Yes. Our friend Ravasheen made us a bunch of items that fit under counters, like washing machines, dryers, mini-fridges, etc. They are very cool for tiny homes, dorms, apartments, etc. You can also shrink it slightly with the T.O.O.L. mod, which will work.
The pond decals would've been a nice extra touch to this: Some fireflies over the fire pit, some ducks swimming in the pond etc. Just to show that extra level of detail we could add now that we definitely couldn't back then.
I guess the bee box is nature-y which kind of fits in. Though I think he should have made it a fishing spot (unless he didnt want random sims fishing there) and nobody ever uses the bird feeder, but I think it would have fit in here nicely as well.
@@marianne5055 You can't fish in the non debug fishing spots because they don't automatically have fish in them, it may have not been worth it to go scrolling through debug for a fishing spot, especially since it'll attract random sims
@@Crucisphinx He was able to use the T.O.O.L. mod in Build/Buy mode, which means he has the Better Build/Buy mod installed too, which labels a _lot_ of the Debug stuff, so he wouldn't even have to hunt for it. I think the idea probably just didn't occur to him, or he liked the bee box better
@@Crucisphinx I know sims only fish if the fishing sign is there. And I also acknowledged that maybe he didnt want random sims on the lot. I just think it would fit the vibes well.
I love seeing you remake an old build so many years later with all the new updates. Would love to see more videos like this. Maybe download and renovate some old buildings?
I imagine someone sitting with some trash in their hand and refusing to to throw it into the bin even though they can easily do it from where they sit..!
Hi James I just wanted you to know that I passed my final English exam yesterday. English is my second language and watching your videos really helped me, so thank you so much 💚
This really feels like an old school Sim Supply video, I love it. Maybe some more recreating old builds videos, or renovating old builds??? Thanks for doing what you do James ❤️
Your original Lake house was the first sims build video I watched, that was the beginning of my obsession with sims 4 build videos, now its a hobby I do all the time, I have so many sims 4 builders on my youtube lol, thank you!
I would really love if the sims team actually added lake homes I mean if they're going to keep giving us woodsy worlds at least give us lake houses it would also give more opportunities to use the stilt foundation.
I have been playing the Sims for so many years and only JUST NOW realizing you can make a tiny home bigger without cheats by putting it on a diagonal?!?!?!
I saw the preview for this come up in my suggested videos and wondered if YT was glitching, as I was very sure the lake house video was not new. 😅 I was, happily, wrong. Love seeing re-builds, and builds in general 💛
It's incredible what James accomplished with so many fewer tools than we have now. Good Job, James! That original lake house was great! In the new one, I would have made it a tad but wider and used a smaller desk but all and all, it's a cute little lake house.
It makes me anxious thinking of sitting on that deck of me falling of or everything around me haha. Love the island and swimming pool area, it looks like a really nice natural spring
A little constructive criticism, I would have put the dining chairs outside, then forgoing a dining room on the inside, and left off the recliners if you could, I can ask you to put a fishing sign on the small island, and a pee bush somewhere. If you made that small island a little bigger, your sim can go camping.
I think the original lake house was the first video i've seen from this channel. I'ts nice to see how much the game evolved. I remember a build using the white basic shelf, it's crazy that something so simple was so revolutionary at the time.
This made me so happy, I commented literally only just the other day how amazing it would be if you remade this build! Awesome as always, the pool area was a stroke of genius.
I genuinely love watching you build and your thought process and also watching your LP’s. I’ve gone back and watched the entire Growing Together LP(to review and catch up) but now also watching your rags to riches LP in Cottage Living! You and Deli are my absolute top faves to watch!
I remember looking at the old version when I started watching James more, cause I got the game. I was so excited to see how to work with terrain tools... only to find out, they did not exist back then 😅
Love how he makes something so nice looking and then 2 seconds later changes it to something else. Like to me the original windows at 6:01 looked good. The original fencing at 4:18 looked nice. The cabinets being brown at 9:19 looked nice. The front door at 11:05 looked better imo. The planter in front at 22:55 was dope. Outside of that, I’d change the back deck to be less crowded, make the TV so much bigger and switch to a smaller desk for more space. Love how Semaj just changes things so quickly though lol 😂
I have a suggestion, if you think it looks like the door would hit the sink, why don't you just turn the door around so the door handle is on the opposite side? ❤ love your builds
Lovely build James, definitely awesome to see how much the newer tools have improved the scope of imagination for builds such as this. Hope you have a wonderful day! 💜🌿✨
I ❤ LOVE this build! I also used to do lakes, ponds, and castle moats with the pool tool... still do for some effects. I probably got that idea from you long ago. How awesome that it's a tiny build but so gorgeous and usable. If I were rich, I'd take this video to an architect and have a real version of it made! Instead of Windenberg I wish we had something like a world like Colorado or Tennessee.... someplace a little rural and with a variety of elevations. The werewolf world might work without the werewolves. The water plants will also help hide pool edges and aren't so expensive.
