Have an option on the wheel to get rid of one dislike. Feel like the actor one was unfair because you were legit keeping two infants alive.

Whenever Judith Ward shows up as a background actor, in my head, she’s being paid insane money to do a cameo appearance because they couldn’t afford to hire her to do more or her schedule wouldn’t allow it.
Or she’s a huge fan of the production. Like how Stephen Colbert got his kids in one of the LOTR films because he’s a huge fan.

I made a story in my head where since she was such a superstar she thought that everything was too easy and handed to her because of that (the fact that she is a superstar), so she decided to re-start her career at the very bottom and show the world that she isn't a superstar for nothing... ^^

Get rid of the crib! Infants can just survive in the playmat and gain milestones on their own. And it stops older sims from moving the bab around needlessly.

Ya, my babies don't have cribs, that glitch is do annoying
yes but...their energy need doesn't fill up as quickly with the mat, which means they will cry out of exhaustion more often. I guess it depends on what annoys you more, tho. I just put the play mat in the same room as the crib, or have two play mats, that way the Sim is never far from one and doesn't waste too much time.
You should switch acting agencies to the Granny one. They send flowers you can sell after successful gigs. Easy money

For disciplining you need to let the kid finish the action before the option appears. Then it’s under parenting. And encouraging good behavior also counts toward that aspiration milestone, which is nice.

Also teach to say thank you and teach to say sorry raise your parenting skill and you can encourage their learning right after for an additional parenting skill boost. It also raises the child’s manners and conflict resolution respectively.
@@frostin666 yeah that’s a good trick I had forgotten about! If you want to go the other direction you can also set an early curfew and have your kids step just outside the boundaries of their lot then discipline them for breaking curfew. It tanks their responsibility trait though.
i have a household of 6, including a pair of baby twins, plus a cat. i spend most of my time yelling at the screen, "put the baby down." "leave the cat alone." "put the baby down." "leave the cat alone." on repeat. the whole time.
Me too, but I got all 8, 2 parents, 2 kids(a teen and a girl) and 4 pets one cat, one dog and two horses. I was so glad when they grew up 😅😭 I couldn't stand our Butler getting the baby and leaving the house in a pile of trash
@@maiilustra don't get me started on the butler! i ended up firing him cuz he wouldn't leave the babies alone, even after taking childcare away from his tasks.
My sim abandons what he's doing to autonomously get "giddy" over his dog, a few times a day!
All those plus then the chickens keep getting out of the lot and 'cannot find the coop'. Any spare time seems to be spent sending the sim to go put the chook in their inventory and returning them to the lot before they starve. (the chickens get out via the locked door/gates glitch and travel)
@@skyfrostthunderrock I had to fire several times the same butler and the Ranch guy, one of them really creeps me out, he did, I fire him whenever he gets to work in her house.
The Ranch helpers were useless in my game, they had to take care of the horses(clean their poop, their bed, and other things), gardening, the chicken, and that dude still just inside my house cooking all the time and following my Sim wherever she was, she as a celebrity, but neither her stalker got me pissed like this ranch guy, and I didn't found a way to lock just him outside the house, without having to lock the house for visitors and stuff(my Sim has a sister who always came to visit her, so whenever I unlocked the door for her sister, the Ranch guy went straight to the kitchen), and while this man was inside the house, my farm was abandoned, my chickens were hungry and dirty.
I was screaming "MAN, YOU CLEARLY HAVE SOMETHING TO DO OUTSIDE!!!"
If, while the infant is selected, you click on the infant themselves, you can choose "Try to Go Night Night" and that usually successfully puts them to sleep.
Everytime Bernice is at the door I keep hearing the “Every breath you take” song in my head 😂

When infants are on the play mat, you can tell them to look at toys and stuff and that will encourage them to reach and do fine motor skills like that.
Any time your Sim is tense/uncomfortable/etc and doing a task, they’re going to ask if they don’t like it. Maybe for a challenge, you have to reach a certain level of that skill to remove it (so maybe once you get to level 5 of acting, you can turn off the dislike/switch to liking)

This LP is perfectly outlining why I rotate households when my active's baby ages up into an Infant and then i don't return until they are a Child xD
I dont even bother letting my sims get pregnant
I don't rotate because I want to control everything that happens.....except for when they're infants. I stick them in a family members household until the kids age up 😂

You should go into CAS and add the wheel spins to your Sims likes, it would help keep track of what style, color, and hobby they got. With eventually 9+ Sims in the house it would be easy to forget otherwise.
Most of the infant/toddler stuff can be placed in a sims personal inventory and pulled out like an easel or instrument - there is even a portable crib. It really helps with going to other lots. But I think it would be fair game to edit any parks that came in packs that predate toddlers to be baby friendly - since toddlers and infants didn’t exist when most of the parks were created.
yeah!!! And also btw toddlers have inventories so you can just stick a wabbit tablet in there or put the playmat so you remember where it is.
The maid will get rid of all your free money items though!
Not sure if you remember / you may have already done it but try and remember to change 'agencies' in your career, that way there's better gigs and more money available :) loving this LP though!
You can get the seldom sleepy reward trait instead of the plumbite. Or perhaps never weary. More kids, more chaos, less sleep. And more entertainment, lol.
James forgetting that he gave Semaj the Dance Machine trait so he could have Disco Naps to get his energy up and then never leveling up dancing to unlock it.

