I think given Reggie’s proclivity to go thrifting for clothes it makes since that he would go the same route for furnishing his home. So leaning into the eclectic, thrifted furniture items works really well. Maybe he should start hitting the flea markets!
Omg I laughed so hard at the only decorations in Reggie’s room being pictures of himself.. and then again at him peeking out through the window. Great build as always!
When I saw that I said, "Reg is channelin' Max Power, and even gives me vibes of the Flower Power Fam who all perished when Max burned down the house..."
Yeah it's really nice. I can imagine Regi thrifting most of the furniture, ending up having somewhat mismatched furniture and wood tones. Can't wait for the family to begin in this house 😭
You forgot a fire alarm... You're going to need it with that fireplace! Such an odd little build, but it's kind of cute in its own way! I love the AI generated videos.
I really appreciate that James edited the budget into the video so we could tell how much money he was working with even tho the picture was covering it
Can't wait till James finds out that those stairs don't work because he put in the platform at the door after so now they're on regular floor height and technically not lined up with the platform
Love that you did this again and the style of the house from the AI ended up with so much character! The one thing I was waiting for is more tile in the bathroom, all that wood would definitely get moldy...
You can add a door into the second floor roof area and have a little office or small 1/2 bath. You can make a part of the roof a clear roof as a window.
So glad you're doing this again! This challenge was so much fun last time This AI's picture was way more in the spirit of sims 4 as well. Saw that you linked it in the description, must have to try this myself!
I think the high school picture works like the cross-stitching in cottage living. Put it in your inventory and click on it. See if there is mount on wall options or something similar.
I love the uniqueness of this home! And I also appreciate that he is still living in a tiny home. Not everyone equates their wealth by the size of their house and the amount of mostly unused things inside of it. Love this playthrough, it has been hilarious.
9:33 JUST USE A FENCE! you dont need a floor to apply floor trims. it drives me crazy when sims youtubers say this. you can apply floor trims, friezes, and/or spandrels to fences without being attached to a room/floor tiles 15:54 if you create an "open staircase" with a fence, you could save at least the 4 tiles directly over the stairs. deleted floor tiles above the ground floor dont count toward the tiny home tile count
I’m imaging Reginald furnishing with the HSY pack for the flea market/thrift store vibes and that kit with all the busy patterns and over the top styles as the LP moves ahead. Seems to suit his trendsetter personality. Also love the idea some have posted about putting at least one of his graduation pictures up in Column’s house. She’s definitely a proud and supportive mum!❤️
While the building and the decorations are a bit odd, it feels a really Reginald thing, he wants a thrift store since he loves selling clothes he matched, his house it's a reflection of the same idea, I took this thing because I liked the style, and here it goes another different one that he still loves, it's peak Reginald the awkward dude that mastered the charisma skill.
Omg that the desk underneath the stairs works = mind blown. I am going to use that in so many builds, usually it's just empty space or plants or whatever underneath that nook. Amazing inspo! I love the use of AI!
I think it’s cute, and later on in the letsplay we could just expand it from the back of the house. Maybe add more bedrooms for kids, and a master for Reginald and his S/O. I think this house has a lot of potential.
This information won't be of any use to you now but there are certain roof trims that apply a bar below the roof where the bottom meets the wall. The fourth? one does, and I think the last one, you just put the cursor over that border to apply it there too, no extra floor tiles necessary.

This is such a cute house! I kinda wanna go and build something inspired by it, maybe not as tiny. And btw, chimneys don‘t have to go straight up, but they usually do.
what a fun idea. it actually looks good and you get to keep the tiny home perks. keep the single bed and all "single young adult" things until you have money for a full house upgrade
i love this house! i would love to see the house have more modern pieces as the let’s play goes on to incorporate more of reginald’s style, but i seriously love the vibes of this house
I would have 1000% put an archway into the roof section next to the bedroom to extend the actual floor space even if only marginally with the angle killing half the 'room' but still you could definitely have eeked out an extra 4-8 tiles from doing so. Of course this is definitely preaching to the choir and Im sure that even if only momentarily the thought absolutely crossed James' mind.
