Mannequins come in handy while building: They help when hanging lights, choosing window heights and placing things on the walls. As long as you remember to sell when you're done (I keep the mannie in the front yard when not in use) you will be able to fully reimburse the simoleons.

I think being a gameplay and building simmer, you bring a very practical element to your builds. You watch speed builds and download these gorgeous houses but very quickly realise they are not optimised for gameplay (and no hate to the creators, I'm blown away by the talent in this community). I'm guilty of it too in my own game: building something just to look pretty or realistic to real life, but is a pain to play in. But you have struck a good balance of asthetics and functionality.

    • @marissaosman

The room at the top of the stairs is great for Scouts since you need the chess, crafting & science tables to earn badges. Adding a full length mirror in the house somewhere will help your Sims earn the “Keep Fit” badge with the “practice dancing” option. That’s the fastest way for kids to earn that badge - or possibly lap swimming.

The house is great, but I really want to give you kudos for your landscaping in this video. As an ornamental gardener, I approve of the shrub borders you created around the perimeter of this lot, instead of fences, and without using formal hedges. In addition to being aesthetically pleasing, it is a far more environmentally friendly and sustainable way to do this. The flora and fauna will greatly benefit from this method! I would love to change the formal dining room. I would knock out the wall between the living room/play space and the dining room, and then turn that dining space into the play space. It would connect the living room directly to the large bathroom/mudroom and give you more space to place the toys and kids stuff. It would also make sense for get togethers because the parents could have some separation from the playing children to talk and hang out while still having direct line of sight to the kids.

I'm a walls up player, I like to feel immersed in their world, so decorations mean a lot to me and thinking about "it doesn't disappear when the walls are down" doesn't occur to me 😜

I think this is one of your best builds ever...love the detail with room to grow, it will be easy to add a basement for extra space.. be well always.

At first watching him build the shape I was like wtf am I looking at but as soon as he started adding the roofing details and the columns and the wallpapers and the colors, I saw the vision. I 100% agree this is one the best family houses James has ever done! The outside honestly kinda reminds me of the big Italian villa from call me by your name

I just gotta leave some feedback cause James 👏👏 this was so chill to watch, put me in a great mood, love all your efforts and commentary (plus the random laugh after putting the dining table diagonally) and the house is freaking beautiful!

This house looks nice. I liked many of its features. My favorite one is the study table with the bookshelf underneath.