Hi James! I’m new to your channel… but I watch your partner and she is an amazing builder , too! I’m in the USA and I grew up in NY State on Long Island near the ocean. I’m watching your old video of a tiny house. Maybe some may qualify as “ Small homes” instead of “ tiny”. I’m really hoping you see this as this was a while ago. But, as I watched you (and others) struggle to build the bathroom, and an idea came to me! Because we spent all summer long on the sandy beach… our parents didn’t want all that sand tracked in. So, people put showers on the wall on the outside of the house… some had a cheap little enclosure, which you could. Then your poor Sims can shower and not be stinky without squeezing a shower into the bath. Just a thought! Luv your builds! 😉🤓
I'm obsessed with this build!!!! I wish you used lights under the house so that the white underside looks intentional! Can even change the color, like LEDs.
You could use this style/idea to build a small resort with multiple “rentals” or “vacation homes.” That could be pretty cool! And so fun to decorate and put together.
It's weird to me, that the sims hasn't given us the option yet to choose our own pictures of builds. I have serveral of nice houses I have built, but nobody downloads them bc the thumbnail shows the most unpleasant angle of the house.
wow 6 years seems like such a long time ago, back when James was sim supply. i remember this being the first video i watched on this channel , so hyped for this
Hey, James! I'm loving your Bigwallet LPs but I also love this video. Your builds are so good and I'm so glad you decided to rebuild the lake house especially! It looks amazing! Edit: I was so excited when you said you'd be doing this one; I'd had the same thought. But along with rebuilding more of your old builds just to see what you can do now, the gallery pictures for this made me think... what if you chose some random builds off the gallery (or just some of your own old ones) based on the fact you can't see the lot at all and show them off? lol Then maybe renovate if you felt like it. IDK it could be interesting! Also, I think it'd be cool if you did another shell challenge; I always love those. OR better yet, I'd love to see what you'd do with the "build a house using the premade rooms" challenge. OR maybe rebuild some of the EA houses? Everyone does the iconic ones, which I do enjoy (I'd actually love to see you renovate the "Perfect Home" that you built into the Landgrabb's new desert mansion) but I'd like to see what you'd do with the "shipwreck" in Sulani or the "plane crash" in Strangerville!
Did you not test the 'jump into lake'... or isn't that possible at all? 😂Love the use of those windows to make it more spacious. And how you created the lake so the sims can interact with things there is awesome. I want to live there ☺it looks supernice! But the previous build you based this on, looked also incredible! Considering what you had to work with back then, mad respect!
It isn't possible. Sims can't swim in lakes. The most they can do is get their feet wet in them. For deep parts they can stand at the edge of it and that's it.
Aw you took out my favorite parts of the original video. I loved imagining I was in this world, the feeling of finding a lone house hidden within a lake, bordered by the rocks and overgrowth of a lush forest, walking down the side path through the trees, guided by lights and nature to the entrance of this house. The original lake house felt like someone built a house within an existing lake, but this one (for me) feels like someone built a house in a ditch and decided to fill the ditch with water. I did like the incorporation of a "swimmable" lake, but it was a little weird that you had to walk through water if you wanted to use that bonfire. I imagine you could have emulated a bridge using the stilt foundation like you did for the house, and maybe even expanded the small island for more of a mini picnic/campgrounds area
I think I would have put the swimming pool area right next to the deck, since that's how swimming at a lake house usually is in real life, but I love the overall vibe of this build.

They can only swim in specific lakes and rivers in the world. As of right now you still can’t build your own pond with swimming. They can wade, play, and look for frogs in the shallower areas though.
wouldn't it be sooo nice if the mini fridges could be placed under kitchen counters tho?
With the tool mod at .95 it works great!
Yes. Our friend Ravasheen made us a bunch of items that fit under counters, like washing machines, dryers, mini-fridges, etc. They are very cool for tiny homes, dorms, apartments, etc. You can also shrink it slightly with the T.O.O.L. mod, which will work.
Like a dishwasher does! (I think Ravasheen's requires the decorator pack but that might have been another one)
Or if the mini fridge just acted like a kitchen counter. I can chop a salad on a mini fridge!
YES
The pond decals would've been a nice extra touch to this: Some fireflies over the fire pit, some ducks swimming in the pond etc. Just to show that extra level of detail we could add now that we definitely couldn't back then.
i love adding those to my builds! especially the fireflies in places with a lot of greenery - makes it more lively at night
Officially a tiny home AND has a swimmable area? The lake house dream has been realized! Love it. Bee box is a bit random though.
I guess the bee box is nature-y which kind of fits in. Though I think he should have made it a fishing spot (unless he didnt want random sims fishing there) and nobody ever uses the bird feeder, but I think it would have fit in here nicely as well.

You could wedge a little fridge underneath the counter on the right. Just leave it out a little bit further than the counter so it’s still usable.
It would be so cool to have like many units on the same lake! ❤ So cool and cozy James!
