- The elements are prepped for bending once again as Netflix will be releasing a new live-action adaptation of Avatar: The Last Airbender this month. Once again bringing Aang, Sokka, Katara, and Prince Zuko to the forefront, the new take on the Nickelodeon classic aims to honor the source material while injecting new elements in the timeless tale. To get fans hyped for the first season release, Netflix has released a brand new video that gives bending fans a behind-the-scenes look at the actors and creative team that brought the series to life.
While the series is aiming to stay true to its source material, the showrunners have hinted at the idea that there will be some changes made to this live-action adaptation. Showrunner Albert Kim has stated in recent interviews that Netflix's series will be a tad more mature than the original animated series, stating that the series is looking to appeal to both fans of the original and fans of Game of Thrones.

Zuko's combat looks brilliant!
The actor is a real life martial arts prodigy, His fight scenes are gonna be so good.
This was actually kind of awesome, I love how they included Fire Lord Ozai stating that he wants everything controlled under one rule, to create an era of peace. As well Zuko for a second actually sounded like Original Zuko.

I used to watch the original animated version to Relax when life got stressful, there are intense exciting moments. But this series also is one of THE Most relaxing trance reducing animations ever, the music, The lighting, the nuanced tones, This show got me Through a Lot of Hard Times, & now it is Like a ‘Home’ No matter anywhere or situation I am in the world
The visuals are well done. Also the costumes are good, at least to me. Too many shows try to make everything realistic. It's fine to have costumes that are more comic or animation accurate than being realistic.

I don't think it was that bad. The only problem with that movie was the cast, choreography, bending effect and the pronunciation of the characters.
Ozai being shown in the trailer is slightly concerning, ik it’s not as important since this is a reboot but half of the coolness from ozai was him being in the background for most the show

It's not that serious though honestly I think it's good that he gets screen time for character development as apposed to him just being there in the cartoon that always makes the best villains at least that's my view.
@@shamaiahellis8810 I hear you. I just appreciate when there is an overarching final boss that doesn't get much screen time until the end. He is only heard about and seen from time to time. Makes for great mystery and story telling. It works well in this series because you have other excellent villains to challenge the heroes in the mean time. i.e Zhao, Zuko, Azula and crew.

@@helenaholmes3784 I’m not trying to be overly critical, but it’s just disappointing how I’ve seen better cosplay makeup of Zuko’s burn scar. If they’re making the live action “darker” and “more mature” than the animated show, Zuko’s scar should look a lot worse than a minor burn. He’s supposed to be disfigured from it, not just look like he’s got a bad rash or a peculiar birth mark.

I'm hoping there won't be too much shaky cams or abuse of slow cams. The fight scenes in this trailer looks concerning to me. Fight scenes in the original show was one of the biggest pluses there were as the choreography was good enough to compete against Naruto Shippuden's finest fight scenes at the time (and sometimes even topping it).

i think revealing the firelord this early is a mistake
i think it's brilliant to set the tone. Season 1 in the cartoons is good but lacks seriousness, and im sure they had their reasons for it. I think they are going darker for the live action. It would be interesting to see more of Ozai and Azula in the first season.

Prince Zuko doesn't look right. That guy looks way too Asian. This will probably be better than the movie but the race for the fire nation was a better choice in the movie. Same with Kitara. This isn't a world of all East Asians so not sure why everyone looks like that, especially the main characters. Kitara isnt asian, she literally has blue eyes. Tenzin isn't Asian. He's white.