You don't need to place floor tiles to place floor trim - you can just place a fence. If you put it in the wall of the roof the fence will disappear and you can place floor trim underneath it!
For that small roof piece above the room where you didn't want to add any more room to get it above 64 squares, you can place the flat roof piece and then put a fence around it, after you do that just delete the flat roof piece and put the roof back. It will deduct the squares from the flat roof piece and you will have a space for a light--if you choose the medium-height hanging lights, that would be a good place for the dining table. You can use the small fence from Strangerville.
Oh, and to answer your question about chimneys, they would put a metal plate under the piece on the roof or wall, it is usually connected by a corner piece coming out of the wall that way it isn't on the roof. It goes like this, fireplace pipe, metal piece, wall, the metal piece then corner pipe piece, then chimney piece. This proves that the EA team really cut corners.
The front of the house looks great! Though I am already dying for the house to be expanded lol! can’t wait to see reginald have a chance to renovate the interior with more style!
These AI builds always end up being really interesting! I grow tired of my builds pretty quickly, so maybe I should let AI inspire me. Whenever I come back to RUclips after a break/Netflix spree, your videos are always part of the few I return to. Your vids are really enjoyable and you're a pleasant person to watch! ^_^
You could do a challenge asking the AI for a floor plan and then make that work (and look good) in the sims. I feel like it could end up with an ..interesting house
As someone who has only lived in houses with fireplaces - there is a thing called a chimney flue that is used to change where the smoke goes out. So yes, the chimney would NEVER be below a window/roofline and a chimney flue would be used for fireplaces like that. Though it would have gone to above the bathroom.
You can put floor trim on fences, so instead of flooring, so you exceed the 64 tiles, you can use a small fence at the edge and shift-click floor trim on that 😃
For that kitchen build a small 2 counter island just 1 square in front doubling as counter space and a table would’ve been perfect. Also giving you room in the living room for a two seater and entertainment setup. I’m late but I love the series! Tryna catch up hehe
For the lines around the window you could have used the wall decoration from Decor to the max kit :) Also, Kayla has a roof trick for your eave sticking out a bit across in the back!
If you grab the eave arrow and press shift you can actually change the length of an eve on one side of a roof without changing the other... I found this out a few years ago by watching someone who does like house building. It blew my mind and it still blows my mind that a lot of people don't know about it still especially people who build all the time... Like I've tried commenting on here for little simsy to see and deli and I don't think either one of them know about it either. It's actually really nice to do for building It helps a lot
I'd love to see you and Deli do a multiplayer series where you build a house together and have a family It could be rags to riches like your style but family like deli's style of gameplay
If you want the stairs to work with a desk under, put the wall to the highest it can go, and when you L shape the stairs you can drag it to be the highest shape then you can use the highest part under the stairs. I did it in one of my builds.
Yup! Also at 11:50, you can use the roof "outlines" instead of a trim. Selecting one of the thicker ones, and hovering it over the wall part of the roof will allow you to get the trim effect!
I'm expecting this house to go the way the parenthood lp house did, kinda. btw I also delete the floor above the stairs where the cutout is. saves at least 3 tiles.
Little simsy has a trick for the roof eve problem. She uses two roofs, one with the eve and stops where she wants the eve to stop, and then another roof with no eve to fill the gap at the top.
hello, I'm starting my Sims channel, there are a lot of fresh ideas, I would be pleased to see you among the subscribers, there are a lot of interesting things ahead on the Sims 3 and Sims 4 series
As a real life Craftsman home owner, yes they do tend to be square like. Windows are so weird too. Contrasting colours outside are a normal feature. Ours and another down the street are green with purple trimming.
Chimney would definitely be up higher because a lower part of the roof/house would get too hot and might start on fire but its the sims so whatever you wanna do basically haha
