of like an art depot or your sewer builds for Werewolves, but with shelves of collectibles, stored paintings, antique furniture pieces, maybe some very valuable stuff behind glass to mirror the wine room upstairs? Also some Stranger Things stuff (and BATUU) would work well in the area near the rocket ship, like a decontamination room to wash the alien debris off and a control room.

I feel like the vault and the rocket ship should have separate entrances. Then you could decorate them differently and not worry about blending the styles. Maybe you could connect the garage to the rocket ship? It is just another car, right? ^_^ That hallway could have like a decontamination room/bathroom and some lab stuff too.
James, we (we as in me) are going to need a terrain tutorial!!! They way you do it makes so much sense in my brain. I need some guidance!

An easel would look great in the knitting room, maybe instead of the couch the easel could be in the middle of the room so the artist could look out at the pool and view for inspiration 🎨👩🎨

New challenge: build a house with rooms for every activity. Like activities can be put together. How big would the house have to be? And how much would it cost?

@@Veronica-sz7gi i have noe of those for my super-sim is a 7 story 64x64 lot using all the outside space as well, it cost over a million and the lot taxes are almost 800k a week

@LizzyDizzyYo yeah me to, with 3 people having the frugal trait it’s down to like, 200k. The only reason I can pay the is because the same three have another trait making them invest 5% of the household funds every week
I love it! I'm assuming it's for Max Power to update him with all the new aspirations and skills. If it is, you might want to add a radio to your knitting room since knit while listening to music is one of the aspiration milestones. You have amazing vision.
Can you please rebuild the other mansions in this area, this was super fun to watch! Would be so cool to see you use inspiration of other hollywood-style mansions for surrounding homes
For the underground hallway: with the speedup I couldnt tell if you did, but always remember to delete the floor above AND the ceiling below. And create rooms for that on the bottom as well as the top.

I like the idea of adding the science stuff to the basement on the way to the rocket ship. Lots of white, lots of glass. So you can look in to the lab(s) from the hallway. (I might remember wrong, but my head tells me Resident Evil... or I guess most movies have the sterile white, metal, glass look labs, right?)
So I guess it’s time to rewatch the parenthood and supersim series!
U should try to do a riches to rags challenge in this house. Give your sims the most amount of money, and see how many generations it takes to use it all 😊

Missed opportunity with your craft room! Can you add the furniture and storage shelves from Nifty Knitting for crafty vibes? Then I think it’ll feel more complete.

This build reminds me of your old let’s build series that you used to do in the sims 3 (and even later in the sims 4 earlier on). Would love to see you revisit those at some point! They were my fave vids to watch and give feedback on
the house is so amazing, I can’t pick a favorite room! I always applaud your use of the terrain tool and foundations/platforms to make some sweet landscaping!
(also now some of the comments have my hope up that super sim challenge is actually coming back 😍 a little sad it doesn’t mean the return of streamer James if it’s true, but can’t wait to find out regardless of what gameplay it’ll be!)
I know! Even on the rare occasion I have a vision for the platforms and terrain, there is never a way I can figure out how to use them but James's builds are always so organic feeling
I feel some aquariums are in order for this build, which is totally amazing!
The toilet room in the master bath is truly the “Throne”
Get one of the ponds from debug and place it over the hole that the rocket comes out of. If you line it up right and make the hole just big enough to get the rocket out, it does work. The rocket shoots up through the pond. You can still even go fishing in the pond!

WOW I absolutely love this build and can't wait for you to play in it!
some ideas
1. It's seems not fair for that beautiful pink room to not have its own bathroom which could also be full pink
2. Move all machinery stuff to a separate room connected to the volt and rocket station, keeping garage clean and fancy
3. Perhaps there’s possibility to extend that ladder in the office downstairs so then sims can get into a secret spying room/mancave
4. Another shower head in the master bathroom so that two sims can shower together?
5. A room for butler
6. A separate playroom for kids with all their toys, whilst keeping their bedrooms relaxing and maybe adding more beds for their friends/cousins sleepover
And if there are pets it would be nice for them to have a designated space too!
I think this house needs yoga mats and at least two treadmills + a mini bar in the gym?
Also dividing massage tables from the gym into a separate calm space would make more sense
p.s I don't even play sims but thank you for all your videos, they always keep me entertained!
I remember watching your Let's Play and loving your underground rocket silo idea! I started doing it in all my mansions.
What I usually do is make a big formal garden with a hedge maze, and have the rocket opening tucked in the middle. That way, it's only "visible" from the house's upper floors, so the guests on the ground floor or in the garden can't see it, they'll only see the hedges.
2 pools? Why not. Doubles the chances of the sims freezing to death while swimming in winter. lol
i'd love to see james make a build using the T.O.O.L. mod. it gives you insane power when building in the sims. yes, it takes some getting used to but it makes it so much easier to place for example plants in uneven terrain. i feel like that's a good place to start anyways

For the rocket silo, you should fill the space with a control room, a viewing gallery and decontamination/equipment room. You should look at examples of Bond villain’s bases for inspiration such as the volcano base and maybe an aquarium. Glass walls in the basement onto water make great water ‘caustic’ reflection patterns irl
Ooo maybe you could do 007 Spy room overlooking stairs near the rocket in the basement? And for Master bedroom/bathroom you could use the thingy, I cannot remember how it is called, the one you can put between two colums and yet it is still wall, but work like door?
That nighttime view with the outdoor lights and the "city" in the background... Chef's kiss.
It would have been fun to add that gamer room which you talked about when you showed all the gamer stuff in the high school pack 😂
Yeah, It would be fairly simple to just pick one of the bedrooms of an older child or teen and do it up.
I’m going to download and use the vault hallway as like display for the “collections” with the Selvadorada cases, military medals, trophy’s etc.

