You should give residence keys to all of your baby mamas / daddies / parents so they can stop by whenever for the chaos! Loving this series.
edit: James if you read this, the comments below said to also make a club with the parents and set the activities to taking care of babies and cleaning. If that's possible could be nice to invite over some free labor and have a nap every once in a while especially without access to disco naps

Don't know if it's something you wanna use, but the Acting carreer is good for food ! Every time you're on set, if you take the food on the table in your inventory, you will have free food at home ! Without having to prepare it. And the table at the studio will refill instantly so... it won't bug your career goals, even when they tell you to eat.
Yes, last time I played an actor I always stole tons of food from the set!

I think the stay over prolonged the pregnancy because aging doesn't affect pregnancy, whether you have aging set to short, normal, long or off sims will always be pregnant for 3 days after realizing they're pregnant. Also, if there's ever a challenge where the money trash can makes sense it's the ones that have a ton of children and generate a bunch of diapers and bottles
non-played sims can't have babies on active lots. i found this out by a townie being in labor and spawning a bunch of bassinets at her house, but not giving birth because i was there lol

I haven't even watched this yet but PLEASE keep doing challenges, you're my favorite person to watch do them. I get so excited when a new one is posted and I save it for the best part of my day to relax. Absolute delight. The ways you narrate your characters is especially amusing to me, and you always inspire me to want to go play.
Up your charisma so you can ask the other parents for loans as child support! Also you should add "become best friends with newborn" to the challenge as early stages of the parenting skill are easy, it starts to slow down around level 5

James is quickly becoming one of my favorite sims creators. He never leaves us waiting long and always has some type of idea. Big kudos, especially with how buggy the game is

I don't think you need to put them in sack lunches. There's something about the lot that lets you put the whole thing in your inventory. Sack lunches spoil too quickly.

Working on the ACTING skill and not just the audition specific skills will always give you an edge in auditions. I always go to my first audition with at least level 2 acting.
"Wait, we can search for pockets!" - semaJ 2024, imitating me when I am trying to buy women's clothes
I just added bigger pockets to a pair of pants and it's the best thing i've ever done!
i love the effort james puts on the graphic design on these challenges
u should have to do the social events for every life stage, baby shower, toddler play date, slumber party etc AND birthday parties for all of them
I like that idea! Baby showers are weird in the sims, I'd like to see how James handles it.

Aging doesn’t affect pregnancy, sims will have babies regardless
just not on an active lot if they're not in your household. once they go home they'll give birth
I know it's "cheating" but you can use MC command center to check if they're pregnant or not. It just seems like it's going to take you a REALLY long time if you just have to wait and see.
or try for baby 3 times in a row; that's sure to do the trick 😉

@@alr3764 Technically anything a mod allows you to do that the core game doesn’t could be called “cheating” BUT he’s not triggering pregnancies with MC Command center, just checking if they were successful, so I think its fine. If you are controlling the female sim you can just take a pregnancy test, but its more a mystery when you are controling the male sim so I think a pregnancy check with MCCC is fair game.
Came to say the same. I don't think it's cheating as he's not changing the outcome, just finding out what the outcome is! If he has to wait 3 days just to see if they're pregnant every time, this let's play is going to be looooong!
What if instead of having to +2 parenting skill, instead you go on a family outing, like go out to eat or the park etc. It sounds easy-ish right now but as you get more sims it could be chaotic.
Can you go on a family outing with babies with them being objects?
You can't, so it would be all the household members minus the baby. Which would make right now easy but still pretty tough later on. @NiaJustNia
i find it funny how task-oriented james is with the baby: is it hungry, does it need its diaper changed? no, it needs some love! i think in sims the babies do also have a need for attention - like infants and toddlers. they just want to be cuddled and bounced sometimes!
Yes, they do! Newborns will cry because they need attention.
The reason Bernice didn’t give birth was because she was not in her household. Sims have to be at their home (or start at home to choose to go the hospital) to give birth, so that is why she was pregnant for her entire stay over visit.

Not always. One time my sim's aunt gave birth in the bar. On the toilet even. And she flushed lol. That was a weird coincidence, but yeah, they can give birth outside
@@fd6344 did you have any mods installed at the time? That sounds like something from a mod, the sims 4 developers would not add "can possibly flush a baby down the toilet" into the game, even by accident.
@@SomeoneBeginingWithI Nope no mode. Of course she didn't flush the baby down the toilet. She just had the baby while in the bar's toilet. It was magically transported from her womb to her household. Just a funny coincidence
Maybe you can do a wheel spin for a random challenge if you want to remove a Disliked activity (like Handiness!!) or some other change? We do love when you spin that wheel. 😂
An easy money-making tip: (you may or may not know) is when you see a celebrate ask for an autograph then get it apprised. It will go from the $50 to a few hundred depending on the celebs level, then wait several days holding onto it and it will double in value. It is not a get rich quick thing, but it something easy to do for a few extra Simoleans and since you always see celebrities out in the world might as well make use of it.
I honestly thought this challenge was going to be just playing with a sim through all the life stages. Which I feel like is a challenge for a lot of sims players
i have yet to have one of my sims reach actual adulthood, especially from infancy...
@@Silverfur01 Haha, complete opposite. I love having Sims who went through all the life stages. Have since Sims 2. My happy place is when everyone in my family rotation and most of the people in my game were born in game and have naturally acquired skills from birth to adulthood.