Sims will dislike things when they are uncomfortable so I guess that if Semaj practice acting while happy he might like it again? I never tried though.
He needs to stop make his sims do the things he really needs them to do while they are uncomfortable......😅 That almost always ends with a dislike
If you just keep doing it sometimes another pop up will happen saying you like it but it’s pretty rare
"Give Krystoff a nap" would have made your sim sit on a bench with the baby in his arms and let him have a nap in his arms. Hope that helps in the future. 😃

My tips for outings with an infant: bring the playmat with you, they can nap on it - or put them in the back carrier and have them try to go to sleep and they'll nap there. The second option is harder because your sim is *very* limited on what they can do with the baby on your back and there's no warning so it'll just interrupt the baby's nap. Also, many times when the adults don't do what you ask it's because the action timed out while the infant was crying, so I'll select "get fed by x" from the infant's perspective, make sure it's next on the adult's queue, then go back to infant and cancel any fussing and crying.
You should put the baby's 3 day "birthday" on the calender so you don't have to worry about forgetting

Anytime you do anything with an uncomfortable moodlet, you are bound to get the prompt that you dislike whatever you are doing. If you want to get the like prompt, you should be in whatever positive moodlet, like Confident, Energized or Inspired, that would usually generate positive outcomes!
Also, I think if you manage to load your sim up (so to speak) with good moodlets (so that they push the stressed moodlet to the bottom) and then do acting for a while it should be possible to get the option to "like" acting again.
I think the baby names should be after the mom, Alice’s son could have been Alistor. Also, I like the idea of the mom taking any “bonus” kids home.

This is 100% accurate 😂 though I never paid attention to the fact that it increases funds when you have more sims
To discipline, you need to either teach to say please and thank you, or teach to say sorry ; encourage good behaviour (easier to do when their a child, but also after you teach them manners and conflict resolution) ; and finally discipline them when they misbehave, like making a mess, having a meltdown, saying bad words or yelling at someone. All of those are under the "Parenting" menu. And no, playing in the cupboards does not constitute a misbehaviour.

small tip on dust bunnies - if you befriend one you can actually vacuum the house and it won't disappear anymore even with a pristine house so you can keep getting "valuables" and have a cute, maintenance free pet 😁

A few tips I’ve found from trying this challenge: for money just steal the food from the acting gigs and sell it in the trash can for sleep a coffee machine works well (definitely not long term but if you’re rlly low on energy then brewing a bit of coffee is a life saver) I’d also recommend doing all the interactions from the adult sim they just don’t work well if the child is asking for something and the interaction for fixing needs for babies doesn’t rlly work I always just feed the baby if they’re crying and don’t have a dirty diaper then cuddle them and that always fixes it
There is also an energizing tea, and I prefer the magic tea brewer to a coffee pot because you can also treat illness, and change moods with tea.

I’m playing this challenge on my own and getting the better bed for your main sim is a game changer! Also, get rid of infant cribs and just use playmats.

I started your challenge last week (instead of studying for my exams) and I just finished it today! My main sim died of laughter like 3 times but her eldest daughter managed to plead with grim each time! Had a really fun time playing it, and can't wait for you to make up more challenges for us to try and watch you do!

I feel like Semaj should be able to use the gem for his needs because he would spend more time with the children if he didn’t worry about his needs.
As long as they don't take a piece of cake, you can put candles on the same cake and age up multiple sims that way.
There's only one convertible crib, the rest can't be converted even if there is a matching/similar bed style.

I've heard, and can't confirm at the moment, but "Dream Big" with Basketball, and Juggling with Soccer ball, are great ways to raise fitness.

Devs seriously messed up with adding the function to make Played Sims autonomously care for babies. Doesn't work well. But we shouldn't be surprised lol. I guess they did it because the unplayed sims didn't care for their babies.
I feel like one room for the twins would be cute so they share, but still have to incorporate a different theme/color/skill for each of them.

I think you can just charge the crystal. You don’t have to cut it. Might be a good idea to just keep one in the house somewhere. Semaj is going to hate everything he does if his mood is bad because his needs are not met.

You get the pop up to like or dislike things based on your mood when you do them. So if you would have had your needs met when you went to work you wouldn't have gotten that pop up and to avoid having negative pop ups in the future you would try to avoid doing tasks you don't want to dislike while Semaj is dying lol Unfortunately, that would be nearly impossible lol

Lock the door to the babies room while you're trying to put the infant down. It will stop him from putting the infant in the crib. Whenever I'm trying to level up infant skills I always lock the door so they can't be taken out or get distracted by other things.
You forgot to give Alice a resident's key! And I think you need to re-give them to Bernice and Mei, both of them showed up without coming inside. Baby name suggestion: Heliogabalus, after the terrible Roman emperor who was murdered by his own mother.

Bernice being obsessed with Semaj and stalking him is such a good plot twist. Also, get the fame perk that sends you potions! It can be useful when raising babies on your own.
The likes/dislikes pop ups are related to the mood they're in while doing the activity. If they're in a bad mood you have a chance for the dislike and if they're in a good mood then they might get the pop up that they like it. So basically if you practice acting while in a good mood then you should eventually be able to switch to liking it instead.
make semaj able to get pregnant for at least one of the babies. No energy, need to pee all the time, and having to care for kids? He'll be miserable.

Having played with infants and watching other play with infants… equally stressful. More fun to watch than do imo. Thank you james for doing this. Loving this mini series