When I used to work on cruise ships all crew cabins had bunk beds and the coveted lower bed was almost always taken by the person who was living in that specific cabin first.

For the shower rooms, you can delete the half wall after you place the window and door.
Could you make the underground hallway into a museum? Maybe make “glass boxes” and put statues or other treasures in there?
I downloaded this mansion this morning before your video came out and the rocket room was such a fun little surprise!

I don’t remember what pack it is but there is an invisible fence that you can place down for the hallway/stairway to the rocket. If the fence is thing that’s glitching for you, I would recommend that because then once you delete the floor, you can’t see the fence anyways. Hope it works!
Sometimes I wonder what do these super rich people even watch in their cinema rooms? Do they buy blurays? Pirate? Stream Netflix? All options seem kinda underwhelming for a huge bougie viewing room like this LMAO

Why not all of the above? Plenty of quality both old and recent movies/shows worth watching in a bougie viewing room.
Some do private screenings of unreleased films.
i moved to a neighborhood where everyone had a movie room. And they just watched normal stuff. Once, we even watched their old home movies in their movie room, lol. It's was nice sound quality?
I know this is a bit late but I have a solution to when at 3:34 when you're struggling with the fence disappearing. The stairs you place come with a section of wall beneath them by default and that's what's blocking the fence from being visible. What you need to do is temporarily move the stairs to any random location where you can see underneath them, delete the section of wall from beneath the stairs, and then place them back. Voila, the fence should now be visible.
I know it may be difficult, but I love a first person view of your houses! The lighting from the sun is impressive. Looks so nice!
it always amazes me how you're able to just talk for an hour straight. it's a gift lol.
You could also do like a workshop room with all the artsy stuff like the desk from nifty knitting, easels, flower arrangement table, woodworking table etc..

Maybe, in the basement, you can use more red and gold. Like a red carpet, dark walls and gold decorations. Kinda like a rich maffia boss lives there and keeps all of their money and illegal stuff in the secret basement. Just a suggestion😄

This looks awesome. For the vault walkway, i think you've done lava before but something like that could still be cool. I also wonder if the piranha pool still shows piranhas if you shrink it down. Could be like a cool feature, though i'm not sure if it places underground that well.
You need to do all modular stuff at the same time, without leaving build mode in any way. It's a bug that's been there since DHD came out. I've just saved the house in my gallery between build sessions so it all counts as a single 'session'.
Aw yeah! This house is epic! I love it! Looking forward to downloading it the next time I play. It just looks to pleasing to the eye. And the way you used the levels and manipulated the terrain is so perfect. Love it.
I would have liked if this was a longer series where we could spend more time in the building and design phase
About the plates on half walls, I didn't comment last time even though I was thinking this. I assume any sim who can afford to live here can have a maid and/butler so they'll just take care of it lol
a few things that i think would be cool is to build like secret underground rooms to be used as a hangout for club activities, a bedroom for the butler, indoor pool(maybe?) and a bunker because what if the world ends lol
also a greenhouse and a garden on the third floor so you can drink tea and appreciate nature snd observe the city (and all those poor peasants lol) from high up.
i don't know, i think its too much, but knowing that the build is supposed to be as extravagant as possible then maybe these things would add to the grandeur of this place
also i absolutely love this building, it looks fantastic. there are so many details like everytime i try to build on massive lots it always ends up with a lot of boring empty spaces lol

I can’t wait to see this house in game play… I will be honest, I want it to be in the Bigwallet family somewhere (Brody is my favorite but Hazel and Trenton also kind of deserve a place of their own… and Candle does have all the money trees so she could provide a house that that for Reggie and his descendants) it’s an incredible house and I would love for my favorite Sims family to live there.
I've gotten to the point where I don't have any sinks in any of my builds because I was sick of sims going to the bathroom and then walking aaaaaalll the way to the kitchen to wash their hands or use the sink to grab a glass of water for the 10 billionth time. It's incredibly annoying.

Can you do a batuu + werewolf only build? I'd love to see what you would come up with just those 2 packs? (and base game if you need to) Something usable.
34:40 I know this might be kinda late, but I think you have to draw the fence on the top-end of the stairs (which hides the fences anyway) so that you can erase all of the floor you don't need.
For bins being too far away - you could put trash chutes in a few places and say the owners are so rich they have a whole trash transportation system installed inside the walls. Could also pretend some of them are for laundry and that's how it all goes directly to the laundry room

Another idea, I think it suits this mansion a model or a celebrity to live in, a style influencer, a photograph, or you know something related to fashion.. so, I think a good idea to add is a studio, with cameras and lights, the ones with a background from moschino I think, and add clothes racks, with a small seating area for interviews maybe.. I think it would be so cool!
Flip the library wall. Put the desk on the right and the ladder on the left and the upstairs bar back will perfectly line up.

For the hallway to the rocket, you could do more BATU--- I mean, collectable displays down the hall. So maybe scale down some of the acting debug items, and have it like a museum type thing; or even just normal collectables on display.
Add some art to the walls of the basement hallway so it’s like their private art collection and that way it won’t be just an empty hallway and you also don’t have to clutter it with furniture
I’d personally turn that hallway towards the rocket silo into a control center with some of the panels from StrangerVille

I have a toddler and I can say that you don't want as much in a toddlers bedroom irl because if they don't fall asleep right away they *will* get out of bed and play with their toys. Kids do too obviously, but they understand bedtime better and have more self control to stay in bed most of the time. So it just feels more realistic!

I'd love to see a challenge in this building. You get a mansion, but you have no money, and you're also not allowed to sell anything. Good luck keeping it.