Maybe having the science babies is an added challenge because you have to pay $1,200 each time. and that guarantees you get instant baby and no 72-hour hold. or, make your sim able to become pregnant so you don’t have to add the baby back into your house after birth, and can name them yourself.

Maybe give Semaj the ability to get pregnant? So you can avoid the problems of not knowing whether the other sim is pregnant and needing to add the babies into Semaj's household after they're born. Plus the added chaos of Semaj dealing with pregnancy would be so entertaining
Alternatively, you could make every baby a science baby in order to avoid those issues, and also eliminate the need to wait 3 days for a pregnancy
Total backstory for Bernice in my head - pregnant and married but unhappy 'cause baby daddy's a jerk so left to stay at Semaj's for a few days. Then went home, thinking things will be better at home after having had the baby, baby daddy's still an a$$hole so she left the baby with him and wants to be with Semaj where he was friendly to her and cloudgazed with her.
Hah.
Loving these shorter challenge based series! Having so much fun.
With the amount of diapers this house is about to create, you should definitely get a home lot dumpster and dive for deals. Maybe make one of your sims the assigned dumpster diver. Or make the kids do it for the chaos.
28:45 LittleMissSam has a mod that allows you to customize your helmet, or go helmet-less so you can really make riding through walls and down stairs more exciting 😂

i think it might enhance your chances to succeed at the audition if you raise the acting skill a bit more (along with the other required skills) and also brush your teeth beforehand just to get the confident moodlet!

I'm pretty sure that ageing doesn't impact pregnancies in game ;) but the born babies will remain babies forever with ageing off. Bernice baby couldn't be born as she was a stay over guest (but Mei Prescott had hers since she wasn't pregnant anymore when you met her and she's normally pregnant at the start of the save)
To check, without mods, if a sims if pregnant you can go to CAS, pregnant sims can't be edited (like with all the sliders)
mei isnt usually pregnant, her household normally only consists of her, her teen daughter molly, her child daughter amy, and her father tai lum. if she was pregnant near the beginning of one of your saves, then she just happened to find a partner in that time. sims can get very busy in a week.
I wouldn't say yes to everything when you don't want to double traits. Eventually with saying yes to everything your going end up doubling traits. It does add a lot of chaos.
Not James forgetting he needs the acting skill to become an actor.
Sims will still autonomously give birth with aging turned off, the newborns just won't age up into infants. However Sims can't give birth unless they are on their own home lot. As long as Bernice was at your house (or just out in the world) the baby was stuck inside her.
Also, I think if Semaj wants to have babies the old-fashioned way, the easiest way to do it is for Semaj to be the one carrying the babies.
Ageing does not need to be on in order for pregnancy to progress. Pregnancy always lasts 3 days, and pregnant sims actually don't age while they're pregnant (to prevent adult sims aging up to elders while pregnant).
I think the +2 parenting skill per baby is fair because the gap between skill points gets bigger for each skill point. Maybe the skill threshold should be number of babies +1
for the second baby, you need parenting level 3
for the third baby you need parenting level 4
for the fourth baby you need parenting level 5
ect
for the 7th baby you need parenting level 8
you can check if sims are pregnant w mc command center! also, the parenting skill boosts faster when you take care of newborns!
Aging off doesn't affect a Sim having their baby. Their babies will still be born with aging off.
Yeah the stay-over froze her pregnancy. She just needed to go home or actually be added to the household to give birth.
@@TheDawnofVanlife Yup, it's the same if a pregnant Sim is on vacation. They can't give birth and the pregnancy won't trigger on vacation rental lot.
So Bernice came to your house pregnant, you sent her home, she invited you to a date (to the hospital?) and came back not pregnant anymore 😂 all in less than 2 hours
Don’t forget to steal food from the sets to feed your multitude of children!

it could be fun to add adopting as another challenge. like you have to adopt once, but you can only do so if you have a certain amount of money, pay more, have an extra room for them fully equipped etc. romancing people might get boring lol

Being in a Confident mood helps A LOT with succeeding with auditions. I always make my sims "brush teeth" and "psych self up" just before auditioning

How about making the challenge harder, and not be allowed to remove any walls, when you add to the house? You can add all the walls you want, but not remove old ones😊
Move the baby parent in temporarily while they are pregnant or while you're preggers. Take $500 - $1000.00 from them in child support when they move in so that you can buy baby stuff. Move them out once the baby comes.
